To be fair they weren't afraid to lose limbs with explosions unlike most movies where an explosion simply tosses a person with some scratches. Actually quite enjoyed it. Also Stalingrad 1993 had quite a brutal tank scene, especially for back then

Because Heroes was a product of its time, the time were the MCU and the DCEU didn't existed, were the CW wasn't a capeshit channel, just a shit channel.
Heroes was a show that was akin to Singer's original Xmen vision, being comicbooky but firmly set on the real world, while aping comic book tropes more in your face, like time travel and archetypes but never actually getting into actual CAPEshit.
Also, it was incredibly shit after the first season and the new show was pretty much as shitty as the worst seasons of the old show.
