Village in Northern Norway.jpg
316KB, 960x597px
You are set for life. Maybe you won the lottery or something, but the thing is, you got great amount of money and dont need to work anymore

Where will you move to?

Norway for me
>>
I'd probably move to just about anywhere else in the US besides my hometown in Upstate NY. I'd probably move to San Francisco, Seattle, or NYC. I've heard great things about all of them and there are positives and negatives to each of them, but they all seem great, especially if you're wealthy. Realistically I'd be travelling almost constantly though, so it'd be more of an address than a home.
>>
Tokyo. I would live a life of hedonism.
>>
I'd probably have a couple places in different locations around the world. Not like big fancy vacation homes, just little cabins or apartments. One in Alaska, one in Chile, maybe a little beach hut in New Caledonia.
>>
>>1297707
I'd migrate with the seasons. Apartment in Edinburgh, another in Nepal or Sikkim, one in Bangkok and maybe another one somewhere, perhaps Australia. In between those I'd make do with hotels and just vary the routes in between.
>>
Probably Cancun or Honolulu
>wake up at noon
>hop in lamborghini and hit the gym
>have nice post-workout snack at restaurant
>hop in lamborghini and hit the beach
>go back home, chill and shit until 9pm
>shower, dress, hop in lamborghini and head to da club
>bring a hoe back to million dollar condo
Rince and repeat
>>
>>1297718
>have infinite resources
>do something that you could do even if you were poor

why?

I'd rotate between different big cities, absorbing everything possible.
>>
>>1297764
Because I like visiting big cities, but they burn me out. I'd rather live in the country and visit the city.
>>
Japan and i'm not even a weeb.
>>
>>1297707
I would pay off my current condo in San Francisco, buy a larger house here, and at least consider acquiring homes in New York, London, somewhere in Thailand (where I used to live, and where the purchase of a very high-end condo would go a long way toward qualifying me for an investor visa), and somewhere on the European mainland (my wife was very taken by Lucca, I like Amsterdam, but we shall see).

I'd have to do more than a little research to figure out if it would make more financial sense to own in these places than to lease, and act accordingly--I know that at home in San Francisco it is ultimately more affordable to own than rent if you have a lot of money.

But basically, I'd be very content setting myself up to live larger than I presently do in my beloved present home city, while setting some roots down globally to facilitate my frequent travel.
>>
Hong Kong, get both city life and nature, all within 20 minutes of travel time. Multicultural enough so you won't feel like an outcast, also great art and fashion scene. Would keep me entertained for life.
>>
>>1297707
Lesvos or some other Greek island.
Get a boat and sail.
>>
>>1297773
Safety and everything being clean would be amazing. Have to say, I like the idea myself too
>>
I wouldn't move to one specific place. I think I would spend the summers here in Vancouver but rent a place in different parts of the city each year. And during the rainy periods I'd travel to other countries. So something like 8 months traveling and 4 months staying here.

That's my dream, I'd do that for a decade and then settle down in a neighbourhood I liked the most or if on my travels I found a city I enjoyed even more then move there on a more permanent basis.
>>
>>1297707
Probably living between NYC, London, HK and any other major city that come up in the coming years (Mumbai, Shanghai ?)

If I have money, I'll try to get as educated as I possibly can, and then be inserted into higher end society, life of hedonism probs get quickly boring.
>>
>>1297814
become a pirate and raid the migrant fleets
>>
>>1297707
we're full
>>
>>1297707
Put my $$ and primary residence in Singapore (or maybe put my $$ in Monaco or some Caribbean tax haven) and live in New York or London during summer and in Singapore during Winter
>>
Get a comfy house on some Okinawa island (probably around the Ryukyu islands) and live there most of the time.

Travel to big cities in Asia when I get bored for a few days/weeks
>>
>>1297840
no need to win the lottery for that
>>
>>1297707
Japan, without a doubt. A city apartment and a country house, and I'd have time to learn the language. Don't give a fuck about anime or that shit, but the culture seems nice and the level of convenience they have is appealing.
I would, without a single doubt, continue to work in some way though.
>>
>>1297707
Some pacific island like the cook islands or the Japanse countryside for awhile
>i'm not a weeb
>>
>>1297707
I would stay right were I am, but use the money to make some changes.
Basically buy up a whole neighbourhood in or nearby a large city, inhabit the place with only tenants of my liking, build a huge fence around the area, with security teams and effectively turn myself into the king of that small zone. Maybe also buy a company and only go there to tell people on how to do their work, while they earn more money for me and I spend most of the year going on vacations.
>>
>>1297707
I'll try to set up my own country, buying land somewhere and declaring independence.

