>portrays pharaoh as a tragic anti-villain who loves his brother deeply and feels so (rightly) betrayed by his actions
>portrays moses as having serious doubts, wishing desperately he did not have to serve on god's behalf against his brother
>shows the plagues as horrific and overkill, specifically the death of the firstborns as senseless and tragic
ya nah, do'.

I think the episodes got bland when they started to focus on the other cops. That episode with Liam neesan sucked cuz of the lady cop

Who the fuck is gonna watch this? I am one of the few people who like the original. Not because it's such a great movie, but because it's a periode piece.
>FLATliners
>Ellen Page
Sounds about right.
It's a sequel sneak reboot
I've recently watched;
The VVitch - 6/10
The Conjuring - 5/10
The Wailing - 6.5/10
American Werewolf in London - 9/10 has one of the greatest transformation scenes I've ever seen.
Don't Breathe - 7/10
VHS - 7.5/10
We Go On - 8/10
Yellowbrickroad - 6/10
>>83917218
The Wailing is more an 8/10 I think.
The vampire/succubus tape from V/H/S deserves its own movie.
Also The Wailing does deserve a higher rating.
Anyone watched the two Ouija movies? Are they good? Thinking about watching tonight.

>The vampire/succubus tape from V/H/S deserves its own movie.
She got one this year named Siren or something with the same actress, but I haven't watched yet.
Why do people like this. It's campy and poorly-written
its stilll better than most tv, except maybe bcs
saw the first 3 episodes of this before giving up a while back
blue velvet and mulholland drive were important films for me when i was a kid but i've outgrown lynch's schtick at this point
>>83917142
Maybe it worked better in the nineties? Idk, I just feel like we've reached a certain point with tv, where it can be just as cinematic, serious, and crazy as movies. With GoT, Fargo Season 1, True Detective Season 1, etc
reminder this happened
No it didn't progressiveism is a thing we millennials invented in the '00s
>>83916952
reminder this happened
>>83916952
Nah, actually happened.
And, it was beautiful.
>>83917336
So was this, a little bit more-so.
Why did critics shit all over this movie? It was great.
>The Place Beyond the Pines is hackneyed and dull: Not a single moment rings true.
>Derek Cianfrance could probably be a great filmmaker if he wasn't trying so hard to be a Great Filmmaker
>It's rare to see a picture so bogged down by the breadth of its ambition, but Derek Cianfrance's second feature nearly collapses under its own weight.
>The Place Beyond the Pines isn't a bad movie; it's three bad movies strung together by implausible logic.
>By the third story, in a movie that is two hours and twenty minutes long, I had grown weary of the film's heavy-handedness
>A jumbled triptych that frequently meanders without finding its center.
>What Cianfrance has written has scraps of surprise and a fine chase sequence, but it doesn't reach for the stars or the emotional cosmos -- or, at least, it doesn't know how to get there.
>The mythically tinged final scene brings events full circle in a way that is superficially satisfying while also conceding that the movie's chief concern is men and the art of motorcycle maintenance.
it was pretty well received
>God tier
First act
>Shit tier
Act 2 and 3

is there any hope left Mel comes back one more time as old man Max
Nu-mad max is basically feminist capeshit.
Mel would never stoop so low to be part of such plebian flicks.
>>83916702
t. I get all my movie news from Salon and hysterical /pol/ threads on /tv/
Fury Road is about a bunch of women who try to escape a warlord with no real plan, who need Max to save them individually or as a group multiple times during the movie, and who ultimately guides them away from commiting suicide to turning and fighting to gain a place of security.
It's "feminism" extends to Furiosa being competent and rugged looking and not fighting everyone by wrapping her thighs around their face like female capeshit seems contractually obliged to do at some point.
It's no more feminist than Edge of Tomorrow, it just got hyped as such for unfathomable reasons whereas EoT didn't.
>>83916702
>Nu-mad max is basically feminist capeshit.
when fury road is what feminist capeshit looks like then I want more of it.
What did Marvel mean by this ?
If I were black I'd be offended
>caring about how marvel portrays some nig-nog in a fantasy world.
>going to a capeshit movie expecting it to reflect reality accurately at all.
>>83916514
Anyone who gets offended over that is a weak feeble minded faggot.
I've seen this picture like 100 times now. Are you telling me in good faith that this is NOT an edit for comedic effect? This is actually in the movie?
How edgy
>discriminating based on the color of someone's skin
