It's alright
Felt like a guest from 2010, or maybe I just stopped watching these kinds of movies.
Why is there no place for comfy casual films in modern cinema?

Isn't that what capeshit is for?
>>81765850
There are probably comfy film's out there but they're not going to be blockbusters.
A movie like pic related isn't going to make one billion or more at the box office.

do you think Daniels killed himself when the Wall Street Crash happened?
One would hope so

Was Plainview an investor? As far as the movies shows, all his money came from oil, so I doubt he'd even be touched.
i think they put him into prison.
Yeah he probably got a good lawyer but even with all that money he didnt have the contacts to get away with murder, especially the murder of a well known Preacher with a huge following.
after finding out Pratt woke her up because he was alone, she approaches him while he's in bed then proceeds to punch and kick him all over, then even almost beats him with a metal bar but stops. Imagine if the roles were reversed.
Alt-right babies logic:

Probably to continue making episodes for what's easily the greatest comedy (animated or otherwise) of all time.

It's VOD Tuesday!
Today we have an interesting found footage film that seems to be getting a lot of good reviews and actually seems innovative.
This seems to be what VHS should have been in the first place, lads.
>A genre-defying mixture of horror, sci-fi, myth, mystery and thrills told as four interlocking tales in one intelligent anthology. Ghosts, spirits, creatures, demons and more from the paranormal world collide with rational curiosity.

Looks different. Cheers I'll give it a spin

Anthologies are short, which is perfect for found footage storytelling. Go away.

Will you go out with me?

There's a moment in Click when Christopher Walken fucks up a line and he stops for a moment, glances over to the director, and when the director doesn't yell cut Walken hesitantly continues to deliver the line.

Cgi Carrie found her coke stash
How much more material from the first three films do you think they'll dredge up in the next few years after the Death Star plans and Han Solo's backstory?
>>81765267
I got a little teary eyed at that ending, especially since Carrie died just two days before I saw the movie.
>tfw Carrie's mother literally died of a broken heart
OMG LIFE IS SO TERRIBLE AND HUMANITY IS OUT FOR THEMSELVES WITH NO EXCEPTIONS! EVERYTHING IS BLEAK AND MEANINGLESS, FREEDOM IS A TERRIFYING THING TO STUPID PEOPLE, AND THE WORLD IS A COLD AND UNFORGIVING PLACE! LET ME DEMONSTRATE THIS BY HOLDING THE CAMERA ON THE DESOLATE BARREN WASTELAND AND THE PATHETIC MONGRELS WHO ARE THE CHARACTERS FOR MINUTES AND MINUTES AT A TIME AS THE AUDIENCE SHIFTS UNCOMFORTABLY UNDER THEIR GAZE! HA HA HA HA! I AM SUCH A GENIUS! THANK GOD I WASN'T PURGED BY STALIN OR ELSE I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SHARE THIS MASTERFUL VISION WITH THE WORLD! YES, YES, LOOK AT HOW SHE TORTURES THE CAT! IT IS A METAPHOR FOR THE CORRUPTION OF POWER! YES! POWER... CORRUPTION... HUMANITY SUCKS! NOW GIVE ME MORE MONEY TO FUND MY NEXT NIHILISTIC MASTERPIECE!

I saw a screening of this followed by a Q&A with Tarr and it was great. Don't think the movie would be quite as impactful when not watched in a theater, though.
I cannot believe the nonentity Tarr receives any sort of praise.
Mediocre. Fakes realism with easy platitudes( the thing you are mocking) coupled with some puffed up tense-looking but really a very loose type of filming. Do that and voila you've tricked the film school elite into creaming their pants over you.
>>81765186
me too... was it in Amsterdam?
As far as flicks go, this was an enjoyable one, but I just had too much issues with it, because the premise seemed interesting and too bad they didn't use it's potential.
My main gripe was how the characters were retarded at times and didn't fight off vampires using their intelligence and their cunning, especially when they were in that grocery store. I mean, you had a lot of the material for bombs and other diverting shit, why not fucking use it instead of waiting for someone to distract them and die, only so you can run off another mile or so? Why can't people use logic in flicks like this? Why do they always pointlessly fight and split up only to put themselves into a worse situation than the one before? And yeah, you can excuse that guy whom went out after his father because he was his father, but that was one of the most retarded decisions a character made in this flick, because why the fuck would you even try if you're already aware of the fact that he's pretty much good as dead. The ending fight when Eben turns himself into a vampire to fight of their leader seemed so cheesy and stupid, but the ending itself where they looked at the sunset together was solid and a little bit cute, if I may say so myself. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I liked the idea where they made that little girl a vampire, since it looks so innocent, yet it's another disgusting bloodsucker.
Overall, enjoyable flick to pass time, but nothing more than that. The premise, while sounding interesting, wasn't that well executed and if someone capable was in charge, maybe that would be another story. Also, yeah, I realize this might be me just nitpicking it and what not, but I just felt characters running from a to b, from b to c was a stupid decision and they should have either gone the route of having all of the town folks killed or making the 6-7 people that were alive fight 'em off using their intelligence and cunning.
Has anyone read the graphic novel, is it worth checking out?

Since the launch of TLOU, there hasn't been one movie that managed to create such a strong narrative, character development, immersion and relationship between two characters who initially don't know eachother.
Step it up Hollywood
You're waiting for someone to say Logan, right?
OP you fucking retard
>>81764988
>>81765031
Lads please, we all know Logan is literally a poor man's TLOU at best. You can't achieve in two hours the absolute kino relationship arch Joel and Ellie built in about 10 hours.
