I plan to travel to france next year. How is it? Should I go to Paris? I hear its getting a bit gross with rude locals. Would going to a smaller town be more worthwhile? (I was thinking Annecy) Is immigration a problem or is that just /pol/ being retards?

I do know french (Canadian).
>>
>>1247353
I am also considering going to Paris soon. Yeah it's not what it used to be, what with decay and immigration, but I figure it can only get worse.

I want to see it before it's gone completely.
>>
>>1247353
>>1247354
Immigration is only a problem if you get triggered by brown people. Paris is all it ever was and isn't going anywhere. Still very worth the visit. The rude locals are part of the experience.
>>
>>1247359
Oh ok. That alleviates that concern. But still. Should I go to Paris or would Annecy be more worthwhile? Or some other small french town?

the thing is they're all on the streets
>>
>>1247360
can you not do both?
>>
>>1247360
I've never been to Annecy but I have stayed in Geneva and a few ski resorts in the region. Paris is the original cosmopolitan city and has some of the best museums in the world. Annecy is a small city in a scenic part of the country. No comparison. If you just want to see France for the sake of it, Paris you cannot miss. Where else are you going?

Also, I feel so bad for you people who have to plan your trips a year in advance.
>>
>>1247362
Have you been to Paris?

Yeah, you can find plenty of pictures like this that /pol/lacks will post freely. Just like a street full of Hassids in Brooklyn. Paris has a relatively high proportion of arabs and africans. It's pretty fucking ghettoized though. In the center you do have Chinatown and a South Asian area which both have great food.
>>
>>1247363
I am afraid if I do both I wont have enough time to fully appreciate both.

>>1247364
Whats wrong with planning trips a year in advance?
>>
There is so much things to see elsewhere of Paris. You should consider the fact that Paris is the capital so it is expensive to make a trip there even for locals. If you want an advice, if you like the sun, go to South of France to city like :
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%27Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
- http://www.provenceweb.fr/e/vaucluse/roussill/roussill.htm
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Grau-du-Roi

And if you prefer to make more sportive trip go to the alps in city like :
>>
>>1247370
Nothing, I suppose. I would just get too excited. And I am super lucky to have the money and freedom re: work to be more spontaneous. I just bought a one-way ticket to Europe two months in advance and can barely manage waiting.
>>
>>1247354

Paris Is great for a visit (one day only) It's quite expensive desu, Pro tip stay away from large groups of gypsy girls, Pro pickpockets.

Try not to use backpacks if possible, and gents no wallet or phone in the back pocket. If you want to see it again.

Head down to the coat, Nice is great, and you you want a cheap but slightly long bus trip, you can head down to Spain for a couple of days.
>>
>>1247569
How the hell could you spend only one day in Paris? I was there for 6 days last time and didn't get to do close to everything I wanted.
>>
>>1247609

I hear that all the time for everyone having gone to Paris. You can go see just about everything you need in three days. Afterwards it's pretty meh and drains your cash like nothing else.
>>
>>1247353

Like many cities there's good and bad neighbourhoods. To their credit there's police just about everywhere. Heavy tourist areas are relatively clear of gypsies and such again depends on the season you go. I don't suggest the metro unless you're with a local to show you around. Cabs are clean and easy plus you don't see shit in the metro compared to driving around the city. Seriously budget for that and you'll be fine. Make sure it's a legit one like G7. Museums and stuff are fine and safe. Some you have full on military checkpoints to get into.

Other than that. Most of non touristy Paris is grungy, stinks of diesel and covered in so much graffiti it's hard to believe the don't clean it up more. Locals are entitled shits and smoke cigarettes like it's their jobs. Most are completely oblivious of how nice most of Paris is and bitch about everything. Local businesses are fine and do good service.

I'm not OP, but I've got a question: many years ago I stayed in a cozy apartment in Colombes, a suburb north-west of Paris, and the neighborhood seemed great to me: quiet, tidy, decent supermarket nearby, not too far from Paris' city center (even though I had to walk more than 500m just to get to the train station).
Are there other neighborhoods in Paris similar to Colombes? Preferably not too close to the city so they're less expensive, and comfortable to reach coming from Orly airport. I would like to start searching for apartments/studios but I don't know where to look.

I went to Lyon sort of on a whim after having been to Paris twice, and I was impressed. Would definitely go there again.

