Would the last book you read make a good movie or tv show?

I would love to see Raptor Red as a movie, but it would just end up being "walking with dinosaurs" carnivore edition.

was the full-on homo-gay-fag sex super necessary? I literally had to close my eyes after first shock and horror on a scene that went on fall too long and showed 4 different gay sex positions. Goddamn cannot be unseen. I mad. I got enough in my head, I don't need even the hint of faggot shit in there. Great show though.

Yeah it is. You won't understand it unless you watch a bunch of 80's summer movies or you're just of a certain age and grew up with it.
Not criticizing you but it was made for a really specific audience.

POST RARE CORNHEADS OR BTFO
I know it's been a while since it came out, but can someone explain this episode?
1.Why were the characters the age that they were in San Junipero? Why not older?
2.Where did different servers where you could choose to go to based on the year? And how did the simulation decide what haircut you'd have in that particular year?
3.Why does Kelly act like such a bitch at the end? Didn't she love Yorkie? Why was the choice to die so difficult?
I don't know whether I hate this episode because of the pandering or because people love this episode because of the pandering.
>>84201794
It's a great episode. The ending was a bit strange, but other than that, it was an incredible idea that was incredibly executed.

Hey /tv/ I am in dire need of movies that portray combat in a realistic manner.
I mean, I need top-tier realism, the best of the best, practically like it was taken from real life and put onto the screen.
For reference, here are some good examples:
(Pic related) Royal Space Force: Flat-spins, Gun-camera-style footage, Drop-tanks, con trails, it's all here. If you're a lover of aerial combat like i am, the last ten-twenty minutes of this movie will make you giddy with excitement. Furthermore, if you love immersive worlds and aviation in general, this movie is the one for you.

Come And See (Idi I Smotri): A well-renowned movie with rather stellar acting for a film practically buried and forgotten by the mainstream. However, if you even have the slightest interest in cinema, you've probably heard of it. I'm listing this because of one scene in particular that sums up realism to a shining point: As the main character and another Belorussian milk a cow in the middle of a field, a flare erupts from the tree-line, shining light upon our protagonist and his buddy. As they gaze at the light, tracers spurt from the tree-line, forcing the main character to duck as tracers go flying overhead, ricocheting off of the ground dozens of feet behind him. The realism in this scene mainly comes from the engagement range, the use of a flare to illuminate the target (They probably were sighting in on the Slavs while they were moving into the field), and the fact that they used real ammunition during shooting (Yes, those are actual tracer bullets being fired at the cameraman/actor).
Battle of Britain: Replicas, Models, Functioning Reproductions, yes-yes-yes! This movie is extraordinarily realistic: Coolant spilling out of engines, pilots freezing up as the adrenaline floods their brains, pilot injuries that render the aircraft useless, failed parachutes, everything you could want is in here.
That's about it, thanks.

"I DID MY WAITING... 12 YEARS OF IT... IN AZKABAN!"
12 years is far too long to wait in one of the dullest franchises in the history of movie franchises. Each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>a-at least the books were good though r-right
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

ITT: give tips on how to convincingly criticize movies you haven't seen and know little about
Usually what I always do is just call it derivative and say the characters were underdeveloped.
The first description always seems to work because no one ever argues the film discussed is original, they always just go on about how nothing's truly original these days and blah blah blah and it makes it look like you win because they're still admitting you're right.
The second one always works too because people don't seem to know how to argue that a character really is developed. They just kind of go, "What are you talking about? The characters are super deep man. You're just being a pleb," and you still win again because it's the other person who starts to argue with name calling.
just emulate armond white and don't forget to criticize everything as 'insincere/inauthentic'

If you do this I will always be able to tell you're lying. Do not try it. I will be watching you.
