They have the same things in their tagine every day because they're poor.
>beautiful country
When you're somewhere in the desert you can tell how close the next city is by the amount of trash lying around.
Morocco is alright and the people are friendly but really

You're basing your judgement on a few days you spent here? We do not have the same thing in our tajins everyday. We do not even have Tajin everyday.. maybe once a month.
>Morocco is alright and the people are friendly but really
They're only friendly to foreigners. most of those friendly people you meet are god awful hypocrits.
It's not really "Alright" it sucks if you have to live here.

Not him but spent seven weeks in morocco. Tajine is boring and one of the worse poor-people-foods in the world.
Its always the same principle and you end up with half steamed, half baked veggies, potatoes and meat... In the north there was some variation from the standard but nothing actually intrigueing or creative.
Also just because you only eat it once a month doesnt mean thats standard. Almost all of the poorer people Ive stayed with ate it every day, especially old people and nomads.
Other than that the country is absolutely great and I had a blast!
What >>1177689 sais is mostly true but it doesnt matter. The (young and educated) people are great, everything is super chill and there is absolutely no crimes other than scams and bullshits.
Landscape is so absolutely incredible regardless of if you want to see mountains, sea, desert or whatever!

I'd say the food is a little over rated. The desserts are great though. And I would recommend eating at Chez Thami in Fez (near the medina's Blue Gate). That's one of the few places I ate there that lived up to the hype. Also the wine the make in Meknes is worth seeking out. It's cheap and tastes like a decent Rhone from a hot year.
But if you're heading to that part of the world with great food in mind you'd do better to hang in Andalucia.