It's a hilly city set around a winding river and it's incredibly scenic. Active night life. Great Roman amphitheaters.
>>
Don't get raped and murdered by muslims, if you are a nigger, then just stay out.
>>
>>1247354
I was there in 2010 and again in 2016. It's gotten ALOT worse. That's not a /pol/ thing either, it's just simple observation. The area around Sacre Coeur near Anvers has gotten REALLY bad. Lots of black scammers have really taken Anvers over. Montmartre is still okay, but you have to go through SacreCouer to get there. Saint Dennis is a shithole avoid it at all costs. It sucks because I'm not a fan of /pol/ but you can't help but remember the city didn't used to be such a pit.
>>
>>1247353
I wouldn't go to France

>>
>>1247353
What's rude about Parisians? I'll take a wild guess and say you're American. Your fake asskissing everywhere(store clerks, waiters etc.) is not something common elsewhere. That doesn't make those people rude, it just means you are extremely phony.

France is shit..spend money in París is a waste of time. I would avoid this egocountry.
>>
What the fuck is wrong with you retards
France is awesome, spend a couple of days in Paris, rent a car and go to champagne with its beautiful landscapes, great pastry and small domains having the best, well, champagne in the world. In fact, everything else is just sparkling wine.
Then drive to burgundy/Beaujolais, spend a night in some old chateau, enjoy your wine and cheeses. Continue to beautiful Provence, visit cote d Azur/Monaco to feel old memes.
And now Italy is close! Stay out of Marseilles tho.
>>
I will visit a place close to Laon for a family wedding, but I don't really like that. Is there anything to do around there?
>>
>>1250155

I just came back from 2 weeks in France, 1 in Paris and 1 and Nice. Honestly Paris outside of touristy areas is a very dirty, smelly graffiti stained hole. It's so bad they should be straight up ashamed of this. Fucking Diesel, noisy scooters and bikes that spew ridiculous amounts of smog everywhere. People in Paris smoke cigarettes like it's the the 1960s and what ever the fuck they smoke is toxic. I swear i lost 5 years of my life just breathing that shit.
>>
>>1250155
People like >>1250117 visit Paris and assume that all of France is like that.

>>
Not gonna lie mate, been there many times, Paris is a sh*thole.
Most restaurants server sh*t food because they know 99% of their custommers are tourists and will never come back.

People are rude, very rude. If you're drinking a coffee or something, they will take your cup and give you the bill without saying goodbye. If you're walking accros a crosswalk and the lights go red, people will start to honk at you and insult you.

Lots of pickpockets, hobos, drunk people etc...

I don't know if canes have very strict social tipping conventions, but in France (or Belgium), you mostly tip for food related services in restaurants or sometimes bars, but not in fast foods.

Places worth going to :

Notre-Dame (medium wait time)
The Louvres (very high wait time)
The catacombs (high to medium wait time)
Foucault's pendulum in the Museum of arts and works (inaccurate traduction, short wait time)
The panthéon (short wait time)
The Eiffel tower is great if you like views and can wait for hours in a line.

Avoid suburbs at all costs, most of them are hornet nests in Paris, not officially, of course, but if a cop/non-thug white/jew gets close, he WILL be harmed, you have been warned. They don't hesitate to throw bricks at policemen and some of them have handguns.

About the migrant question :
>Are they everywhere ?
Yes.
>Are they aggressive ?
Younger ones are very very easily angered and will pick you up for looking at them. But most of the older ones just hang around, sell phones or selfie sticks and talk loudly in the street.

Hope this could be useful in any way.
>>
>>1247353
I am from Paris (and /pol/) so my tips are : avoid the north (rive droite) where all the no-go zones are. If you absolutly want to visit montmartre, you have to know that it is in the middle of the shittiest area of the city.
I live in the 5eme, i think this is the best place in paris : lot of pubs, students, good food shops, old streets, etc. There is also quite a lot of anglo saxon here because of the shakespeare library.
Locals are rude in the very busy touristics place, you won't find a lot of parisians near eiffel tower, etc.
You may find us cold, it is the way we are, it is not arrogance. Beware if someone is too friendly with you.
If someone try to ask you something in the street, just don't stop, don't even look at them and don't answer them, it is a scam from gypsies. Have no pity.

Other than that i think nice area in france are touraine/sologne or ardèche and alps.

Have a good trip leaf
>>
>>1252195
No the rapefugees/nigs aren't everywhere. You won't find them in the wealthy area of the city : never see them in my area or in the 6/7/8eme arrondissement. You won't find them in the chinatown (13eme/11eme).

