You liked Psylocke's leotard. You liked the young, attractive version of Professor X. You liked Moira McTaggart. You liked Storm's accent. You liked Quicksilver's mansion save. You liked every scene where Apocalypse said or did something. You liked the scene where Jean started walking on air.
You didn't like Jennifer Lawrence. You didn't like Beast. You didn't like the inconsistencies in character abilities. You didn't like the overuse of Magneto again. You didn't like the under use of the four horsemen. You didn't like the unnecessary cameo by Wolverine. You didn't like Sophie Turner's rooster neck.
it wasn't a leotard it was a full body suit with flesh colored sections around the thighs and crotch
>>82690704
Pretty accurate OP, but the Wolverine cameo.
Why? Because it still work if you never ever saw a movie with Wolverine, it shows how they are searching for mutants and a few just say "fuck you", they look pretty fucking young and naives in that scene compared to the gruff man.
I think it was ok.

Underappreciated masterpiece or actual mediocrity?
I'm genuinely asking
It's not as simple as that...
True Detective season 2 was ambitious but flawed. It had severe pacing issues which, as with the first season, crippled it immensely. However, it's biggest problem was having too many protagonists. The story was genuinely engaging but the moment we start actually learning about a character's backstory or motivations, we would switch to the next character, then the next character, and wouldn't get back to any one of them (at least in a meaningful way) until next week. It had great performances, a compelling plot, and wonderful cinematography, but the A.D.D. character development really killed it for me.
Overall worth watching despite it's flaws.

Two great things about season 2 - Lera Lynn and Rey Velcoro. Well, maybe Vince is good too.

I caught up with the manga over the last few weeks. So Negan cripples Rick wtf. How will general audiences react to that? I hope in the show that he uses Lucille to bust his kneecap instead of doing some wrestling move. It bugs me how he never used his precious bat on any human besides Glenn.
>>82690233
How does it end exactly? Isn't the Negan arc the end of the comics? So doesn't that mean the show is almost done?
>>82690440
No
>after the war with negan there's a 2 year time skip
>all the communities are working together and everything is great
>group of baddies that wear zombie skin come out and kill a bunch of main characters
>negan kills their leader
>the new bad group unleash a giant mega horde of zombies on hilltop and alexandria and everything gets fucked
>during the mess a group of saviors decide its time to get what they want
>their leader tries to kill rick and he accidentally kills her in return
>ends with andrea dying and everyone being inspirational and shit
>>82690440
It isn't over, but the end of their war is a good place to drop the series. Everything gets tied up in a pretty bow. Negan gets locked in prison so he gets to suffer while the world rebuilds. You can read it as "The End."
The story arc after that is called A New Beginning. It skips over a few years of total peace. Everyone is older of course, people have built wind mills and other shit, nobody drives cars anymore. More people use swords etc. Then eventually the drama starts happening again. So far I can't tell if something new will happen or if it will all be repeats. It's kinda cool seeing people grow forgetful of all Rick has done for them and forget how dangerous the world really is. Rick has to lay down the law. Kinda more villainous. Idk if the author will do anything interesting or if it will be reruns, but I'm willing to keep reading I guess since I am caught up it's only 16 pages or whatever a month.
>Practical effects are better than CGI
>>82690140
The thing is that it's the real deal, eh ??? We live in the period that the more spending you project on the CGI, the better scene you get. Furthermore, the more high-definitioned tool come around in & out of industry. That leaves to the two ways that use it effectively if you ain't have enough budget or just go nuts if you have the money to throw around.
>>82690140
Practical effects are scarier than cgi desu
Is this the next film we're supposed to hate regardless of how it really is? Just making sure.

We're talking about a director whose very existence challenges our own sense of priority in the universe. And you go back to Copernicus where he restored the sun in the center of the known universe, displacing Earth. And you get to Darwinian evolution and you find out we're not special on this earth. We're just one among other lifeforms. And now we learn that we're not even special in the entire universe because there is Snyder. There he is, a visionary among us. We're not alone.
>Is it really surprising that the most visionary director in the world is a figure of controversy?
Was suckerpunch some form of punishment his holiness hath metted out?
We're talking about a director whose very existence challenges our own sense of priority in the movie business.
And you go back to Orsen Wells where he restored the movie in the center of the known story-telling, displacing books. And you get to Hitchcockian filmaking and you find out we're not special using a MacGuffin. We're just one among many other directors. And now we learn that we're not even special in the Cinematic Movie Verses because there is Snyder.
There he is, a visionary among us. We're not alone.
