"Czechia" is a country, Budapest is a city. Both however, including the Czech capital, Prague, were important cities within the Austro-Hungarian Empire and enjoyed great wealth and cultural influence at the time. They technically were "Western" cities, or more specifically central European ones, and a lot of incredible stuff came out of them.

Fast forward to the 20th CE and they were first ravaged by WWI's aftermath (where Austro-Hungary ceased to exist), and then again when they fell behind the iron curtain after WWII.

Having said that, a lot of their architecture first emerged farther west (e.g.: art nouveau, neo-classicism, neo-gothic) but they did all of those up in style.
