Hey there, i have been in Munich, Prague, Poland, since 2 months ago, but i wanna stay longer, any advise to be able to stay more time, or trick to get a residense/job permit?
First, it depends on your nationality. I'm from EU so I don't really need any of these because of Schengen. If you're from abroad, then the first step is to check your embassy's website, they might have tips for expats. Enjoy, Prague is a wonder !

In general for non-EU citzens you are only allowed to stain 90 days within 6 months with a tourist visa.
>EU Candidate States
>Turkey
Well played, Europe.
>go on trip
>it was shit
>come home
>feel shit
>home feels weird
>home feels like how the trip felt
>sudden depersonalisation
>see all the different ethnicities walking around my city
>strange feel
>its not a racist feel its just a weird, everyone is the same everywhere feel
>realize that travelling wont fix my at home problems
>feel lost
Help me, /trv/, I don't think I can go on until old age, how the fuck do people survive this mess

Which trip did you make ?
Welcome to the globalized world of the 21st century. The Cultural Marxists have ensured that any trace of national identity has been stamped out. They claim they want diversity but by inviting hordes of third world trash into Western countries they are creating a mongrel race and culture that is the same everywhere - the opposite of diversity. Travel is fast becoming pointless.
My only advice is to seek out those rare countries on planet Earth who are not afraid to reject the Politically Correct dogma and embrace their unique traditions and ethnic pride.

>going traveling to fix my problems back home
There's the real problem here. Travel doesn't fix shit it just put you in a different place for some time. If you do it long term the problems back home might disappear but if it's just a short trip nothing will change.
What sort of issues do you have back home?
I'm going to have to wait 12 hours for a bus in Nuremberg, Germany. What should/could I do to pass the time?

Go to a brothel.
I live in the USA (Chicago) and I am thinking about relocating somewhere else because as soon as Illinois, which is BROKE, can't afford to hand out food stamps anymore, all hell will break loose.
I'd like to move out to a more rural location, yet still within a few hour drive of a larger city if need be. Living near a quaint, artsy small town is good too.
I love to garden, and food production/self-sustainability is a high priority for me. I'd like to live where land and housing is cheap and own a few acres. I'm politically more on the conservative side. I like small towns with artsy/historic flair, tighter communities, places that have farmers markets, art fairs, mom and pop stores, with independent people concerned with keeping their city nice and their bodies healthy. A huge plus if the community is into self-sufficiency too. I kind of got that vibe when I visited WA state but there's a lot of "progressive left" people that that spoils it for me.
I enjoy having 4 seasons, although I'd like to move where winters are a little more mild than Chicago winters. Internet connection is a must since I do a lot of business online. Looking for natural beauty, relaxed life, and maybe some hills/mountains since IL is flat. I feel better with northern/yank blue-collar US culture or PNW culture better than southern US culture. Never been to the southwest so I can't comment on that.
Any good suggestions as to where to relocate? Obviously I'd visit places first and get a good feel of the vibe there.
Go move to North Carolina. If you want that rural lifestyle head towards the mountains but you'll still be within an hour or two drive of Asheville and Boone. Its got the vibe that you are looking for and it doesn't have too many "progressive lefties" out there. Being in the mountains you'll have some snow but nothing like it is up north. Also North Carolina has a good reputation for having a friendly population, especially in the region area. I live in the Piedmont but its a few hours drive to the mountains and its not very rural here.

Thanks.
The one and only thing that keeps me from being extremely interested in that area is the hot, humid summers. I can't stand them!
Cold, snow > hot & humid
But mountains always provide shelter and interesting weather patterns locally.
I'll check it out!
Oregon or Washington. If you want to avoid the wacky liberals just stay out of the Seattle/Portland areas. Of course there are liberals in other places in those states but less than you would expect.
The Coachella 2016 lineup is out and I'm torn whether to go or not. Can you guys give me some advice whether it's worth it?
Here's some background info:
>friend offering to sell me a ticket for first weekend
>have to decide by the end of the week
>I have wanted to go to a music festival for years but never been (have been to many concerts before)
>last year came up with the idea of going to Coachella
>lineup comes out and I'm disappointed, I'm more into rock/indie/alt rock type of music
>60% is electronic and the headliners are very meh for me
>still I might not get the opportunity to go again for a long time as I have some other plans for the upcoming years
I have also looked at the money, it will be around $800 for the weekend which would be around 16 of travel for me as I usually travel for around $50 per day. I have money, I'm not wealthy or anything but I have quite a bit saved up so I could still do some traveling but at the same time I always calculate my purchases throughout.
Right now I feel like I will lose both ways. If I go I will be out of money for half a month of travel and if I don't go I will regret not going. If one of the headliners was a band I really like, Black Keys or Arcade Fire for example, this would be a no-brainer. Instead I don't know what the fuck I should do...

