>It's the near future in Los Angeles, and climate change keeps temperatures soaring, and water is as scarce as oil. Crime is so rampant that authorities only bother punishing cases of extreme violence, and even the city's last remaining good cop isn't immune from the chaos. Arthur Bailey's only hope for survival is to join dangerous femme fatale Grace on a twisted cross-country death race. The race's host is a vaudevillian nightmare, the drivers are homicidal deviants, and the last participant to arrive at each checkpoint has his or her head explode. Even the cars aren't typical gas-powered machines, as they run on human blood. When Bailey goes missing to take part in the race, his partner, Chris, leads an investigation to figure out what happened to him, and it quickly turns into the most deranged case of Chris' career.

The original nightmare on elm street movie was a confusing mess. It's like they settled on the fact that all they wanted to make was a movie based on the concept of dreaming, but couldn't agree on what they wanted. The movie fails because there's no rules for this concept. You can say that it's meant to be confusing, And that's what makes it good to most people. To me, that just seems like a shit way to cover for a shit film. Hell, I liked the sequel and the remake better. The sequel, while still a bit of a confusing ride too felt a bit more worked on, and the characters weren't anything but teenagers. Jesse comes off as relatable and likeable. He acts just like how your supposed to act when dealing with a burned up ghost. Not trying to mock it and then just say it doesn't exist. The remake was good to me because it finally gave the whole dream thing rules, and it gave a good explanation for why the kids could see him even when they were awake. Big plus for making Freddy actually creepy again. The make up was kind of dumb, admittedly. I think the main thing I could say I didn't like about it was that the teens seemed way too bland.

I love horror but in the 70s and 80s the standards for coherent plotlines and endings that aren't tacked on were much lower. People wanted to be scared, see tits, and have a fun time. Most Freddy movies have terrible endings, they're just cheap entertainment, the directors and writers weren't trying to make great pieces of art.

What the hell was Tom Cruise's mission anyway? He didn't even fuck anyone at the sex party, he just wandered around like a weird autist virgin. If he got caught he could at least go, "well at least I got laid," but he had to make it all weird. Also why did they have to do all this weird cult shit just to fuck around anyway? This movie's weird.

Critics actually, unironically complained that this movie was slow-paced.

That's how far we've regressed cinematically.

It all started when a time travel experiment I was conducting went...a little ca-ca. In the blink of a cosmic clock I went from quantum physicist to air force test pilot, which could have been fun...if I knew how to fly. Fortunately, I had help. An observer from the project named Al. Unfortunately, Al's a hologram, so all he can lend is moral support. Anyway, here I am. Bouncing around time, putting things right which once went wrong. A sort of time traveling Lone Ranger, with Al as my Tonto. And I don't even need a mask. Oh, boy.

I'm sure they'll eventually reboot or make a continuation of that somehow.
>>

On Showtime directed by David Lynch. And he every new body he leaps into is some interdimensional horror entity each stuck inside a different nightmare purgatory room which phases in and out with local midwest American donut shops.
>>
>>84625058
I think that if they do make a reboot or whatever, they should try a bit harder with coming up for the science and reason behind the leaping. Like, instead of the whole "good deeds" bullshit, every person he leaps into is destined to die prematurely unless he can change something, just like the first episode.

Funny, I just watched this movie yesterday. I couldn't help but think from minute one how fucking retarded all of the characters were. Why the fuck wouldn't their "growth lab" have a decontaminate / eject into fucking space button?

Retarded movie

>>84624956
Why did they have a fucking bondage rat in their containment lab?

You telling me that the only way they could see if it was alive after a night was to electrocute it? Not even bother poking it with a stick or anything? Why was everyone in this film so fucking retarded?

Why were there black Thymescarians?
