Just over 5'8" here, been in many countries solo, mostly in Asia, but also in E. Europe and a few countries in Latin America. I have literally never noticed my height to be an impediment to having a good time... and except in the Netherlands or Nordics, most women are still at least a little shorter than me. On my most recent solo trip (Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, and Turkey) I met lots of cool people, wasn't trying to pick up women but had an Australian giantess (perhaps two inches taller than me, sturdy peasant build--not fat, but looked like she could lift a car) try to get me into bed without any effort on my part, and accidentally hooked up with a local in Odessa, Ukraine (she was working at a cafe in which I was the only customer at the time, was curious about a random American speaking so-so Russian in a venue that I guess didn't get many foreigners... offered to show me some other cool places, so we hung out for a few hours after her shift, ending with me spending the night at her place).