I've wanted to go to Coachella the past few years, and this lineup is pretty terrible. The only day I would consider going (personally) is Saturday, but for me it's not worth the flight from Chicago to California for one day of festival, let alone the fucking 2 hour drive from LA to Coachella, not including the ungodly amount of traffic there will be on the way.
Go if you want, but I would save my money for another festival if I were you OP.
>>1066347
>I have wanted to go to a music festival for years but never been
>if I don't go I will regret not going.
These would be my main concern. Money will come back, but opportunities might not.
I'd go.
Why does North American have so little EDM festivals? I don't think anyone in the US even knows what gabber is.
What do in Paris? Saw most of the main sights already.
Interested a lot in history, French Revolution, theatre and especially everything free/cheap.
Where can I eat without going bankrupt?
Thanks /trv/
>Interested a lot in history, French Revolution, theatre and especially everything free/cheap.
When it comes to theatre very few things are cheap in Paris, let alone free.
if you have been in the big museums already, start to dig deeper. I'd recommend the Cluny museum for medieval art, great collection, beautiful building, free for students.
>Where can I eat without going bankrupt?
15th arrondissement, arround the Pernety metro station.
>>1063896
This guy is lost.
1st of all, Cluny is pretty boring.
I would say go to Musee Carnavalet and Musee de la chasse et de la nature, both in Marais.
Musee de l'Homme has also just recently reopened if you didn't see it yet.
Why would you go to 15th, it's fucking insanely boring. There are a lot of places around Belleville or Strasbourg St. Denis for example where you can eat for a decent price, and it's way more interesting area than the 15th. Also Le Comptoir General next to the canal is nice place that serves african food, and turns into a club weekend nights (I usually go there on Sundays when it's chill).
Enjoy.
>>1063886
>Where can I eat without going bankrupt?
Rue Mouffetard, Latin Quarter.
It's not all cheap, it has some expensive places but also lots of mid-range places if you want a 'genuine' french meal using the day's set menu. And lots of cheap baguette places for students.
Hey travel. This is the first time I've ever been here.
My 22 year old sister is planning to travel to Central America alone. I don't think she can even name a country there. She has never traveled anywhere alone or even been out of Canada.
My fiancé is telling me it is a horrible idea for her to go alone. I feel like she's going to end up getting raped or murderer.
Are we over reacting? It is a dangerous place, right?
I've tried to talk some sense in to her but she won't listen.
>>1068890
Your sister could get hit by a car walking down the street. Or hit by a falling meteor. Or murdered in the supermarket. Anywhere can be considered dangerous. If you live in fear, you'll end up wasting your life playing it safe and not doing anything at all. Maybe she has been doing research? It's not for you to decide.
Also, Central America is a pretty broad term.
I'll assume you can't name a country their either, and seems stupidity runs in your family.
>>1068890
Does she speak any spanish? If she doesnt she will need to be very careful and shouldnt stray too far off the tourist trails, since shes alone. If she is outgoing (or good looking) she will probably meet people in hostels that will look out for her, women and men
Anyway, my sister felt the same way about me when i wanted to travel thru mexico. I didnt listen to her and we had a big fight about it.
I went anyway and it turned out to be the best trip of my life.
My spanish then was 4 years of high school. Now im fluent
>>1068900
No she only speaks English.
Hello, is anyone here familiar with the experience of being an exchange student in USA?
Anything I should know?
Where are you from and what university do you want to attend?
I was an exchange student in the USA. From Montreal, QC.
Americans are cool. There's nothing really you need to know, imo.
high school or college?
if in high school, find the clique with the hottest girls, that is the best crowd to make friends with.
when a guy from spain came to our school, my friends and i befriended him, and he ended up going to parties almost every weekend, and lost his virginity
Thinking of moving from Houston to Seattle.
Has anyone been to both places and can tell me the difference?
Does anyone live in Seattle and can give some insight?
Also, feel free to ask me about Houston or Texas
Moved to beaumont not to long ago.. what i dont like about going to houston is the busy ass traffic and the fact that the freeways are ALWAYS under construction
Why are you moving? Do you have a job lined up?
>>1066276
Visited Houston, live in Seattle now. (Used to live in New Orleans.)
+ Still no income tax.
- more hipsters than Austin
- no oil money
+ lots of tech money.
+ Summer is way nicer than Houston.
- Winter way worse than Houston.
+ Seattle winter better than in the midwest.
+? Instead of Latinos, Seattle has Asians
-- Hard to make friends in Seattle.
+ No god damn mosquitoes, termites and cockroaches.
Is there a cheap location that's warm and has a lot of beaches where's it's easy to start a life near or in a big city
