Venice is lovely this time of year
Are you single? If so, visit FKK clubs in Berlin and Frankfurt. You won't be disappointed.
Would being an aviation enthusiast improve my chances of getting bumped to business class or other perks?
Was thinking of wearing the airlines tshirt next time I fly.
>>1054126
It couldnt hurt, but annoying the gate agent will. If your not a member of a loyalty program your chances are slim anyways.
>>1054135
im also super polite with airline staff
>>1054126
No. The only thing that matters is your frequent flyer status with the airline/alliance.
Hey /trv/, I always wanted to go to Russia to obtain a degree in Automotive Engineering and/or some kind of Mechanical Engineering (engine mod for racing, chassis modding, painting, cnc for spare parts manufacture, soldering, any of the listed not all of them).
I was wondering if you can help me, where should I apply, which insitute/university is the best for that, and which is the cheapest way to travel and to live there.
> I have never travelled abroad
> Why Russia? I dunno but I really want to go there
> I live in South America
> I'm almost 30
> Here in the country I live, I have wasted my time and money studying an Automotive Engineering Degree but it is useless, I have no specialization or any kind of practice/ability apart from what I have been doing (been an assistant in a few repair garages and in some authorized dealers)
> My mother language is Spanish, I know English (and I'm sorry if it is reallly bad I do not have a degree on languages), and I do know a few Russian expressions and words (I can read cyrilic symbols)
> I'm still living with my mom
> I have some money saved (about 6k USD)
> I want to have my own repair garage
> If I'm lucky, I want meet a bunch of russian girls
> I'm tired of being a useless piece of shit

I sometimes consider travel but then I'm reminded that I don't like young travellers and their culture, they all seem insufferable and I would become one of them
Am I wrong about traveller culture?
>>1053970
>traveller culture
Literally don't know what you're talking about.
>>1053971
I mean the culture among young people who couchsurf and stay in hostels.

Care to elaborate?
American Programmer here:
Should I GTFO out to Israel? I'm tired of life in the US and I think it would be better there.
If you're a good programmer you can find a good job here for around 4-5k dollars a month. Expect rent to be around 1-1.5k a month and spending around 500$ for living.
If you have a capital for an apartment, which is around 300-500k dollars then you're better here
>>1053932
I wouldn't go unless you have mega savings first. The cost of leaving can be high to visit senpai back home, and housing starting prices is high. Don't get in over your head as a starter idea. Also, when and if the next conflict breaks out, you will need last minute airfare, so make sure you plan for that too. If you're just looking to expatriate, relocate in the US first and see if you can't take a job that gives you some extra income or a different climate. Go beach or go mountains, or something even touristy to improve your outlook on life.
So i just got offered an internship in Brussels, what are the chances, realistically, that I'm going to get shot and or blown up?
Also, what are fun things to do in the city?
>>1053922
>>1053922
Belgian here,
Brussels is a cool place, don't worry about "them terrorists". You'll feel safe in Belgium.
Are you interested in the culture and history or more for the modern art and such...?
If you like, we could hang out in Brussels and i could show you around. I love meeting new people.
To answer your question: imagine going to NYC on the 14th of september 2001. You'll be safe

I'm not on the ground there, so I can't tell you what it feels like, but for an internship, it'd be a great central location to be in Europe. It'd be an easy launching point to do weekend explorations, and it has a great bar atmosphere.

>what are the chances?
Zero.

Tell me your country's interesting trains. Luxury train? Railway gun? Anything is okay.
aus regional trains are the best I've ever been on
all really really clean, safe, people will talk to you
trains in northern vietnam were the scariest I've ever been on
people would try to fore ther way into your cabin, shove packages through the windows, the toilets at both ends leaved into the hall, the train would stop for hours for no reason in the middle of a field
What would be more practical to learn , french or spanish? and why? (pic unrelated)
Spanish. It basically opens up two continents to relationships, business, travel, and life.
should have said but im a britfag
It depends if you live in the Western Hemisphere, then Spanish. Africa and the Middle East, then French. Eastern hemisphere Spanish isn't spoken much outside of Spain, but French is behind English.
Just got back from a 2 month trip to Armenia, including long weekends to tbilisi and karabakh. AMA

How come 2 months? That seems a bit long. Did you meet anyone there or do you have some relatives from the country?
Do you have a cool dick?
Why are you posting this here?

Going to New York for ten days on Monday.
Anyone got any advice on how to get around and stuff to avoid? What's it like in terms of tipping?
Also, how long is it to get from Astoria to about the center of Manhattan and to JFK?
Maybe 20 minutes from Astoria via the N train on the 31st Street el. Get the Long Island railroad train at Penn, get off at Jamaica then take the airtrain to JFK. If you want to get to JFK from Astoria, take the N,get off at Queensboro Plaza,go to the opposite side for the 7 train to Flushing, get off at 61 Street-Woodside then get the LIRR train to Jamaica then Airtrain.

Anyone from Portugal or has been there?
I'm a Canadian planning on taking an extended holiday and I want to surf, unwind, and live somewhere cheap.
Is Portugal a good idea?
I dont know much about it, and i've travelled a fair amount, everything i've read about it sounds pretty good...
I've done this kind of holiday in mexico but want to try somewhere new.
Somewhere in the EU would be cool because i have duel-citizenship there.
my target is to live for $1000/month or less for everything...
is this possible in Portugal?
>live for $1000/month or less for everything
literally more than the average portuguese wage

I have an apartment near Sagres. There was a surf school there so I assume they get waves. I went there and denied myself nothing and was spending less than €50 a day. If you cooked for yourself and kept away from alcohol I see no reason why you shouldnt be able to live there on €1000 a month.
>>1051040
OP here thank you.
Sagres looks beautiful!
ya €700 a month would be ideal... €350 on accommodation and €350 for food and fun.
i want to surf and sketch/paint old buildings (and drink and meet women).
peniche and lisbon also look good
Got into Ulaanbaatar this morning and fuck it's cold. Top temp is -9. Staying in a really nice German style hostel, had the best breakfast I've had in months of travel in China.
I know a few regulars have been here before, anyone got good advice for Mongolia and Ulaanbaatar?
>>1050793
Looks comfy as fuck
Hope the best for you OP

What the fuck kind of houses are those and how can I buy one in America?
>>1050798
They are called Yurts, they are a bit like tents but tend to be more permanent (they might only pack up and move twice a year).
You can probably make one yourself.