Foucault's pendulum is in the panthéon

Notre-Dame wait time is the worst of all the monument.
>>
why is this thread so /pol/ :/
>>
As a Parisian, this thread is pathetic. I bet most of the retards spewing stupid memes and posting pics of brown-filled streets are /pol/lacks who never got out of their basement.
Paris is an amazing city, Parisians can be rude indeed, mostly because we're sick of tourists thinking we're all travel guides and know every street. Most of us are nice though and will answer you if they can.
The black and arab meme is stupid, they are all contained outside of Paris in the North-East and sometimes come to the center. The museums, landmarks and parks are all beutiful and if you don't act like a complete retard who arrives here thinking it's Disneyland you'll be fine.
Paris is the core of a 12 million inhabitants city, capital of its country and with people from all around the world, not a Club Med for asian tourists looking for romantic spots. People there have a life and don't care about you, and like in any global metropolis there are nice districts and shitty ones, nice people and rude ones. Get that in your head before arriving and you'll be fine.

As a French reading this thread lots of posts made me cringe
Why the fuck so many of you forget there's a whole country around Paris. I do love Paris but I honesly think France as a whole is one of the best country to visit, it's stageringly diverse for its size, in terms of landscapes, architecture, food, History... It's a heavily centralized country yeah but every single region is différent from its neighbours, I'm amazed every I drive through France to see this, so much happened here the last 2000 years, we're surrounded by other remarkable countries, we are situated kinda one foot in southern Europe and the other in nothern Europe, as a result this place is a patchwork of what Europe does best.
It might sound arrogant like a French is apparently supposed to be, but it's sincere.
Also I don't deny the issues linked tout immigration and such, but if it bothers you keep on mind the countryside is still very white, and countryside makes up a huge part of France. I spend my summers in Dordogne in the south-west ans the only non europeans I see are tourists
Pic unrelated, taken in Bordeaux a couple days ago
>>
>>1248390
I heard the police is scared to go in certain areas because Algerian criminals there openly wield assault rifles and the like
>>
>>1252244
>why is reality so /pol/ :cc
When i went to Paris i travelled in a large group with a clear schedule, so i didn't encounter any problems, but the amount of blacks/muslims is gigantic
And no, no-go zones aren't a /pol/ fantasy. We have them here in Brussels too
>>
>>1253377
No-go zones exist fucking everywhere tho, every major cities around the world has its dangerous districts, but I don't see why a tourist would go to a shit suburb full of dealers and weapons 20km away from Paris centre anyway, so they aren't an issue for visitors.
No, the retarded /pol/ tier comments are those thinking the whole country is unsafe, if those pussies are worried about coming to France I can only imagine how they would react if they had to go to the Middle-East or Central America.
>>
>>1252261
??? went a couple months ago it was pretty bad

>The black and arab meme is stupid, they are all contained outside of Paris in the North-East and sometimes come to the center.

Mate i don't know where you live but everywhere i went there was a sea of black, i actually counted how many white people i saw on a walk to buy smokes, i saw a total of 3
>>1247353
Go to paris for 1 day maybe not even that, a couple of hours at most, the rest of france is fucking amazing, especially the south, its beautiful
>>
>>1253383
/trv/ is still 4chan and so there's going to be a minority of users who are obsessed with race and alt-right memes, whether it's sharia patrols in European 'no-go zones' or interracial porn, and the best thing to do is just ignore them and try to maintain the board's culture which has traditionally been very different from /pol/ and /int/.
>>
>>1247353
I live in Alps at Chambery between Annecy Grenoble and Lyon. And i think Annecy is a great option. It's more rural and we have considerably less migrant than Paris. If you want to do sport summer like winter you have moutains and lakes. Or if you prefer visit a museum or a monument you have >>1248280
(1h30 by rail) or Geneva (1h).

I'm not neutral about the rudeness of native but i think if you don't go to far deep france, you'll don't have significant problem.
>>
>>1253383
>No-go zones exist fucking everywhere tho
they don't

>No, the retarded /pol/ tier comments are those thinking the whole country is unsafe
Pretty sure /pol/ only claims the major cities are an issue. However i barely visit that place for obvious reasons, so i could be wrong

Either way my point is that you're better safe than sorry, especially in the major cities of Western-Europe with large muslim populations. I feel like i'm stating the obvious but some ITT apparently want to believe there are barely any issues in Paris except for the "very specific areas"
I've been there multiple times, i think i can form my own judgement by now.
