We were at Disney World and about to ride the Tower of Terror. My sister didn't want to ride it and my mom asked "where can she go so she can meet us when we come out?"

>she also invites her landwhale co-worker and her kids
>the one kid is a typical stuck in phone teen and the other makes video game references to almost everything
>we get inside and the landwhale insists that we all stay close together and we have to ride Its a Small World
>we try to leave and she literally growls and tells us to get back in line
>friend's mom tells us we will ditch her afterwards
>ride crashes as we are just about leave the castle
>landwhale throws a shitfit and glares at me and my friend and says we're ruining her vacation with her kids and that we shouldn't have been invited
>I end up panicking and kick her in the face thinking she was going to hit me
>afterwards me and my friend bolt off to adventureland and wait for his mom to come back

The rest of the trip was alright but I never saw her again since we took seperate vehicles but was told by my friend she was later fired when she attempted to strangle another co-worker over a soda

That's a dumb idea. A park like that would have no connective tissue. The problem with Disney Parks is so many fans want to live in the past.

I've met Minnie and I don't think I was especially awkward during. I feel like I was kind of let down the last time I went to Disneyland. It was super hot and almost every ride we went on broke down at some point in the day. I went to both Disney parks after a conference in Orlando when I was 23. Going with grown up business people was novel. We also got fast passes after a member of our party fainted.

Overall, it was fun, especially the fireworks at Epcot. But I wouldn't have paid money for either Disney parks. Universal studios was better.

They sent Mickey to the hotel, but they didn't let him talk. This unsettled me.
>>
>>1293833
OK so I went to Disney World when I was 4 years old. The only thing I remember is that it was extremely hot and uncomfortable. I have a picture of me wearing a hat that looks like Mickey Mouse's ears.

My parents hate rides (actually afraid of them?) and are brainlet rubes so don't appreciate cultural things or engineering accomplishments so obviously they have nothing to say about the experience.

I'd like to go back now, as a single 29 year old, I have traveled the world but never really bothered with theme parks and that sort of thing. How much does it typically cost to go to and stay at Disney World? Does that place ever close? If it's open year-round I would choose to visit in the winter most likely, but I assume it isn't because the amusement parks near by my home are pretty much only open in the summer.

What are the highlights of the place for those who have visited? I enjoy good food, and some Disney movies are nice, I would probably recognize all the costumed characters, the qt princesses at least.

Just came back from Disneyland yesterday.....

I went a couple of times before I was 10. Now I'm 40, took the wife and our child, which is a first for them.

It was a "good" trip overall, a nice piece of nostalgia for me.

IMO, The only type of people who really enjoy Disneyland or it's franchise are children, and adults with dismal and uneventful childhoods (too poor to go) that are just making up for it now. Regardless the "immersion" was there....

First it was 100*F+ the whole last weekend, and being the last week of Summer it was way too busy and crowded to fully enjoy the place. We're all tripping over each other putting up with line after line trying to do anything, big or small. Want to take a picture with Darth Vader in tomorrowland: wait 20 mins. Want to wait for the train that takes you around the park? 45 mins!
Fast Passes? Fuck that shit, you're lucky to get one per DAY.

The Cars race-track, Guardians of the Galaxy/Tower of Terror ride, or Star Tours? You enter the park right when it opens; to be clear that's 30 mins after it opens because you have to go through security first. You RUN to the popular ride, and find out your fast-pass is already 4-5 hours in the future. You can't get another fast-pass in the meantime, so you have to suffer through all the lines up to do ANYTHING while waiting for the popular ride you hold a pass for.

THEN when you use the fast pass, it's literal another 15-20 min wait in the FP line to get on the ride anyways......the rides themselves was great, if you get on them. But if you want to do it again, you got to get another fast-pass. BUT when you do, the fast-pass machine are shut-down for the day, exceeding capacity. WTF....!
>>
>>1295381
Another pisser was the rides kept breaking down. I was stuck on the Grizzly Run for 20 minutes before getting rescued. They fixed it later on, managed to ride it later than night. But the next day, it broke down again.

Rode the Haunted Mansion once, just as I got off the seat the ride broke down, and they never opened the ride again, because they figured they might go ahead and plan the "Halloween decorations", so the ride was closed for the rest of the weekend.

Roger Rabbit, Pinocchio, Thunder Mountain.

It was kinda horrible.

Disneyland is definitely showing it's age.

>>
We were in a gift shop at Magic Kingdom and my mom (being clumsy) accidentally walked into one of those hooks that they hang things on. Hurt her eye pretty badly.

It was totally her fault, but the Disney people freaked out and gave us a ton of free stuff because they didn't want to get sued.
>>
>>1295381
>>1295382
>adults with dismal and uneventful childhoods (too poor to go)
Nope, it's the opposite. These are the type of people that hate Disneyland.

>First it was 100*F+ the whole last weekend, and being the last week of Summer it was way too busy and crowded to fully enjoy the place.
You could've avoided this situation if you did even the most perfunctory of research. Early September is the least busy time of the _entire_ year. Had you gone next weekend, you would've avoided the heat wave and massive crowds. In fact, it would've been a ghost town.

>Fast Passes? Fuck that shit, you're lucky to get one per DAY.
You probably misunderstood how FastPasses work. The bottom of the ticket shows the next time at which you can get one, which is always before your recall time. Even if you got a Space Mountain Fastpass at 8AM and it's for 10PM somehow, you're able to get another one (for any other ride; even Space Mountain again) at 10 or 11AM.

On really crowded days, you'll probably only be able to get one Fastpass for the popular rides before they stop distributing for the day, but there's other options to get FastPasses, or you could've avoided ALL of this by pushing your family trip one week.

> Want to take a picture with Darth Vader in tomorrowland: wait 20 mins. Want to wait for the train that takes you around the park? 45 mins!
>THEN when you use the fast pass, it's literal another 15-20 min wait in the FP line to get on the ride anyways
The Disneyland Railroad JUST reopened after being closed for years, so that's why the waits have been so bad. And is 15-20 minutes too much for your family to handle? Should Fastpasses teleport you inside the ride? That's a perfectly short acceptable wait time, for any theme park. And it's pretty fast compared to 120 minutes without a Fastpass.

All in all, you're retarded. You went with your family and didn't do any preparation at all. Disney thanks you for your money

I remember going with my family to Disneyland's California Adventure section. I think we all had the attitude of "hey neat, Disneyland", but our first ride was the hang-glider one where they sway you around over videos of California and it was genuinely awesome.
