Why don't you try Germany? Wife has been wanting to go to some huge Christmas town or market there. The way I understand it, Christmas started in Germany, aside from that whole messiah thing.

i am german, christmas tree tradition is definitely from germany. pesonaly i dont like all the christmas shit, also because it hasnt been snowing here on christmas for like ten years, just fucking rain.. but a lot of people still like the christmas markets

Germany and Austria have great Christmas markets. OP and his GF can collect all the different mugs that they have at each market, and then you will have something to throw at each other when you break up.
