maybe if the awful love arc was cut. maybe, in fact, if it was just 2 hours of russell and kilmer being based.

Back to the future III
Shane or Pale Rider
The Searchers is a close third but it mainly just makes me think about how due for a remake it is.
Unforgiven is up there too.

Ive never been more disappointed than with Once Upon A Time In The West.
I kept waiting for it to get good (from a narrative standpoint) but jesus that movie is a chore

Why does The Searchers need a remake? Nobody will ever attempt it because the film is so legendary.

Have you guys watched classic westerns as well or did you skip straight to Unforgiven?
>>52885711
So much of it is so quaint and obviously 1950s. The story is a brutal 5 year trudge and the movie just so "gee whiz" about it all. The ONE TIME is actually gets any punch is when Ethan finds the little girls body off screen.
But everything before that is so sterile.
The opening/ending's doorway stuff is cool though
>>52885755
Its a favorite Western of mine.
The Wild Bunch
The Magnificent Seven
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Westworld as a wildcard choice.
>>52885755
Can't speak for the others, but I've watched and enjoy plenty of the classics, Unforgiven is better.

>>52887976
Ehh I've met a couple people who actually think it's good. One guy said it was better than The Deer Hunter which is true.
>Pic unrelated
>>52888048
Everyone I've screened it for has called it "boring" or "a waste of celluloid and horse blood".
>>52888152
The only scene that bored me was John Hurt's graduation speech. That felt like eternity.
As for "waste of celluloid and horse blood" they wouldn't know a good movie if one felt out of their ass.
so the u.s and mexico have their own wild west/indian wars.
what about canada

>tfw cimino was forever shunned 'cause he angered a few critics who broke into the set of the film
fucking plebs
>>52888231
Last of the Mohicans?
>>52888290
Seriously, though, the real death of the Hollywood New Age was the rape of Heaven's Gate combined with the box office failure of Sorcerer. Plebs had all the power back then, and they still do.
>>52888367
You're telling it like it is brother. Plus if people want to be infuriated by bad box office bombs.
>Here is a list of examples: The Lone Ranger, Mars Needs Moms, Ishtar, Inchon, and etc.
>Heaven's Gate was worth every penny and celluloid.

>So much of it is so quaint and obviously 1950s. The story is a brutal 5 year trudge and the movie just so "gee whiz" about it all. The ONE TIME is actually gets any punch is when Ethan finds the little girls body off screen.
That's because you're too retarded to understand subtlety.
