Philippines question

Now that I've had a taste of Thailand, I want to visit Philippines for 3+ months. I don't want to be travelling around. I'll visit the major cities then rent a small house (or a studio) in the city I choose (davao, manila or cebu).

How expensive would the country be for someone like me? I don't drink alcohol, don't do drugs, don't pay for sex. I like to eat out (not expensive yet good meals) and stay in a clean place with good location tho.

I just want to slow down the time, swim in pussy, socialize, make new friends, relax and enjoy myself for a few months.

Cebu and Davao are cheaper
I'm actually thinking of spending a month in this city called Baguio, it's HDI is way bigger than Manila and the city is cheap as fuck. Though the weather is rainy and it must be a little boring compared to the bigger cities

Yes you can buy meds at the Pharm. You will also have guys trying to sell you stuff on the street. I didn't buy any from them, I hear sometimes it is fake but have no actual experience with that.

I did get some antibiotics with out a script, and they didn't even ask me a question. So, it seemed kind of loose on meds.

Wow this HDI is complete bullshit. Manila is the worst city in the whole SEA, with rampant poverty, awful infrastructure, dirty streets, and also the most dangerous capital in SEA (though still fairly safe compared to places like South America and Africa). It's nowhere close to Finland or Latvia, not even close to Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur.
In general Philippines have only one advantage over other SEA countries: everyone speaks English fluently. All big cities are unlivable slums, and in smaller places infrastructure is nowhere near the levels of popular resorts such as Phuket, Bali etc. It's also more expensive. Philippines is nice to enjoy the nature, diving, snorkeling, sunbathing on the beach for a short vacation, but a bad place to live long term.

Boracay gets the dollars but still a little bit of a headache without direct flights to bring in the big bucks.

I agree Manila isn't the best but would rather travel that than Jakarta. Still leaps and bounds what it was 10 years ago, the third world is slowly disappearing unless you go looking for it.

Well, for me Jakarta is leagues better than Manila. It has more than one decent neighborhood, it's much cheaper, it now has hundreds of inexpensive but quite posh restaurants, it's growing economically and becoming more comfortable. I visited Jakarta twice in 2011 and 2016, and in five years streets became more walkable, many slums I had visited disappeared, traffic jams became smaller. Manila when I visited in 2015 was worse than Jakarta in 2011.

In Thailand you can find decent infrstructure even in small non-touristic towns, though it won't be English-friendly. You'll have to look hard to find bad roads, poor mobile coverage or electricity power outages anywhere in Thailand. In Indonesia it's not so good yet, though major islands are surprisingly developed.
