Where do 'Real Travelers' from your country go on holiday?

As a Brit, it's probably India or Cambodia
>>
USA it's Latin America. Peru, Colombia, Argentina and such. If you are black then it's Costa Rica, Brazil, and Dominican Republic. Plebe travel is Mexico, cruises, and the Carribean.
>>
France here.
Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos.
To some extent, Thailand (countryside)
>>
On holidays we prefer to stay at home or visit some relatives from a different town/city.

>>1145332
Dominican here, i see almost no black tourist coming here, most of our tourists are europeans, americans and canadians.
>>
>>1145338
Because almost no blacks travel, amd when they do they go to the plebe cruises and all inclusives stuff. But the few American black backpackers there are that's one of the spots, though I'd put Costa Rica as number one. Also throw in Panama and Belize. Basically hispanic countries where a large part of the population looks black anyway.
>>
Depends on your money as an American.
I noticed a lot of my rich friends go to Punta Cana in the DR

Some friends go to Central America, like Belize and Panama

The "Real Travelers" I've met go to Africa for some odd reason.

Bulgarian here.

>I'm one of them
>Feel so ashamed don't even want to tell

Well, the plebs go to London or Paris.
>>
>>1145332
This is pretty accurate. Only black guy I know who wants to travel wants to go to the DR. And the "above you and hit on girls all the time white guy" goes to Central American because Europe is "too western". But then I travel and notice that half the guys have that stupid bun and realize my coworker just travels cause he can't get laid here.
>>
>>1145329

USA. Real Travelers go to Central America and, to a lesser extent, Southeast Asia. Occasionally you'll run into some nutjob who spent a month and India learning yoga.

>>1145332

Mexico is only pleb-tier if you go to Cancun.
>>
>finland
Australia and SEA
>>
>>1145557
Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, Tijuana and other border towns, and a host of other places, which is all where most Americans go when they go to Mexico.

As far as SEA, I have to disagree, not saying American real travelers don't, but for the number of Americans that venture to SEA, more fall into the category of family vacations, honeymoons/couples, or traveling with my Asian American gf/wife to see her side of the family than real travelers. So though they exist, kind of like with Mexico, they are outstripped by mainstream travelers.
>>
>>1145557
lel.
I'm from SoCal. Spent two years in India. One month was spent in Rishikesh doing an intensive yoga instructor course. Was tight, in a class full of chicks from around the world. Had good times.
>>
>>1145329
Belgians don''t travel except for doing 1 group tour in their lifetime to Thailand or South-America
>>
>>1145329
As an USA East Coaster, it's more about Europe, C. and S. America and the Caribbean for us, and the West Coasters do more of Asia. It's just 2 days to get there is kind of ridiculous for most. For Real Traveler status types lately, I mean in the most recent sense, I'd say I see a lot of ayahuasca dream trips where so and so was the best mystic kind of crap stories + Peruvian food is the best in all of latin america!!! (It's not, though). I literally walk away from someone telling enraptured nontravelers about their peruvian experience every week at a party. When there are so many ____ - americans who originated in whatever latin country, it's hard to impress people with backpacker travel that the RealTraveler does, because these third world people escaped their third world, and probably came from european descent, old money, island aristocracy, or are related to some of them, and they'd think it very cool at all that you'd want to go shit in the woods and live in a tent and hitchhike with strangers. They are far more impressed by your resort stories, or how you did such and such with an important person. Go somewhere with crime? Got held up in the road in Colombia or Mexico? Then you should have been with their uncle the capitan, and stayed at his ranch, you pleb, why else would you have traveled there looking for trouble?

Among my circle of friends, the eastern europe thing has been pretty rare experience. And, I think romania, hungary, and surrounds aren't seen much below a certain income. About 5 years ago, Iceland was the stunner, but that's certainly become super popular with all of those Icelandair nonstops.

>>1145338
>Dominican here, i see almost no black tourist coming here
Too expensive for all incomes. It's all inclusive resort packages mostly making prices seem high relative to other vacation destinations/choices. Most famous resort that started it all being quite exclusive: Casa de campo, and black people and golf? Not popular.
>>
>Canada
>India to really connect with the chakras, maaaaaan
>>
Israel
Most people go to south america and india after serving in the army (and shit up those places)
but as long as you don't go to europe or north america you're a realtraveller here
>>
>>1145776

Fuck Israeli travelers. Bar-none the absolute worst of the worst. I mean, some of them are okay, but most are obnoxious and loud pricks who don't do much other than snort coke, smoke weed, and get drunk. Take an Israeli a hundred years backward into the literal past and he'll just ask how much a shroom shake costs.
>>
>>1145819
>He'll ask how much a shroom shake costs

And then he'll argue down the price!
>>
>>1145520
>Well, the plebs go to London or Paris.
To be fair, traveling as a female without a nice big BF to protect you can be dangerous xD
>>
>>1145841
and then he won't buy it, lol
>>1145819
Yeah, israelis in south america and india are obnoxious, but truth be told when i was in central asia i've met like 5 israelis and they were really nice people

I've noticed a definite uptick in the amount of people doing a 2-week roadtrip in California and Nevada.

Plebs go to resorts on the Greek islands or the Turkish west coast, though.

I've noticed a good number of Belgians in Pattaya. There is even a Belgian guest bed/bar, Harry's Place that has a big buffet party every Friday
>>
>>1146956

I used to work in a hotel in western Europe, this sign made me chuckle.
>>
>>1145776
Israel has two kinds of travelers.
The just finished the mil service type.
These usually congregate together in India or S.America, lots of them do drugs and waste their time in hostels for as much as weeks at a time.

