Blue is the warmest color.
So, now the 3rd one is out, I feel it's time to announce my plans
Due to the amount of people saying it will happen, I have begun 2 Hobbit Fan-Edits; One as a single film that is closest to book canon as I can make, as well as 2 separate films that carry some of the aspects of the trilogy I enjoyed while removing most of the extra fluff that was obviously squeezed or pressured in there. I have begun work on the single cut edition and to put it in perspective:
>Original equivalent to book chapter 1 is about 45 Minutes and 10 Seconds in
>Single cut is about 28 Minutes and 30 Seconds
>BRAVO HACKSON
Unfortunately this results in stuff that may be reserved for the double cut (Frodo & Bilbo Dialogue, Prologue showing destruction of Dale), which adds a bit of vagueness/mystery to the story setup, but I will see how it plays out, it is all subject to change. It will also mean I will have to cut down on things like the Sauron Council plot in this cut.
Some early ideas of stuff to be removed or slimmed from the double cut is:
>MATRIX NEO LEGOLAS
>terrible love subplot
>gopro barrel escape
>etc
>inb4 fix the CGI, I know how to use Maya and stuff, but this CG is beyond redeemable
Anyways, if you have questions, or want to remind me of terrible other stuff that may need to be removed, please don't hesitate to comment
In the meantime, ill bump with some Hobbit webms

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the plane
Not a creature was stirring, not even Bane
The flight plan was filed with the agency with care
CIA knowing the hostages wouldn’t all reach there
The prisoners were kneeling with bags on their heads
With visions of sleighbells and crashing sleds
And CIA in his polo, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap
When out on the clouds there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the seat to see what was the matter.
Away to the aisle I flew like a flash,
Tore open the seatbelt and turned in a dash
After shouting and shooting, and questions of Bane
One interrupted Wilson, with self-satisfied disdain
When, what, from under a hood should appear,
But a man, with a mask, and soon it was clear
Bigger than average, but still under detain,
I knew in a moment it must have been Bane
More rapid than eagles CIA’s surprise came,
And he pointed, and shouted, and called him by name

“Bane?” he gasped, with shock and surprise
As he realised his flightplan hadn’t included this guise
How vital was the mask, CIA began to wonder
When it would soon sink in he had made such a blunder
Pain would occur, although the target unclear
Until Bane interjected with CIA’s biggest fear
For when told he was a big guy, Bane responded with glee
That CIA feeling glum is how it would be
But then from behind, another plane appeared in the distance
with Bane adding that he needed Pavel’s assistance
The plan was to crash, with all on board
Presents and all, with Bane’s freedom restored
So Bane sprang from his seat, to his team gave a shout,
And down they all slid into his masterplanned rout
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he rose out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

A few nights ago, I was debating with some people as to whether or not Korrasami was cannon, and whether it was "forced" or not. Well the creators just took the words right out of my fucking mouth. EVERY argument that I made is in here (the music, past hints, etc). I hope you see this and know what it's like to feel the sting of defeat!

Wait, do you actually have trouble breathing through your nose?
I recently realized that pic related is my favorite movie. I don't watch much anime, much less than western stuff, but this thing was just amazing. I'm looking for some live-action movie that might be similar and possibly replace it, so I'm not such a weeb.
What I loved it for is the visual direction, the introspective character scenes and the mind-screwiness. It had a surreal aesthetic but not to the point that it made me detach myself from the movie completely like with Lynch films or Jodorowsky films (less so). Some of my other favorite films that come close to the level of how I like EoE would be Space Odyssey and Brazil. So yes, I'm asking for recommendations.
I've never found a film that so deeply delves into a cast of characters psyche like this, masterfully done
It had the benefit of one of the best telivison shows of all time to kickstart it though, not sure much could compare

Top pleb
You need to understand that the more intelligent a film is the harder it is to explain. You can discuss many western films with ease because they're so much simpler and 2 dimensional than much of what Japan makes.
End of Evangelion is Hideaki Anno's multifaceted social commentary and deconstruction of the mecha genre. Only the highly educated can realize the multiple layers of complexity, and actually be able to understand and appreciate such a highly intelligent masterpiece. Much unlike western media:
Vertigo is simpler than most slice of life anime. If this is you sceptic's idea of an intelligent film I laugh at you with pity.
Rosebud XDD is nothing compared to any of anno's stuff.
Kubric made ending of 2001 a space odyssey incoherent and it just didn't make sense without reading the book. Everything other was style over substance. Like anything from Kubrick.
I will give the west some credit though: Bresson, Tarkovsky, Godard, and Bergman have come close. But still, none of their works have managed to achieve the level of profoundness, intelligence, and depth found in End of Evangelion.
Things on the scale of evangelion require a class to be explained, not some random bloke on the internet with limited time. If you fail to see this I don't know how to make it any simpler anymore. The japanese are truly amazing, man. I mean look at their amazing history and culture. They have the best literature in the history of the world. So why are people surprised that they made the best movie ever?

Why are there so few horror movies truly great? The only one that I can think of is Rosemary's Baby, or maybe Repulsion. Nothing else really comes close to any of the other great movies.

There are good horror movies.
I think they eventually fall victim to studios wanting the same cliche bullshit because they think it's what the public wants (and maybe they are right, to a degree).
>>51422241
sometimes I feel I'm the only person who didn't like Rosemary's baby
don't get me wrong, I don't mind old or slow-pacing films, in fact I loved the Shining, but Rosemary's - just found it tedious
