Are you guys fucking serious that you like this?
Jesus.
You mean to tell me you didn't like Tom Hiddleston in a gas mask going to fucking town on some monsters?

It seems like a fedora-tipping man child fantasy to me.

This was pretty interesting to say the least.
Let's get a thread going.

It's amazing how a four hour movie with some loosely relating scenes one after another can be so fucking entertaining. I absolutely loved it so far.
Other films I like from Sion Sono:
- Why Don't You Play in Hell?
- guilty of romance
He is the true master of Nihon kino. Takashi Mike is just a stupid meme lord.
>>80315143
Thanks for the recommendations dude, i never browse this board since i don't watch a lot of movies.
I felt like some scenes ended too abruptly, or the fact that they luckily found Yoko on the street really helped the plot.
Could you please tell me what "Nihon kino" is ? Tried googling it but I don't speak jap.
>>80315333
Nihon means Japan in japanese, desu~
Your googling skills need to improve dude.
Did Logan remind anyone else of No Country for Old Men? They felt very similar but I can't put my finger on why.
These are probably my top two favorite movies. I felt empty after seeing both. It's like I left a piece of myself with the movie.

Modern day westerns both emphasising mortality and how all of us could die in a horrible way without warning

>>80314723
Why don't more people make these types of movies? Green Room is another example of it being done well but without the western feel.
>ITT we post underrated 90s kino.
I'll start. Pic related.
I know its not as good as 3,4 and 5 but its still a great film that deserves more credit.
>>80314628
>The Fugitive premiered in the United States on August 6, 1993, and was a major critical and commercial success. It was the third-highest-grossing film of 1993 domestically, with an estimated 44 million tickets sold in the US. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture; Jones won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
Yeah, so underrated.
Why do Americans love mobshit so much?
>le dirty Sicilian peasant immigrants are criminal and psychotic and kill each other but with a le epic warped sense of honour
It's the most overrated genre ever
Sopranos, Goodfellas, the Godfather trilogy, they're all flick-tier pieces of entertainment - they're diverting, occasionally exciting, but they don't deserve to be venerated as timeless, classic masterpieces. It's almost as if Americans have some sort of societal hard-on for dynastic gangster capitalism...

>>80314593
Because it's actual American history told in short stories via film.

8/10 movie, right? What keeps it from being a masterpiece.
more like 7/10 due to poor articulation of poorly understood ideas
There were no cute shotas in this movie 1/10
The first half was pretty great.
The whole science and method behind learning the alien language, and the back and forth between them. That was really interesting and fun to watch.
It went to shit when suddenly the military was like
>NOW WE GONNA BLOW IT UP BECAUSE HURRRDURR AMERICAAAA
Then some shit about language being the ultimate solution for.. time travel or.. some shit. The fuck was that?
Great premise at first, but then it went downhill.
That's a big enchilada
Just give me the basic gestalt here
>>80314305
Weren't they going to do another one because the first one was so popular?

You have to start watching flicks at x1.25. Then x1.5. Until you can watch kino at x5. Also increase the definition with the series.
