Is there such thing as a rip off that is better than the original? I've seen remakes but never rip offs
>>79760056
Stardew Valley is a perfect example of this but that's vidya.
>>79760056
>>no such think as ripping off
CHINK DETECTED
BACK TO WORK FOXCON KUK!

the works of Quentin Tarantino.
Kill Bill is a rip off of Lady Snowblood, and it is superior.
>Friday night
Why are you here?
>>79759811
Sick, lol I'd be here anyway
>>79759811
for you.
>>79759811
Haha you think we play by weekends?
Which episode is the worst offender in the "future perfection moralizing" category?
Right now I'm watching "The Neutral Zone" and I hate how condescending everyone is being to these past people.
>People are no longer obsessed with the accumulation of things. We've eliminated hunger, want, the need for possessions. We've grown out of our infancy.
>"Well, from what I've seen of our guests, there's not much to redeem them. Makes one wonder how our species survived the 21st century."
Could Roddenberry lay it on any more thick? If I'd been one of those frozen people and received that welcome I'd probably see if I could defect to the Romulans when they showed up. I'm sure there are episodes that are even worse in this aspect but I can't think of any right now.
Also /trek/ general.
>>79759789
This is why Star Trek fails. Infinite space means infinite banditry, piracy, general lawlessness and all other forms of thievery.
They can't have eliminated want because everyone wants more than they could ever possibly offer. When they fail to supply, the cool stuff that you never see in Star Trek begins.
>>79760188
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind that it takes place in a socialist utopia. If they got FTL travel to work it's not such a stretch to think they got communism to work as well.
I hate when the characters get all smug and moralizing about it. Opponents to the ideology are presented as caricatures, strawmen for the heroes to defeat in argument.
It's part of why I liked DS9, where characters were allowed to critique the premise of the setting without being villainized.

Says Picard whose ready room is full of things.
>*BUURRRRP* God's not real Morty

>L-life is pointless Morty, your *URP* parents are fucking idiots
>the redditor laughs out loud, spewing Cheetoh crumbs all over his desk
>W-wake up fucking sheeple, everybody is an idiot but me
>the redditor can hardly contain his full bellied laughter as chortles begin to fill the room
>WUBALABADUBDUB POOPY DOOP FUCK SHIT
>The redditor starts convulsing on the floor, gasping for air between spasms of laughter
>mmmm get schwifty

Good thread.
What is the worst thing to happen in cinema or the television industry in the past decade, the glorification of "nerd culture" or forced diversity?
Diversity isn't really that bad, it's actually a good thing.
Forcing nerd culture only damaged real real nerd culture, and turned hipsters into mindless consumerist zombies.
>>79759571
Shakey cam and quick cuts.
/thread
>>79759686
Diversity can be good if it is handled right and serves a point. I agree what you say about nerd culture, I'm really hating just about every fantasy novel that comes out now since they are all emulating ASOIAF, it was bad with the Tolkien copycats but this is on a whole other level of shit.
Does nobody give a shit?
I'm banking on Moonlight for Best.
Everything Directorial / Music to La La Land.
Actor to Casey.
Actress to Natalie (best Emma kills herself).
Nothing else matters.
>>79759496
>nothing else matters
Shame Silence got totally fucked this years at the Oscars. It's genuinely one of the best films made in recent years.
>>79759547
What about Farhadi?
>>79759547
Fucking this.
Why did Hidden Niggers get nominated instead?
*Makes you think*
i refuse to watch a philip defranco episode, brah
>>79759385
And why is that, you can't handle people that are red pilled?
OP you are meme-addicted faggot that probably can't even produce a single coherent thought
Hey, /tv/. How you doing tonight bros? Everything going okay? Got something on your mind? Take a break from the negativity on this board and let's talk, no bullshit.
>>79759176
hi Penn. I have a question.
youre 68 years old and yet your hair and beard are jet black, how is this even possible?
no bullshit.
>>79759176
Got rejected from another job today. How do I relieve myself from this awful feeling of uselessness?
>>79759546
Did you make it to the interview stage?
I can't think of a single director who hasn't made an unoriginal work (adaptation or based on a true story). Can you?
Inception
What do I win?
Rian Johnson would have qualified until The Last Jedi, Edgar Wright until Scott Pilgrim, Tarantino until Jackie Brown...
Ridley Scott - Alien
>mfw I'll never go to war and have a qt who swears her love and will wait obediently for me to return
This film's making me sad desu
>>79758994
It's just a meme, in reality she'd be neck deep in dicks 2 weeks into your absence
>>79759063

Why are the fat ones always the funniest?
Lena Dunham isn't funny, neither is Melissa McCarthy.
>>79758914
I guess it's just in their genes

>Why are the fat ones always the funniest?
It's true

>>79758846

I can't keep up with all this new terminology.

>>79758846
Whole thing blew the door off cinema
Is there anything he can't do?
>>79758660
Fuck his community actresses
>Is there anything he can't do?
yeah, yo momma!
>>79758660
Rap and act
I just watched this. It was absolute shit.
I thought I could enjoy it just for being an American propaganda film, but it's so boring. It's, like, if you took every cliche about a war movie, but only the cliches that people hate.
>not watching it every other month and full saluting every time a towelhead gets sent to the reaper
>>79758719
>not clapping and tipping every time a camelfucker gets clapped
>>79758624
>not drinking 14 miller lites and passing out halfway through the movie
Why couldn't the movies have a good Lex Luthor?
Even a CW show did it better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUleoZCeL4Q
because zack snyder always aims for the fences and strikes out
>>79758623
But i thought /tv/ loved snyder
>>79758584
It didn't just have a good Luthor. It has a *redifining* depiction of Luthor. Hackman did it in the 70s. Eisenberg has done it for the new millennium. The only difference is that the audience who watched the original in the theaters didn't consist of whiny, unimaginitive retards.