Then there are the older travelers, those usually go alone or in small groups. Georgia used to be a hot destination, still is a bit but with the influx of tourism less so.
Central Asia is the hottest right now, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, East China, Tibet etc.

Many also go to eastern Europe, some to the US, Alps, Philippians.

Yeah, Israelis love to travel and do a lot.
>>
>>1145329
Aus

South America and the Middle-East are currently trending amongst real travelers. Asian countries aside from Thailand/Bali/Japan are holding steady as well.
>>
>>1145329
Brit also. Everyone seems to be going to Morocco.
>>
If you're european, Asia is where the "Real Traveling" is at, for the most part. Be it India, China or the SE.
>>
>>1147002
Hello, how bad is the israeli situation in India?
I heard they're particularly notorious in manali, i'm going there next two months and i don't want to have my travel fucked up by them

1 week, $3k. Suggestions?
>>
>>1145695
Why Australia for Finnish people?
>>
Ger

I think south america mostly, SEA maybe too but not as popular.

The absolute pleb-choices are Spain (Especially islands), Turkey (maybe not anymore), and Alegria, Tunisia or Egypt. Taking a gap year in australia/New Zealand is insanely popular as well.
>>
I hate travel snobbery on both spectrums, from the hippies who go to Thailand thinking they're better than you, to people in this thread who think people who go to Thailand are faker wannabes.

Just go wherever the fuck you want.
>>
USA
Real travel: Anywhere in Africa or Central Asia

Pleb travel: SEA and Latin America (except countries where you might have ancestors from, in which case see "not actual travel")

Not actual travel: Europe and East Asia (everyone goes there all the time for work or personal reasons, that's more like how flyover Americans would consider going to Aunt Millie's house for marshmallow salad and microwave hamburgers)

Obviously I'm talking about the part of USA with cultured people, not the kinds of places where /trv/ board visitors come from
>>
>>1145329
As another Britbong, it seems like by far the most common travel combo is a Working Holiday in Australia/NZ + SEA, though India is also common
>>
Even though were truly fucking everywhere, for Australians its usually the Indian Subcontinent (India around Goa/Kerala, Sri Lanka and Nepal). I don't care though I'm keen as fuck to do the trip.

Obviously our proximity comes into play but I never realised how much of a big deal SE Asia was for Europe/America. It's like the generic thing Aussies smash out over a summer or two because it's cheap and close.

>>1147946

Generally the plan for most of the UK/Irish people we have that come through my work as casuals.
>>
>>1147943
>Obviously I'm talking about the part of USA with cultured people,

Please define/explain
>>
australia:
vietnam, cambodia, south america
>>
>>1148846

I dunno, Vietnam & Cambodia are becoming pretty common places for younger Australians to go now.

South America though is definitely Real Traveler tier.

Don't forget the inner suburban white girl volunteering in Africa just so she can get a good Instagram photo with a group of blacker than the ace of spades children.
>>
>>1145329

/trv/'s "meme" real travellers: South East Asia
real travellers: Africa and Central and South America
>>
>>1147853
Maldives
>>
USA pleb tier: Mexico, Canada, UK, Spain

USA real traveler tier (as in its rare to find someone who has traveled there): Central Africa and India
>>
So basically the poorer the country the "realer" it is.

Real traveller tier:

Africa

Let me take photos for Instagram tier:

Anywhere else
>>
>>1149711
>Barely see negros in Costa Rica,

Tha kind of goes with Costa Rica being RT tier for blacks, doesn't it?

>>1150564
What country are you from?
>>
As far as American blacks Asia, in general is RT tier, even more so than aforementioned DR and CR. It's rare to find someone that's been there that's not prior or current military. I'm probably one of the most well traveled people in my circle, and have a group of friends planning a trip in Asia 2 years out and wants me to escort (group of 3 women, 2 being a couple). I have a trip to Thailand soon, my wife's first international flight, and she keeps trying to find someone to go with us so she doesn't have to fly back alone, but can barely find anyone with a passport, let alone willing to go. Reason she's flying back alone is so I can get 10 days or so of solo travel and meet up with some friends.
>>
>>1150564
nah africa is for students looking to expand their cv

south america is for rich students doing the same
>>
What a ridiculous thread. /trv/ what's been happening to you while I was away?
>>
>>1152690
Maybe poorly phrased , but I took it to mean where are the backpacker or less traveled destinations for your country

I think it brings an interesting perspective, as a country that is meme level for one nation, could be rare and exciting for another
>>
>>1152690
The "everyone who has an opinion I don't share must be from /pol/" guy left, and got replaced with about 50 people from actual /pol/

I am not sure which is worse, they're both shit

That's why I barely come here anymore
>>
>>1145732
>expensive
>$350 round trip flight on JetBlue
>air Bnb for $60 at most per night (really nice mariot for 125/night)
>3rd world pricing weak against the usd.

I have literally gone there, attended my family reunion on less than $1k
>>
>>1148616
East/west coast cities w/ a population >1million and/or median household income exceeds 70k/usd
>>
nice thread op
>>

>Literally bumped into a maximum of 3 israelis in 6 months of Southern America
>Israelis are all over SEA and Australia

Do you even know your own country bro? Also I highly agree with >>1145819
they're even worse than the French.
>>
>>1153576
What? are you saying they're not everywhere? i guess you got lucky with not meeting many of them
