>not pushing the Death Star into the sun
>>81394548
A: that destroyer was only able to be pushed because they hit it with Ion torpedos which disabled it.
B: They could never get close enough to the death star to hit it with the torpedos..
C: It'd take a fuck-ton of them to disable the death star
D: It'd probably take 100+ hammerheads to move the death star once it was disabled
E: In that particular scenario, it'd be easier to just knock it into the Scariff'sorbit and watch it crash planet-side.

Why did Catelyn Stark go to Renely's camp and not Stannis'? Stannis was the rightful king, Ned supported him.

Good question

Renly had the army.
She went to present an alliance against the Lannisters, not swear fealty to a new Baratheon king.

Good. This kind of behavior is absolutely disgusting. So she turns up, with a bunch of security and other things on her mind, and what happens then? How does he see this developing beyond the initial jej? This is a guy thinking that if he gets needy and measly enough, he'll get his paws on a perfect stranger he happens to have shuffled off a few knucklechildren to. Nobody with any sense would have accepted. These days, Mark David Chapman would have a fucking Kickstarter.

Serious charisma deficiency. Amos and Avarasala or even the OPA guy could be cute minor characters but the lack of a couple of charismatic actors in leading roles (Holden, I'm looking at you) really hurts it.
Also doesn't help that the story kills off the only guy that accomplished it in Thomas Jane (playing Miller, who was also a more interesting character overall, if familiar or even cliché) who isn't exactly a movie star and still stood head and shoulders above the rest, only to replace him with the really hammy martian muhreen.
It's a shame, really. The foundation is rock solid and a little more panache could've made this a big fucking hit.

They just list popular good movies. That has nothing to do with being patrician.
It's like saying pizza is your favorite food and because of that you have patrician taste.

What the fuck happened after Fury? Did he piss some exec off? Its all gone downhill since then.

He does, though. He was a really modestly talented pretty-boy actor who got ideas above his station.

The mission of /lbg/ is to promote the intelligent discussion of film as art by providing members with opportunities for intellectual discussion, by recognizing patrician taste through examinations and by calling out embryos as they arise.

Alternate QOTD: do you adhere to that notion that short films aren't films or whatever?

No one with a working brain does that.

GRRM has dementia and has forgotten what he was going to write.
When he inevitably prematurely dies, who will continue the series?
Reminder: Only Chris Tolkien & Guy Kay have ever continued a series of a dead author and maintained the quality level.
He's showing up late to the party because he knows that makes him cooler.
