That zoom shot on Simba's face gets me every time
It always bothered me how none of them saw who he was, or even cared.
In a universe where apparently every animal can talk, and has at least basic intelligence, this scene was implying that theres some animals who were just too dumb to do so.
Also, when the lions hunt food, does the animal they're killing beg for its life?
The music in that scene still freaks me out

a lot of "normally non-talking things talk" films suffer from this. at some point you have to decide who gets to talk and who is just background characters. i think brave little toaster had some background electronics that were never sentient
I haven't seen either GITS or it's sequel in at least a decade. So with the new live action film coming out I thought I'd revisit them.
I remember seeing GITS in the late 90's and didn't like it then wasn't impressed with Innocence either back in 2005.
But watching both movies now, as a near 39 year old, I appreciate them more now. When I watched them initially I was expecting cool robot fights and gore and I think the thoughtful tone and measured pacing is what threw me off. Reminds me of how I felt watching the 2006 Miami Vice movie and being disappointed that it wasn't like Lethal Weapon only to come to admire the movie more and more over the years.
Funny how perception changes as you get older and how I adored the philosophical tone that both movies have while giving me the intellectual food-for-thought that was missing from the Matrix sequels while the original movie cribbed heavily from GITS.
Anywho, Mamoru Oshii's GITS movies feels like the work of an artist although I think the animation is slightly better in part 1 while the overabundance of CGI in 2 kocks it down a bit. However, the scores for both movies are wonderful while they compliment each other and I wish that Oshii could have done a third film for the 20th anniversary because I'm not impressed with the TV show or New Movie or any of that other shit.
I don't have much hope for the live action feature. The Director's a hack, the screenwriters suck and Scarlett Johannson is a shitty actress. I suspect that it'll be a generic big budget Sci-fi action movie although I do like the trailers and the shelling sequence redux was fantastic.
I just wish someone like Gaspar Noe was making Ghost In The Shell!!!FACT!!! https://youtu.be/q0z08OpmEPc

Lmao it's anime you manchild.
I remember in the 80's and 90's all the commercials for Akira. I finally saw it like last month and meh...

I like anime, but I have to agree with this anon. The themes are there, but they're not really fleshed out enough for my taste.

Razzies are a joke. There's legitimately worse movies than BVS in 2016 (e.g. X-Men Apocalypse, Suicide Squad, Ghostbusters, etc).
>>79607728
I dont think the Razzies have the balls to nominate Ghostbusters.
How's that script coming, huh /tv/?
