>not traveling in First Class

What's your excuse, /trv/?
>>
Not worth the money. I mean I like the extra legspace but the other extras are things I don't care for. And just legspace isn't worth that kind of money. The only possible exceptions are long flights. But unless you go to another continent - not worth considering.
>>
>>1063492
Too expensive for a little quality gain. Better travel in cheap class fag. And buying it for interbationsl flights if 8 or more hours its not worthed
>>
>>1063492
I'm the kind of guy that packs my own lunch.
>>
>>1063492
The usual upgrade from business to first is meme tier like the upgrade from economy to business on short haul flights. Good for bragging rights, anything else who cares.
I flew my fair share of first class flights on Lufthansa, Air France, ANZ, British and Qatar. I book for anything over 4h business anyway.
>>
>>1063492
I only do Business if the flight is over 5 hours Internationally or 8 Domestic.
>tfw Australia
>>
>>1063492

If I had the dosh I would do it more but it doesn't seem worth it unless it's for ridiculously long flights or unless you're upgrading to some rich-Arab shit where you get a private suite and the attendants are all but blowing you.
>>
>>1063492
How much is the difference in price, usually?
>>
I can't justify spending the extra money. I know on some domestic Qantas flights, business is almost double the economy price.

I usually turn up early though to request an extra leg room seat. Being 6'6 suuuuucks.

I get first class flights for $50 round trip because my dad is a pilot, feels real fucking good man.
>>
Friend from school who I live with is a pilot.
The discount he gets on 1st class is insane.

We flew Ireland to San Francisco 1st class this past summer.
It cost me £110 return. Genuinely disgusting how little it cost.
>>
I've only been flying with Qatar Airways until now. Their second class is better than your typical first class.
>>
Food is just as shit.
Champagne, you can't even taste it well.
They're constantly bothering you.
Your tv is bigger, but also further away so whatever.
Since they usually only have first for long flights, you'll probably sleep away most of it anyway.

The only real pro is that you have a bed. But in Business you get enough room to sleep comfortably anyway.
>>
>>1063652
Hook me up yo

If you can get me a $700 ticket for $100 i'll give yall $400, keep the difference
>>
I'd rather blow the extra money on whores and booze on the ground in my destination. Plus I typically sleep for most of a flight anyway. I don't travel to enjoy the flight.
>>
>>1063492
What the fuck is that plant?
>>
>>1063726
Thanks for the needless thread on /an/ asshole
>>
>>1063726

Looks like good ol' marizuana.
>>
>that feel when both 6'2 and overweight and would like the comfort of first class, but its just not worth that cost

oh well, who needs legroom
>>
pros:
1) All about the legroom and seat width and comfort. Give me an old 1st class 747 any day, 1980s leather cushion wide enogh for 2 people, and footrest. I don't care for the streamlined bed nonsense, just as close to Lazyboy as possible. It's #1 to arrive less creaky/sore muscles to fatigue you at the beginning of a trip, or a trip that is so short or a trip that has a first day event, such as attending a wedding or important meeting. It's important to be as refreshed day 1 as possible.
2) Not being near riffraff that pose a risk to your belongings during sleep or bathroom trips, or simply not being around children/noisy people, or really "low class" people. The pricetag almost completely eliminates people who don't know how to behave in public.
3) Flight service of transatlantic/pacific meal types, and mega-efficient drink refills are nice, but it's really only shining difference when you want to be pampered. I have had countless meals for decades, and I find less to be awesome really in recent years. I'm just as happy getting it catered take-out from the terminal choices. For a domestic flight, I might want some philips seafood crab cakes when in D.C., lovely sushi platter, southern dinner in Atlanta with some pralines for dessert, or some chipotle salad bowl, chocolate chip laden starbucks frozen frappuccino to sip throughout the flight. I see far less local cheeses, wines, and food choices that make you excited about where youre transiting from anymore. I see raves about asian flights, but bleh, that's horrible crap, not even trader joes frozen dinner level. As more and more city flagship restaurants add a kiosk/restaurants in airports, the more I'll stick to my takeout.

Fly business. Cheap as fuck and 90% the same as first.
For all those short a-320/319 flights it doesn't matter all seats are equally shit.
>>
Hilariously too expensive.

>>1063619
Flights from LA to NRT
Departing 10 Feb 2016
Returning 24 Feb 2016
Economy: $774
Business: $2,872
First: $3,571
>>
>>1063800
Not sure about hilariously. I get your point of it ll, but you compare the $350/night hotel that normal people stay in (not backpackers), you're talking about a percentage of the total trip price of not that much...2 to 3 days difference in trip length.
>>
>>1063805
I make plenty of money, but for something that finite, I just can't do it. And I don't know that I've ever payed $350 a night for a hotel, and I've only done the hostel thing once. In Japan I think both rooms I had were around $50 and in the US, I've paid mainly $50 to $150. That said, for me that'd be a significant expense.

Maybe I'm just a cheap bastard.
>>
>>1063492
well, fuck you. first class ticket for a long flight is a couple thousands. must be nice to be a fucking millionaire..
>>
>>1063807

I'd say you know the value of money. Just because you have a lot of money doesn't mean that you should accept shitty deals. Comfort has a price, but after a while you just ask yourself "Think of all the other things this money could have been used for"
>>
yo wait hol up a minute

what air line has chicks dressed like that?
>>
I would never pay for it, that money would be much better spent having fun at your destination. I love it on long international flights though when I happen to get it for free or paid for by someone else. No screaming children, lots of free food and drinks, lots of legroom, warm towels, it's great.
>>
>>1063870
The kind in porn
>>
I'd only book it for flights longer than 4 hrs.
Flying sardine class intercontinental is something I'd rather not do again
>>
>>1063807
>In Japan I think both rooms I had were around $50 and in the US, I've paid mainly $50 to $150. That said, for me that'd be a significant expense.
>Maybe I'm just a cheap bastard.
$50 is utterly cheapo status in Japan. In the US, depending on the suburban hotel vs large city/in-season rates vary. But I don't think any US hotel that is only $50 is suitable for intelligent humans, anywhere. I'd say $80 is the lowest anyone should go no matter where it is located. You used to get low cost deals in Orlando due to competition, but those days are over. At some point, it costs them more money to clean, air-condition, insure, and other upkeep on a room to ever let it go for less than $75. If you do less than that? You have a weekly rate with no housekeeping, or it's shitty and rundown or unclean, and the kind of place that is dangerous neighborhoods and rents by the hour. I wouldn't put my feet on the floor, let alone my body on the bed.
>>
>>1063762
I was just thinking about this kek
>>
>>1063492

I would if could but considering It's going to be out of my own pocket, it's probably not worth the extra leg space.

Rather spend the money on the actual trip rather than the flight but if I was filthy rich I'd certainly get first class everytime.

Korean Air is pretty damn good when taking trips to Asia. The leg space and service in coach is beyond anything you get with Murican flights.
