How can anyone actually defend film?
>MUH GRAIN
>MUH PROJECTION

up until like 2011 you could make a case that film was superior to any commercially available digital camera, film could simply record more information, but that definitely changed when ARRIRAW became available for the Alexa and people realized how powerful the ALEV III sensor was. film became an aesthetic choice after that -- which is not nothing, because this is all in service of art after all -- but those aesthetic properties are not some mysterious alchemical process, they're definable and they're replicable with digital. in the past few years knowledgeable people with sharp eyes have seen head-to-head tests of film vs. digital (with the digital image graded to resemble film) and their ability to discern which is which has consistently not been any better than if they were to guess at random.
>plane out of gas
>banks to stop Stuka from destroying the mole
>can't turn around to land in friendly territory
Well that tarnished an otherwise good movie

>A mutual friend said we should meet. To clear the air. An actress wanted to tell her side of the stories I had been hearing about her from others. She says she is not a pain to work with and that for the past year she has purposely not asked for anything on any set from anyone, yet the stories continue. She knows why. She blames it on a producer. A producer who has been featured on this site from almost the very beginning.
>Our actress says that even though she was the star of the show, it was in name only. When she landed the part, the producer never mentioned anything about sleeping with her. According to her it wasn’t necessary because he had a handful of actresses on other shows who were keeping him busy.
>All but one of them were underage. She suspected that because she was legal for almost the entire run of the show that he just was not that into her. At some point he did try and sleep with her and she turned him down. That rejection cost her a bunch of scene reductions.
>The next time she turned him down her personal appearance offers begin to dry up and she was even in fewer scenes.
>Meanwhile, the producer found someone else to sleep with who was also legal but loved to role play super young. She was getting the good lines and scenes. She was being offered crossover opportunities and new shows were being developed for her.
>The producer also started pitting the cast against our actress. If you wanted your career to succeed you took the side of the producer. If you wanted it to fail, you took her side. >The producer started spreading lies about our actress. He did so regularly. When the show finally ended there was no one out there who was willing to hire her because of all the stories the producer had been spreading.
>So, when she did get work and asked for anything or was a few minutes late from lunch or whatever, the stories would start again and getting work even harder. The only work she really can get at this point are product endorsement deals and doing work for companies. No one wants to hire her for acting. No one wants her for pretty much anything. >She says that even though her career has gone into the tank because she wouldn’t sleep with the producer, she doesn’t regret her decision.
>She points to another actress of a show he produced. That actress slept with the producer and his friends and it didn’t help her career at all. She is hoping that people will start to pressure the producer to let up on the comments and that other producers will give her a chance. She just wants to work

first for the rightful king Stannis The Mannis
The Kingsroad was buried in snowfall. The trees that flanked it bared a similar resemblance. That of a blank mess fueled by the wind, dancing alongside the path until everything turned to white. The silhouettes of armed men crossed one tree line to the other. Their cloaks took form from the wind they strode against. The black figures scrolled through the blanketed wilderness in unison, side by side a meter apart.
“We need a fire.”
This was unanimous. The men made quick work of the thinner trees surrounding them, cutting to the dryness within and piling the capable stakes for the cold night ahead. One of them scraped their blade slowly down a portion and let the byproduct fill his pockets. He closed his cloak around himself and the sound of metal meeting metal was succeeded by a bundle of smoking tinder. A bundle that was quickly escorted underneath a secondary pile of wood, spawning the intense light and heat needed to take on the inevitable freezing darkness.
“Alright let’s skin that fucking thing already.”
Another man carrying a fresh deer carcass walked towards a big tree and began to set it down so he could separate the hide from the meal. As it fell from his shoulders to the ground its path was obstructed. The deer fell to the right, and the obstruction slumped to the left side. They all knew immediately. Nothing they hadn’t seen before or wouldn’t continue to see. The shoulders hit the ground with another metallic clang. The fall knocked a portion of snow off the torso and the firelight danced on its immaculate surface.
“That’s castle forged steel.”

>“Few of the birds that Aemon had sent off had returned as yet. One reached Stannis, though. One found Dragonstone, and a king who still cared.”
That felt more like a videogame than a film. WTF was Nolan thinking? They took WW2 and turned it into a theme park ride.
And it's one of those "all graphics and sounds, no substance" videogames. BRAVO NOLAN

Why the fuck is he wearing suit an tie to war? Do anglos seriously do that?
Call of Doody The Movie?
Why is HBO so expensive? It's more expensive than Netflix.
It is a box office in your home.
>>85236296
Literally they have so many good shows, comedy AND drama, and a bunch of miniseries and shit. Sometimes it's better than Netflix, besides Bojack, 30 Rock and the moovees.
Netflix series are dogshit, plus it has scheduled broadcasting rather than being a library
