Why do people think this guy did a good job? He is the worst Joker portrayal out there besides the faggot from Suicide Squad, he saps out everything that made the character special, and replaces it with
>MUH EDGE
>MUH MASTERMIND PLAN
>MUH SHIPS WITH EXPLOSIVES
>MUH HOO HOO HEE HEE HO HO HEE HEE
Garbage. Absolute garbage. He never even made a single good joke, besides maybe the pencil one, but the delivery is so gritty and dark it ruins the character.
Because he is a true villain. He's just somebody that decided if someone can be a vigilante for justice he will be one for destruction. He doesn't need a backstory or a love interest or goofy jokes.
>>81012464
The point of Joker is for him to be Batman's polar oppisite, hes supposed to be fun and carefree and at the same time cruel and merciless, hes supposed to constantly be cracking jokes and being goofy because its the complete other side of Batman, thats what makes the villain and hero work, because they're literally black and white.
This movie shit on this, hes just a mobster psychopath without a compelling story or an interesting plot.
Hes just a crazy dude with some guns, and you need a lot more than that to be a good Joker.
>>81012350
because the movie was played off as a realistic crime thriller with comic characters. rather than the cgi shitfest of all the movies since.
it showed that comic characters can be serious and interesting without all the superpowers and saving the world schlock
What's next for Natalie Portman's career?
Mel Bigson's deek

Doakes was never any kind of villain
haha surprise motherfucker, amirite guys? xD
>>80689448
doakes was never a villain, the show itself says "he was a good guy, he was doing his job, he was a good cop" and stuff. Then again, the protagonist wasa serial killerso i guess technically he was the "antagonist" which can be mistaken for villain
WE PLAGIARISM NOW

Is this really as good as TV gets?
>>81011308
I hate to say it, but I watched 1 episode then quit. Same with Sopranos.
It's the 1 show where I feel it deserved more of an effort from me. I'll go back and watch it one day.
One thing has been bugging me about the show's dialogue, like when character 1 says something and character 2 repeats what they said and adds ", huh?" in the end, nobody talks like that in real life.
>I think I'm fucked
>fucked, huh?
>>81011508
nigger, huh?

>"Nerd culture is the product of a late capitalist conspiracy, designed to infantalize the consumer as a means of non-aggressive control."
- Simon Pegg
>"A sweet-faced boy of twelve told me proudly that he had seen Star Wars over a hundred times? I said, 'do you think you could promise never to see Star Wars again?' He burst into tears. I just hope the lad, now in his thirties, is not living in a fantasy world of secondhand, childish banalities"
- Alec Guinness
>"I don't think they are making [comic book movies] an elevated art form, I think it's still just Batman running around in a stupid cape.. It's for kids, it's adolescent in its core. "
- David Cronenberg
>"I don't want to see or make films about super heroes that fly around in spandex and a cape solving the problems of the world. I think it's fine for children, children of all ages by the way, but it's not for me."
- William Friedkin
>“They have been poison, this cultural genocide, Because the audience is so overexposed to plot and explosions and shit that doesn’t mean nothing about the experience of being human.”
- Alejandro Iñárritu
>"Superman makes me vomit, Batman and all of that. That whole empire... this religion... It is so important that superheroes suffer... I don't give a damn, I shit on the United States."
- Alejandro Jodorowsky
>"To my mind, this embracing of what were unambiguously children's characters at their mid-20th century inception seems to indicate a retreat from the admittedly overwhelming complexities of modern existence"
- Alan Moore
>"The movies are for children but they don't want to admit that... There is a small group of fans that do not like comic sidekicks. They want the films to be tough like The Terminator, and they get very upset and opinionated about anything that has anything to do with being childlike."
- George Lucas

How it is possible than some fans can do a better fight than the entire group of specialists in a movie?
>>81004605
those "specialists" are ultimately still actors, not professional athletes or martial artists.
>>81004625
This.
At least in the prequels and disney films they make an attempt to emulate normal human motor function and reflex. In the OT it's like watching 2 toddlers play fighting.
>>81004625
The guy that played Darth Maul I think he is a stuntman or martial artist. And he did one of the best fights in Star Wars.
