Tokyo. Bangkok. Beijing (not China's greatest city by a long shot, but has plenty to do and is at least twice the size of all but two European capitals). Mexico City. Moscow.

Personally, I'd rather hang out in Nairobi, which is not a great city although the country is wonderful, than in Oslo or Bern--not sure where the idea that European capitals are especially good gets cooked up. I can think of at least half a dozen European countries where other urban centers are better than the capitals.