Would prefer something deserty or American but I don't think that's possible
>>1068719
Is South America "American," or do you mean the USA? If the former, look into the area along Colombia's Caribbean coast, if Cartagena is big enough to qualify as a big city.
I'm going to assume you already know that moving to another country is a bit more complicated than to another state, and that you understand that if you have no employable skillz and/or are poor, it may not be easy...
>>1068719
Pompano Beach, FL
15 minutes from Fort Lauderdale, 35 minutes from Miami.
A lot cheaper than living in aforementioned cities.
Mexico
I have a dream that one day i will be able to travel through the world with one bike. I want to work hard and make the money that it needs so after that leave for 1 year and see all the world. Is anyone out there that have done that before in his life? What were your experience about that? I believe there is no such a thing and an experience like this that a man can have in his life.
>>1068844
Haven't done it but I ride motorcycles and have done a few trips in my country on them.
1. This mode of transport is more expensive than pretty much all except solo car travel.
2. Learn how to make repairs on your bike. You don't have to be a full fledged mechanic but you better know how to do some minor tune ups and repairs.
3. If you don't currently ride, get your license now and even if it takes you 5 years to afford a long trip you'll be an experienced rider when you go. There's more involved in riding a motorbike than driving a car.
4. Go on a shorter 1 month trip before embarking on one around the world.
5. Pick the right bike for where you're going to go. Investing $20,000 in an R1200 would be a waste of money for me.
>>1068848
1. yeah i am thinking about that too but i love to ride so much, hope to have that much money to do not worry about that :)
2. i sure have to learn about this yeah..
3. i ride for like 7 years, that won't be a problem
4. never tried something like that before. the longest ride that i have done was like 500 kh but yeah you are right, i need to start from something shorter
5. which bike do you think is right one? I believe every bike above 600cc is capable for something like that.
thanks for the reply!
>>1068854
Yeah I agree anything above 600cc will be good. People have done it on smaller bikes but I think 600cc+ will be comfortable enough and powerful enough to handle all roads. I'm thinking of getting an f650gs this year for a longer trip myself.
On pages like Urlaubspiraten (german website) there are often rather cheap offers and bargeins being broadcasted:
http://www.urlaubspiraten.de/
I'm considering, if I should give it a try for a spontaneous trip. But i wonder, if there are any risks involved that I don't see or know about.
Are spontanous long distance trips a smart decision at all? I wonder...
Has anyone here booked bargains trough such pages at all so far? Or is it mostly scamstuff?
>>1068771
I am not familiar with that particular site, but there are a number of scams out there.
By scams, I mean they will sell you a legitimate ticket, usually, but if anything at all goes wrong (and with air travel, things sometimes go wrong) the customer service is non-existent and the airline just refers you back to the sit e that sold you the ticket. Do your due-diligence on the site you buy tickets from -- and recall the thing about deals that are too good to be true.
>>1068771
I just booked a trip to Lissabon for three nights.
The price was OK.
First time making experience with urlaubsguru.
Give it a try!
Also you can search for hotel ratings on pages likr TripAdvisor if you are not sure.
No idea about the websites you mentioned.
But spontaneous trips always turned out great for me. They always reminded me what life is about.
I'm in the U.S., currently taking a gap year. I've always, for many years, wanted to visit the arctic north, like Svalbard, or Greenland, whether with some kind of expedition/tour group or alone.
I'm fascinated by remote places and arctic landscapes, and I want to ride around a snowmobile in one of these places.
What's are my best options for doing this? I've never traveled intentionally before, so that doesn't help. But assume money isn't really a critical issue here.
>>1068691
>I've never traveled intentionally before
internationally*, fuck
Alaska
>>1068699
Alaska doesn't cut it. I want the real arctic north.
Out of all these places what's the best place to study abroad?
I would really like to hook up with local women 2bh brehs. It's like around $10k for most programs and I'll get grants and shit.
Thoughts?

Go for Spain m8

If you just wanna fug, I'd say Central Europe or Japan. Czech and Japanese girls are freaks.
Help me, /trv/. I need to find a destination to go with my GF this February for a whole month. Not sure were should we go. Any suggestions? The only thing is that we don't want it to be only beaches. Our budget is of around 3k for the whole month.
where are you travelling from?
>3k for a whole month
If you want to go to Europe, that doesn't leave you many options. Eastern Europe might be your best bet. Southern Europe in the less expensive spots, maybe.
Other than that just go to SEA. It's cheap, exotic, touristy, you name it.
>>1068410
South America. Tickets not included with the budget.
