What is /trv/'s preferred footwear when traveling?
>>1297704
Converse Chucks are the only shoes I ever wear.
I want everyone I meet to know I'm young at heart and down to party ;)
>>1297704
Actually it's kinda pic related. I have done a lot of outdoor travel in the last few years and there are no better shoes for me than Moab 2 Vents at the moment.
My other shoes that I take are black New Balance walking shoes. They're comfortable and black goes with anything, including dress pants for going out.
I'm going to get a pair of sandals for my next trip though, I've never liked sandals my whole life but I think they have a purpose especially in the tropics.

RIP your pinky toes, senpai.

>New Balance walking shoes
This anon knows how to put one foot in front of the other.
>>1297746
dafuq that supposed to mean?
>>1297704
I gave up on finding a good hiking shoe and just wear one of the new balance shoes in 4e.
My feet are so fucking wide that shoes like merrell's are impossible to wear.
Even the new balances suck to wear for a few days until they stretch out. They kept me blister free in Nepal though so I'd take them anywhere.
>>1297779
I have wide feet too and things are good in the wide Merrells. Yours must be extra wide then.
I have never been able to find good fitting shoes outside of new balance and a few hiking ones. I love a lot of the Addidas and New Balance street shoes but none of them ever fit me well :(
>>1297704
you already posted it. except i like the boot version
teva, check out that brand. the shoes look like 'regular shoes' and they're comfy cause they're built for hiking and they're waterproof. waterproof to a point, they can't get soaked but the low cut teva shoes are great
took a pair to ireland and got rained on for 5 out of 7 days. especially muddy around the tourist areas. anyway, teva
>Skechers
>New Balance
>Geox
>Under Armour
I'm seriously contemplating one of these.
This isn't my recommendation, but I'm considering purchasing the Nike Air Zoom Odyssey. Mark Wiens briefly mentioned it in one of his videos, and while his commentary could use more polishing, he does move around a lot, and I'm almost willing to take his word on these shoes.

>I think they have a purpose especially in the tropics
Yes, their purpose is to get your feet disgusting and muddy in the rain. I'm from the tropics and I'll only wear open footwear at the beach, at the pool, or a quick walk to the neighborhood supermarket.
>>1297850
Skechers are fugly imo
>>1297895
This tbqhwy (living in the tropics too)
And by "open footwear" I hope this anon meant flip flops because sandals are a whole other level of nope.png
>>1297901
You're absolutely right, Skechers are fucking ugly. But people say wonderful things about their function and price. I might be willing to sacrifice aesthetics if they really are that comfy.
>>1297720
They wear out after a year
>>1297704
these shoes are for obese people whose feet lack arches because thir muscles are atrophied
seriously embarassing
>>1297945
>What's wrong with sandals in the tropics?
They single you out as a tourist. Tourists and nuns wear sandals. Or spartan soldiers, but we don't have much of those lately.
>>1297923
good thing I have bout 10 pairs!
virgin shoes: the thread
>>1297704
pretty much this, except mine are Columbia. These off brand whatever-the-fucks look dodgy as fuck
Nike Flyknit two pairs and one pair of ankle high hiking boots.
I somehow get smelly feet when /trv/ so I like to change every day.
Ferragamo drivers
I'm Australian and once I stepped into crocs because they looked fashionable but then they bit off my feet.
>>1297704
I had problems with Merrell before. 3/10 quality. Won't try again unless somebody tells me they have improved.
>>1298734
They have improved.
>>1298722
fucking hipsters, thats what you deserve
>>1298734
I had my Merrells for 2 years, including trips to Costa Rica, all over the US and Australia. They have finally worn out and I'm getting the same pair again.
>>1297948
Keen H2 is the answer
>>1297727
>including dress pants for going out
no
>>1297779
I like the wide toebox dimensions Keen uses
>>1298722
jej'd
I just bought a pair of Skechers today that I think will suit my traveling needs. They are some of the ugliest shoes I've ever purchased, but damn they were also the comfiest.
I have a trip coming up next month, so I might give feedback then.
>>1298433
I was thinking similar, the shoes recommend here look like what some autist would wear.
lloyd leather boots, comfy and suitable for motorbiking
Just got my first pair of hiking shoes for my trip to Iceland next week. I'll also wear my adidas superstars because I wear them everywhere
