What are /tv/'s thoughts on Elizabeth Mitchell and her roles?
>>79983689
She's hot but remind me what roles she's had outside of LOST?
>>79983710
She played in that reptilian aliens remake series.
>>79983710
She hasn't had many prominent roles outside of lost, which is a shame. She was pretty lewd in Gia.

Kind of depends on what kind of series/movies you are into. It's a slow burner, especially the first season. If the concept of the show and the time period interests you, then go ahead.
However, if you expect action-packed scenes with lots of fights, then you might be let down.
I don't get it

The opening scene of The Dark Knight Returns, sometimes known as "Bane on Plane," is generally considered to be a variant of surrealism or Dadaism, usually with existential or postmodern undertones related to collapse of meaning and the visceral absurdity of confusion in a symbolic order. On this reading, the scene is designed to evoke a kind of uncanny valley effect in the viewer by presenting him with what is ostensibly an incredibly conventional narrative and semiotic holism - an American action caper, constructed so prototypically from cliches and familiar devices that even the exciting "reveal" of Bane's identity has its anagnorisis and payoff botched well before its presentation as dramatic climax - but subtly and systemically undermining the possibility of semiotic stability throughout the scene, and thereby sabotaging the possibility of the viewer's fusion with the film's semiotic horizon. The experience of watching Bane on Plane is one of profound unease and even dissociation, as the viewer continually tries to assemble coherent meanings, motives, and purposes from a train of malformed tropes, allegories, and metaphors; narratological intuition continually fails to discover any implicit humanity in the behaviour of the actors. The mind reflexively brackets the scene as likely to admit of little variation in its seemingly familiar, even monolithic tropes, but is continually surprised to find that near every trope is "misbehaving." Where at first a single puzzle piece does not "fit" with its puzzle, it is quickly realised that none of the pieces fit; and that this, perhaps, is not a puzzle at all. When asked whether the work of Foucault and Deleuze on the epistemic experience of schizophrenia influenced his choices in his role as Bane, Tom Hardy declined to comment, but referenced Foucault on the discursive constitution of the author-function.

What are your premature guesses for next year's best picture?
inb4 Dunkirk
I remember earlier last year when everyone thought Birth of a Nation and Silence were the frontrunners.
>>79983073
Like every year, the ones close to the event...
Daniel Day Lewis and Paul Thomas Anderson are working together again. It's over.
>>79983073
Depends. What movies being made this year focus on a poor, black, gay choir boy with Straight 'A's living in the ghetto who gets shot by an evil racist, homophobic, white, Republican cop?
who's the Dave Grohl of tv and film?
I want to say Keanu Reeves because both of them seem like the coolesr dudes to work with in their respective fields. But at the same time, Dave is not only cool as fuck, but he's also really talented. Keanu is very hit and miss with his acting

Daily reminder that Miles Teller and Emma Watson turned down La La Land because they wanted more money.
Watson could have been an Oscar winner.

Jerry: Whadda ya mean you broke up with her on facebook?
George: I changed my status!
Jerry: You didn't even text her?
George: No Jerry! I changed it from in relationship to single, she'll get the notification! Bang, it's done!
Elaine: Ugh, sorry I'm late, I couldn't find an uber. What's going on?
Jerry: George broke up with the girl he met on tinder by changing his facebook status
Elaine: I don't think it's socially ethical George. My last tinder date didn't go so well. He didn't even have netflix, he wanted us to watch a YIFY movie on VLC!
Kramer: Hey back off! A:10 V:10 YIFY always delivers!
