Having nothing better to do I decided to catch up with the last seasons of South Park. Why the fuck did they adopt this "continuity" format tying all the episodes togheter? It sucks.
And yeah, you guys were right, these seasons arent't funny in the slightest (some jokes were good, but out of the whole season I'd save around a fifth of it, at best).
After 20 years you run out of ideas.
>>84414443
That's exactly my feeling, South Park now really shows brand fatigue. Introducing new characters is a good idea, but this shit of making season that follow the same plotline is stupid, especially because in the end things have to go back at the original status quo for the series to continue.

>some jokes were good, but out of the whole season I'd save around a fifth of it, at best
Name one show on it's 20th season you wouldn't say this about.
What are your favorite obscure "tropes" in movies? I mean moment which happen sometimes in movies or tv that aren't really cliche always make you happy to see.
Mine is when a reluctant character fully commits themselves to a new costume/act when nobody expects them too and they end up really enjoying it or doing well at it. I can barely think of examples, but Crichton in "Crackers Don't Matter" comes close. It's basically this massive triumph of silliness culminating in him fucking impaling the villain of the week with a sword, and it feels earned and awesome. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
>>84414324
Best episode.
>>84414348
Yes. I love when the villain is screaming about needing more light and how his people are everywhere but they are never seen again in the series. It's just so good.
The last lift of the sword after complaining is one of my favorite moments in tv history.

Damn I have nothing to add but I know exactly what you mean and that's a great thread idea.
>claim to be immortal
>many elves get killed in battle
Is this the biggest plot hole second only to the eagles?
Immortal =/= Invincible
>>84414150
no,actually when they get "killed" they go to valinor and make respawn and get a new body.
elves are permanently bonded to earth, they dont have an afterlife.

>>84414014
Some still have kids.
soBorden gave Angier a 'false' tip-off about Tesla as the engineer behind his transported man trick, even though he had no real idea of what Tesla could do? (and Tesla didn't even know he could make clones until they discovered the hats) he'd only seen him at that science expo but it didn't mention anything about clones, so was it just luck?
>>84413690
Big boss used venom snake as a decoy for the first test of Outer Heaven.
tesla knew what it did, that's why he was hesitant about building a new one
>>84413690
I was always under the impression Borden knew what Tesla's machine can do. He just decided the sacrifice isn't worth the reward and opted to stick to illusions. Then he decides to give Angier Tesla's name, because he knows if Angier goes for it, he will find nothing but misery in the long run.

>minimal dialogue
Good. He's learning.
>phonies pretending that Nolan makes good movies
whatever go watch your garbage Batman movies and Intershitter
>minimal dialogue
Das it mane. Nolan's trivial, incessant dialogue and stupid one-liners were always one his biggest flaws.

So /tv/ is this film any good if you don't speak japanese?
I've been wanting to branch out from American/hollywood films and into the international world of film, and for my first asian film, I wanted to know if this is a good choice.
>>84413217
Yes, now watch it.
Yojimbo or Rashomon anons? Trying to decide which to rent from my uni library.
>>84413263
Yojimbo, then Rashomon. If you liked both, go for Seven Samurai, Ran, etc. And when you're finished with Kurosawa's samurai films, look for Ikiru.
what the FUCK did I just watch