I'd love to make something like rapture city from BioShock (for its libertarian godless spirit, not the underwater silliness), a place of immigration for the most brilliant minds.

Maybe in the Indian ocean, raising a new Singapore out of fucking nowhere.
>>
>>1297707

Iceland. Love it there, I consider that my happy place.
>>
Apartments in NYC, Lisbon, Sardinia, and Cape Town.
>>
Las Vegas
>>
I have always had a bit of a fantasy about being rich, but still staying at low end hostels, backpacking around different cities every week.. looking like a hobo.
Every once and a while splash out into luxury hotels and high end escorts pouring champagne over themselves in the Jacuzzi..
Then going back to slumming it... Knowing that iI'm fucking rich and who gives a fuck.
>>
>>1297714
i would move from sf to upstate new york, i hear there's vastly reduced risk of natural disaster
>>
>>1298234
But, you don't have to be rich to do that. Anyone who is even lower middle class could live in cheap hostels and afford to live like royalty once in a while as a result.
>>
>>1298280
sure, but the point of the fantasy is the fact that money is no real concern... never are you calculating how long you can do this for. If you are lower middle class you need to be going to work every day.
>>
>>1297707
Bounce around. See everything I can before I die. I'd pry spend lots of time in the Czech Republic and Switzerland, as well as Nepal, Peru and Argentina.
>>
I figure I'd split half the year in a comfy cabin in the upper great lakes of the US, and traveling around the world the rest of the time.

I get the feeling that at a certain point I'd be content with where I've been able to go in the world. There will come a point where the need to build something (a family, or some kind of legacy) will surpass any further need for exploring.
>>
>>1297707
Clifton Beach South Africa. Insanely expensive real estate, but I have won the lottery, so fuck it.
Chilling out, knowing that about 30% of people within a kilometres radius, are security guards.
(inb4 polfag arrives, ranting about future RAHOWA)
>>
>>1297707
Enjoy having your fortune decline every year through fortune tax.
>>
>>1297707
Hazebrouck. Small city in France. Seems really chill and quiet.
>>
>>1297707
Iceland or Switzerland. Maybe Poland. Colombia would be nice, too.
>>
>>1297707
Wales
>>
Money no object, I would probably split my time between Asia (Japan/Taiwan/Hong Kong/Singapore) and a sleepy town in the pacific northwest.
>>
>>1297718
This. Anchor properties in multiple countries.
>>
I'd buy a decent amount of land in my home state, and probably the same in New Zealand.

Stay in the US during summer, and NZ during winter.
>>
>>1299640
Do you realize that US summer and NZ winter happen at the same time?
>>
>>1299557

What is it with people picking these meme tourist destinations? Bad list and you should feel bad
>>
During winter move to phi phi islands and fuck farang tourists

In the summer do whatever I feel like
>>
>>1297707
Probably Cape Town.

If you were very wealthy and could afford security etc. It's obviously the most beautiful place to live.
>>
>>1299725

Obviously he means move to NZ during the US winter.
>>
>>1297707
New Zealand If I have over 1.5 million USD

Albania, Romania, or Bulgaria if I have less.

or maybe portland...

probably portland... yeah it's liberal and ugly people all over, but weed is legal, no state sales tax, decent weather, and strip clubs on every street.
>>
>>1297707
HK
>>
Can I buy my friends and family some flats or houses?
If I won the lottery, I would buy them flats first.
Buy myself one in Northern Norway, one in Switzerland. Stay in Norway during summer, Switzerland during winter.
I would also take my friends on all the trips we have in the queue but haven't done yet.
>>
>>1297707
I would buy a small-to-medium house in Vancouver & Arizona.

However, I would be traveling almost constantly. I don't intend on staying at home for more than a few months.
