So I'm seeing some mixed reviews on Alien: Covenant so far. I'm bored as fuck and I want to go out and see a movie tonight. Is this worth my 11 dollhairs? I just want to be entertained for a bit.

It's entertaining with some good scenes, a genuinely creepy performance from Fassbender, and really played the body horror angle well. But had some plot holes. Worth seeing, atleast as a matinee.

Is there anything media-related from your childhood that hasn't been ruined?
Predator's turned to shit. Alien's turned to shit. Terminator's turned to shit. Star Wars/Trek have turned to shit.
And if it wasn't a continuation, it was a reboot/remake/reimagining/prequel. The Thing, Robocop, Total Recall.

I loved this movie when I was 11, and it still seems like it would be pretty good. I remember it being funny and liking the steampunk stuff. I don't remember ever hearing anyone defend this one, but no one ever says why, so convince me it's as bad as everyone says it is.
