I agree with pretty much everything ITT but there definitely are exceptions when it's appropriate. One that comes to mind is when there's a big live event like an awards show where googling it does nothing. In rare cases like that I don't think asking for help finding a link is so bad, assuming of course it's being posted in a thread already discussing it. Starting a thread just to ask for a stream should be punishable by firing squad.
