Tell me why do people like Nolan's Batman again? It's absolute trash, no one wants to watch realistic superhero movie
>>87242437
I thought it was a great villain and loved every second he was onscreen.
I don't want any of that goofy comic book shit in a Nolan Batman.

>white father

PLOT HOLE
>>87242461
Was it really that difficult for you to realize the black female protagonist was the mom?
It was a cool film. It felt like a game of chess, where the characters were thinking three or four steps ahead at all time. I liked its message about survival, how contemporary morals don't belong in life and death situations. I especially liked howthe father did everything right. Everything. But he still wound up being the bad guy in the end, and he couldn't save his son. That's a pretty brutal message and it was executed flawlessly.
But I don't think this film would hold up to repeat viewings. The tension comes from not knowing what will happen, once you know, you're just waiting for boring scenes to finish. Like when the dad goes outside at night to see if there are others with Will. They show him looking around at night. The paranoia comes entirely from the viewer's head, not from the way the scene is filmed or what happens in the scene, because nothing happens. When you know nothing will happen, you're just waiting for the scene to end.
The film doesn't leave much open to interpretation, either. It would have been nice if there were some red herrings or clues or something to review repeated viewing and different interpretations.
>season 1 = god tier, one of the best television shows ever produced

>Major movie studios are barely offering any wide releases for Labor Day weekend, a very unhappy ending to a summer filled with blockbuster flops. The number of movie tickets sold this summer is likely to hit a 25-year low and this weekend’s take, while typically small, may hit the kind of record that makes studio executives sink in their chairs.
>For Hollywood, the seasonal doldrums are coming at a particularly bad time. Tech giants such as Netflix, Apple, Amazon and Google are committing billions of dollars to muscle into the business of making movies and shows — and all of these companies want audiences to watch from the comfort of their living room sofas.
>“It's been a bad summer-movie session,” said Ross Gerber, president of Gerber Kawasaki, an investment-management firm based in Santa Monica, Calif. “But there is a bigger thing going on here.” Gerber and others point to a wider malaise affecting the entire legacy entertainment ecosystem. Thanks to a confluence of circumstances — blockbuster events on television, the encroachment of online streaming services, the inexorable pull of social media and sequel fatigue — audiences now have more reasons than ever to stay home. And without a must-see tent-pole feature luring huge audiences into auditoriums, going to the movies just wasn’t what it used to be.
>“Stocks are getting destroyed because investors have concluded that if nobody is going to the movies now, then they are never going back — which is just wrong,” said Michael Pachter, a research analyst at Wedbush Securities, a Los Angeles-based investment bank.
