If the writing staff for The Big Bang theory wrote an episode of Rick & Morty, nobody would be able to tell the difference.
Nope. You are just retarded.
>>81209821
The jokes on Rick & Morty are no different than a late-stage CBS sitcom.
Maybe it has more sass. Maybe more edge. Maybe the jokes are informed by a layman understanding of science so you can feel like a genius while laughing. At the end of the day, you're basically watching Friends but animated and with a little pizazz.

Unless you can write an essay-formatted post on what makes it a worthwhile film, and disprove it being a heartless cash-cow, then "I loved it" is baseless spew.

Where does this show rate among modern comedies? Need something new to watch but seems more of an emotional show rather than dark humour from what I'm reading.
>>81209098
>Six Feet Under
>modern comedy
Someone lied to you anon
>>81209098
No there's a lot of humor in it. This scene is from the first episode and is a good example of the type of humor in the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMpAWLjcKTQ
>>81209098
It has some dark comedy in it, but no one calls it a comedy. It's very heavy with melodrama and serious philosophizing.

I think you mean failure
Just saw this and thought it was a super generic, cliche-ridden coming of age story of a sad, cynical introverted person. It had its moments, but overall the characters aside from nadine are very poorly and thinly written, and the awkwardness (primarily between Nadine+Erwin) portrayed was completely over the top and unrealistic. Just because they're introverted doesn't mean they're autistic and can't form coherent sentences, ffs.
Sorry for the blogpost.
tl;dr: can someone explain this rating to me?
The dialogue is realistic, Nadine is a very well-written character and has a flawlessly executed arc, her relationship with Woody is great, etc. It's a solid movie. Not truly great or innovative in any way, but very solid.
>>81208714
I wouldn't say the dialogue is realistic, it has good bits that feel genuine and are relatable, but the age of the director definitely shows through most of the dialogue. Her relationships with the teacher is good and was one of my favorite parts for sure, but that's about it for character dynamics. Her best friend was completely empty, didn't even make an effort to help Nadine or their friendship.

seems like degeneracy
DAE remember seeing JLaw on this shitty TBS sitcom? How weird was it to hear about Winter's Bone, see that it's starring that girl from the Bill Engvall show and then realizing she's actually a good actor?
Why is she so perfect, bros?
>>81208546
slow you roll kid, what the fuck is dae
are you saying they? Never seen winter's bone or bill engvall, but shes a mediocre actress. One of the better ones, but not anything mindblowing here
>>81208753
You sound poor & or drunk.
Post more for laughs.
This well known "Celery Man/Tayne" sketch from Tim and Eric is actually a parody of a real, specific music video. Does anyone know what that music video is?
>actually a parody of a real, specific music video
According to whomst
>>81208414
I don't think it's a reference to a specific video.
They're just goofing on "tell computer to do X by voice" sequences on 80s and early 90s sci fi movies.
>>81208482
>>81208451
I've seen the video. I've just forgotten the name of it. It's a direct parody. It's some sort of Euro-Disco?
Which traits do you care for the most in an actor or actress?
>>81208385
That they can at least be somewhat competent with the roles given.
Big titties and a phat ass
