Hello /trv/ I'm going to be flying to Alabama tomorrow in order to bug out for the coming hurricane and i was wondering if it was ok to take a portable rechargeable battery on the plane?
Would it be confiscated or would i be allowed to take it with me?
>The picture I posted is a picture of the battery I own.

ok thanks for the info

I think it's mostly down to battery capacity. Unless yours is some xboxhueg monster that could charge your laptop, I don't think it's an issue.

There was usb ports to charge your powerbanks etc on planes so i dont think you taking a battery would be a problem
I remember the limit as 10k mAh or something last time I was there, better to look it up depending on where you are going
I've only had it checked in Asian countries, and they only check the capacity. Any normal power bank is fine.

*in Thailand
Yes, at least in Mexico.
But AVOID bringing a standalone cellphone battery, or say its ass goodbye
I flew through China recently with a 20k powerbank and don't remember them them having an issue outside of the usual taking it out like with a laptop.

Also, "spare" batteries not attached to devices MUST be in carry on, so they can access them with proper fire equipment in case of a fire.

I just flew from PDX to AZ last week, carried in my carry on and extra bag, no problems.
