So, at which speed do you guys watch your films?
In my case i don't have a real preference,i change the speed depending on the film. sometimes i even change the speed in the middle of the film depending on the pace of the scene (i recommend to keybind the Speed+/speed- to the left and right click in the mouse)
For example if it's a fast paced action film like The Raid or The Tuxedo i usually use 1.0x speed or maybe 1.1x because some scenes turn into real clusterfucks if you go more than that, and if im watching something like Werckmeister harmóniák a Hou Hsiao-Hsien film or an Ozu film i can go up to 1.5x or 1.6x, i think it's the best speed for these kind of films because you can still enjoy the cinematography without feeling like you are missing something.
But for some films i do the opposite, i watched most of Stan Brakhage's shorts at 0.3x speed and it was incredible, the same with Jonas Mekas.
So, what should i do anon's,should i keep changing the speed like this depending of the film? I know that there is a debate about this and some people say in other sites that the best way to go is to train the eye for a certain speed and watch all the films like that, but i just don't have the force of will for that .... is it worth it?

Do yourself a favour and try to go for 1.2x always, it works the best for most films and in the end you save a lot of time by not having to change the speed mid film

I try not to change the speed at all because silly as it sounds I feel like I'm insulting the director/editor by not watching the film at the intended pace, but if it's a more popcorn-y flick or an episode of a sitcom or something, I'll speed it up to around 1.2, sometimes even double speed if I'm really hating it but feel compelled to "finish" it.
