Hiro said we are allowed one meta thread per board, so here goes.
OFFICIAL /tv/ META THREAD!
Some topics to get things going, I've changed some because I felt we've gone over them already. Ofcourse, feel free to contribute your own topics.
>1. Should we be more lax on the moderation? This board feels like nazi germany sometimes, you have to be really careful not to break any rules.
>2. Frogposts! For or against?
>3. How can we effectively deal with viral marketers trying to sell us movies? I suggest we all take up tripcodes so we can keep track of if people are loyal to certain brands or companies, and keep that in mind when reading their reviews.
>4. Plenty of movies have nude scenes. I suggest we turn /tv/ into a red board. It doubles with keeping reddit and the phoneposters away.
>5. kino => sugoi, bane => dead meme
Star Wars threads should be banned. They've become meme generals based on some fake retard leaks that only underage redditors find funny.
>LOL SLOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XDD
Is it time for Baneposters to rise up against the hothead tyranny?
BAN EVERYTHING I DON'T LIKE
Do you think that actors taking extreme measures to commit to a character is a good thing, or a bad thing? Examples such as: Christian Bale drastically changing his muscle mass and weight in the span of a few years for various roles. Or this one, where Jonah Hill seems to keep gaining back an immense amount of weight for all the films he's in after he's gotten himself in shape.
It adds authenticity to the film, and improves the viewing experience for the audience but at the cost of the actor's health. Is it worth it?
Jonah Hill now has a better body than 95% of /tv/.
I think it's a talking piece for fans and good publicity for the actors but as far as adding to the 'authenticity' of a film goes it is not nearly as important as you'd think.
this guy's weight fluctuates like a fucking yo-yo, bet he won't make it to 45.
Thoughts?

Never watched it, but im sure no one who doesn't frequent the internet for longer than an hour even knows what this is.
>Alan Scherstuhl's review for The Village Voice suggested that many of those providing funding for the film may have themselves been men's rights activists, thereby creating a conflict of interest.[10] Jaye has said that the suggestion the film was funded by MRAs (men's rights activists) is "a common lie that keeps spreading."[2] One of the largest pledges to the film was by Mike Cernovich, who pledged $10,000 to the Kickstarter project. In a blog post he stated he was "not funding The Red Pill to help MRAs" but that the film will "help all men, and all women, and all children."[5] Jaye stated that "our five highest backers ... are neither MRA nor feminist. I would say three out of five of them didn't even know about the men's rights movement, but wanted to defend free speech,"[5] and that the film's backers and producers would have no influence or control of the film.[2][5]

Can the media stop portraying "tHe ReD PiLl" as just some gender politic thing. It's not just some MRA bullshit.

what
>>83839760
According to our latest leaks it's some fantasy creature Rey fights in a cave similar to Luke fighting fantasy Vader in the cave on Dagobah. She kills it and Ghost Yoda is bummed because she was supposed to tame it.

Would films like Ace Ventura or Ace Ventura 2 be allowed in today's PC culture? With the transexual plot of the first film and the African tribe plot of the second film. I love those movies, but I think modern audiences would find them problematic.
A very small group of people would make a big fuss about it but most normies would still find it funny because in reality a majority of people are still pretty disgusted by trannys.
>>83839385
not even things from 4 years ago would make it in today's PC world.
>>83839385
Definitely not Ace Ventura 1. The whole realization scene is objectively transphobic.
Ace Ventura 2 might be seen as controversial (muh white savior trope) but would redeem itself because the white man was the real villain in the end.

>Captain America is a poster boy for the WW2 glory days of America
>Both of them are blonde-haired, blue-eyed Aryan ubermensch
Acting like you guys are the victims is pretty laughable, desu.
No one is saying anything about the movie itself. Everyone is laughing at actual black people that are now acting like Wakanda is what Africa would look like if white people never existed.
you're sounding pretty assblasted there, jamal
Black Panther looks really cool actually and this is coming from a white nationalist. I like the idea of a super advanced black nation and all that I just think actual blacks reaction to it is funny
