now that the dust has settled can we all agree that this was shit?
Pros:
- Good acting by Keaton
- Holland was an ok Parker and spidey
- Vulture was ok, but nothing special
Cons:
- Shit tier action scenes
- Even worse quipfest than the previous capeshits
- Zero serious moments, jokes literally every 2 minutes
- Too much suit, spidey was literally using the shitty suit for 80% of the movie and was looking through walls and eavesdropping on people. Too much stark technology just meh
- New mary jane and flash thompson literally vomit inducing and not because of race but because they were shit characters
- Too much avengers bullshit, doesn't feel like a movie that will be recognized on its own.
- RDJ phoning his role in like usual
- Just a weak plot overall
- Peter is supposed to be 15 but he looks like a 22 year old.
main problem is that it was just another capeshit blockbuster, no memorable moments, no tension and no emotion.

Nope.
The movie was fucking awesome.
It's a fun superhero family flick.
Hero even saves the villain in the end.
Perfect character growth with him deciding he really isn't ready to be an Avenger.
And that Cap end credit was epic.
Best spiderman movie to date.
Can't wait for the next one!

Poor Michael Keaton probably thought this would be his Joker moment. His chance to leave an impression as an iconic cinematic villain. How was he supposed to know these movies are specifically crafted to be as unmemorable as possible.

I don't think that was his intention at all.
He already had his "Joker moment" when he got to be Beetlejuice and Batman. When I think about it, the dude has had a great career and legacy.
Vulture is pretty good, but it was never going to be his most memorable performance. I don't think he even cares. When he promotes Homecoming or is on late night shows, he's always like "I am Batman".
For phoning it in and doing it for a paycheck, he did pretty well for Vulture. Saying he's the best MCU villain isn't really a compliment when most of them save for 1-2 have been unmemorable, but he did shine in Homecoming. The door and car scene were pretty good.

First half was strong, then it kind of turned into a massive cliche fest. Especially the first attack by the alien was really well done, it was intense. In fact I was kind of hoping he'd stay small the entire film, but I guess you can't have everything
Ending would've been better with just showing the chinks slowly approach the capsule; that enough was tense and had the audience question whether something went wrong. I don't think there was any reason to plain show it
All in all I enjoyed the movie, 7/10
