Check out getting around by night train, eurail or other. That way you're getting around by night not wasting daytime and you have a bed to sleep on. I took the night train from prague to budapest, about 8.5/9 hours and that was $70 USD, and included breakfast upon arrival at 9am. Also if you've not been to Budapest I highly recommend it for a few days or a week

I thought of Eurail, but it seems expensive, but there is a train from Zagreb to München for $40. Both Prague and Budapest are places I want to visit. Also which cities are most busking-friendly (guitar playing)?
I live in Belgium, there are interesting things to see but if you have less than a month in Europe, there may be more beautiful places.
What do you like ? Culture ? Mountains ? Beaches ? Celebrations ? Unusual places?
Amsterdam: for museums of painting, the atmosphere in town and the grass.
France: the mountains of the Alps and the Pyrenees are very beautiful.
Croatia: beautiful beaches
Poland: Auschwitz - Very inexpensive prices for partying and eating!
Italy: Rome, Bologna, Ravenna, Venice: the cultural heritage is interesting and the atmosphere is pleasant!
Albania-Macedonia-Serbia-Bulgaria: Blend of Western Europe and Middle East. Bad reputation, but lots of interesting things to see and that are "outside the usual paths"
Baltic countries: atmosphere between Western Europe and Russia
Also, I can give you tips for traveling cheap in europe.
Maybe, give us some indications :
- Were are you from ?
- How long during your travel
- Your style ( kind of place to sleep, hitchhiking ?,...)
- etc

I have a lot of time to spend, actually I don't know if I'll return. Anyway, I'm interested in both nature and cities; I want to see everything I can (Just don't care about friendships, parties and such), but I'm limited to 1350 €. I'll probably sleep in hostels, I don't have a tent.

Interrail is only worth it if you travel heavily around Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Anywhere else it's cheaper to book directly unless it's a almost cross continent route.
Stuff like Bratislava - Prague or Bratislava - Budapest is like 20€ and for another 3€ you get a reserved seat (totally worth it)
Also if you don't care about dates look at easyjet/ryanair you can go from milano to munch for 9€ or from Memmingen to Porto for 14€ (as long as you don't need any kind of luggage beside a carry-on)
Next option intercity buses, extremley cheap but can be kinda shitty to sit in a cramped bus for 13h+... They go all across europe and usually you can find deals for 5-19€ from/to anywhere.

Also last tip if you're young and actually a kinda good guitar player find a cheap flight to Mallorca in march and apply to the animation positions of hotels/restaurants (just look what hotels your local travel agencies at home are selling and go there, bring a fucking good looking cv and done as they will need a few more native speakers)
It's a 6 months gig, pretty good payment, low living costs and bingo you got money to travel and a gig for the next season lined up if you did a good job.

Eurail is expensive but there are other options, and that takes care of transport AND lodging so no extra hostel fees. You can go quite far with the amount of money you mentioned. Research hostels that allow for work trade, work the front desk for a few hours during the day and earn free nights. Also check out workaway.com for that. Budapest is a busking friendly city as far as I saw, same with Prague and Cesky Krumlov south of Prague. Easy bus ride there from prague, 3 hours

if you want to keep it cheap better travel by bus
Thanks for the good tips, just have few more questions. I will certainly try volunteering in hostels, but how easily could I, a Serbo-Croatian / English speaking 20 year old, find jobs in smaller towns or villages? What about UK and Scandinavia? Should I use Couchsurfing?

that I do not know, but worth a shot
