What are your thoughts on this guy's films?

not that good
>>82255557
Have you tried his earlier work? When i first discovered him, I watched Melancholia and found it good but not fantastic, then I saw Dogville, Dancer In the dark and pleasantly surprised...I think his last films aren't as good as his first ones
What does /tv/ think of this?

I just got back from it.
Better than the first, I can see why some people didn't like it but I had a good time with it.
A lot darker than the first, especially in the third act. It balances it out with humor and does so pretty well, but I couldn't help but notice how much they made death mean something (aside from scenes with the blob of course)
It's much more of a character piece, by which I mean they seperate the ensemble to focus on building them up so they work better as a whole. It's unconventional, and lord knows the MCU needs a shot of that about now.
They finally solved their problem with color, and boy do they fucking know it. Everything in this movie is drenched in an electric rainbow color scheme, which I personally really enjoyed.
Humor doesn't land 100% of the time, the opening Mr. Blue Sky sequence and Mantis/Drax dragged on a little while.
Of the 5 end credit sequences about two or three are worth watching. Last one is just an extension of Stan Lee's cameo in this.
So why was she and the blind guy not acting creepy despite being in on it? Other than "because there had to be a twist".

> Other than "because there had to be a twist".
That's it bro. It's film language to set up your brain so they can trick you.
revive, thread!
>>82255147
why would the girl act creepy? she had to lure him to the house
the blind guy was the one dude who seemed to treat him like a regular person so yeah it was just a twist that he ended up being the one to buy him
Does anyone have a list of everything that Ben Sanderson drinks in Leaving Las Vegas?
Also general discussion of this film. I'm rewatching it tonight.
>>82254860
I love Leaving Las Vegas. Almost as much as I love alcohol.
> get paranoid that I might have herpes (long story)
> rub hand sanitizer all over lips
> get paranoid about isopropyl poisoning
> start drinking vodka because that's how you counter methanol poisoning
I was reminded of the scene where he's chugging a bottle of vodka in the shower.
The guy that wrote the novel was so disappointed with the film version that he killed himself
looking for a disturbing, heart-wrenching, gut-twisting fucker of a movie to watch tonight
something that explores the darker parts of human nature
anything along the lines of bad boy bubby, gummo, julian donkey boy, dogtooth, ex drummer etc
or it can be lighter and more comedic, e.g. wild tales
please no basic hollywood shit
thanks /tv/

What will the Simpsons ending be like?
Remake of the first episode, but at the part where Homer is about to kill himself, he actually dies and the rest of the 2-hour special is the Simpson family reacting to Homer's death in a realistic, serious tone.

Family guy did that with Brian you stupid fuck.
