Hey guys, I just got one question, wich I have to know right now. I got a job-proposal and now I have to go from Belgium to Ireland, I already booked a flight (almost) and I can also do a transfer (so I arrive at Dublin Airport and have to go to Belfast city centre)
There are these bus-transfers and one says:
Dublin Apt Express - Belfast City Centre (Single)
Does that mean 'Dublin AIRPORT Express' or am I completly retarded?
I will thank you up front!
Cya
Yep there should be direct buses fron dublin airport to main cities since trains in ireland are shit.
You're not retarded, that's correct.
I'm going to Cyprus for a week in four days, being based in Larnaca the whole time.
I want to see Nicosia, Limassol, Famagusta, and possibly Kyrenia and Paphos if it's not too long for a day trip. I don't have my own car, and have to rely on public transport. Will this be a problem? How is transport between north and south? Can I take a bus from Larnaca to Famagusta, for example, or to Kyrenia?
Any other sights apart from the big cities I shouldn't miss, that can be reached by public transport?
I've been to Cyprus, great place. Transport between North and South can be tricky without a local, although as long as you're from a politically stable country you'll be fine (EU passport is the easiest way to do it, that way it's easier to get back into the South).
Get a Taxi to Karpasia in the far North East, you won't regret it. There's a monastery right on the tip next to a huge beach (Golden Beach, pic related) which is often empty. The monastery has monks which allow visitors to come in and look at the ancient buildings, amazing, and in the middle of nowhere, in a cove next to the beach.
My only advice is get to the North East and back in one piece, its the most rural and least visited part, and you'll become more interesting if you go there instead of some tourist scum.

Apostolos Andreas Monastery.
Become cultured, OP. Learn some shit.
Hi all,
Please suggest to me some holiday destinations.
Must be coastal with beautiful beaches, hot and sunny. I live in Australia and have been to Brazil, New Caledonia. I refuse to go to Thailand.
Thanks in advance.
Comoros. The Andamans. Zanzibar. Mozambique. Australia.

Turku, Åland and Helsinki are great places to go in Finland.
Hello guys!
I would like to start a general frugal thread for /trv purpose, like a connession between trv and biz.
So, do you have any advice and pro tips to save money to travel (no car, home made stuff, etc. .)?
Share with us.
By a /trv dreamer.
Homemade stuff? Interesting idea; like what?
>Don't pay for transport
>Don't pay for accommodation

Work your ass off and quit drinking. If you live in the Western world and don't have kids/too much debt, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to afford a couple vacations every year.
23/M/Senior in college going to Beijing for spring break with my two room mates. What should we do?

Go hike the great wall. Go to the Mutianyu portion not Badaling.
You take a ski lift up to the top from the parking lot. Then you toboggan down at the end of the day. Hike all the way to the end of the restored section. Ignore all of the signs that say end of tourist area. Keep going. Find a cool looking brick to take home. Leave really early, its pretty far from the city center. You can spend all day there.
So me and my girlfriend are road tripping from Ames to Colorado where we will be staying in Denver but am open to going anywhere within Colorado. I know for sure will be going to Pikes peak and some hot springs. Other than that am looking for some good hiking spots and views all around colorado. Also i am wondering some must do things in colorado.I am wondering about what is a must do in colorado and what is a must see we are really interested in the outdoors, hiking, and learning about new things. Also what is some must try food places? Also 420
Hot springs
just driving through the countryside is spectacular enough. if you're going to go north Telluride is worth a stop. also forget about weed on your roadtrip, dingus.
Looking to finally just get up and go. Not sure if this is the right board, but advice or anything would be very appreciated.

The most important part is the mindset of wanting to get up and go, so you have that sorted at least. Next for the details. Well where are you from? Age/sex? How long are you looking to go away for? Just a long vacation or permananetly?
>>1089390
I currently live in North Carolina. I'm a 22 year old male. This would be an actual move. I'd visit my hometown here and there, but it would be a permanent stay

Okay are you employed at the moment? If so what do you do? Have any savings? What education do you have? Whats important to you in a place where you move? What about yourself, what are your hobbies and interests? Do you want to stay in the US or move to another country? I'm asking so many questions cause your first post was quite vague. I'm guessing from your first post that you haven't travelled much?
I feel you in any case bro, I am about to graduate and I am going to move abroad afterward but cannot decide between two different destinations. I have two different life paths opening up in front of me and its very hard for me to pick either one.
I have 36 hours in the Chicago Loop at the Palmer House (late night Fri-Sun morn), layover really. I've been to the city many times, however, never really downtown, always suburbs for business and not in about 8 years. Impromptu trip...and ironically just got done reading Devil in the White City.
I just figured out the St. Patricks Parade and river dyeing will happen this Saturday. Any tips on the parade without a chair? Short? Must See? Skippable? Has anyone attended the whole days events? Any tips for navigating the Art Institute with limited time? Any safety concerns walking around at night within 6 blocks of the hotel as a female? If I walk to dinner should I taxi the return? I was thinking of Berghoff for one meal, or going down to Lou Malnatis, but it's close to "south side" right? Just curious. Always wanted to do a Rick Bayless night but I think its only like a food court/mall location close. SUPER excited. I love Chicago weather. Weigh in and tell me your favorites with the neighborhood.
It's Paddy's not Patty's
Welcome!
Firstly I want to apologise for my english. I have hope you understand what I mean.
I want to go with my friends to Norway in last few days in June for 4-5 days. I would like to see wonderfull views/places. We want make/survive new experience and we decided to travel by hitchhaking and sleep in a tent. So we decided to see mainly fjords but I want to see more. It doesn't mind class of popular specyfic place. From Gdansk (Poland) we could fly to Oslo, Bergen, Molden.
So... What are you recomended to see?
Thanks for all ansewers.

Check out trolltunga if youre into hiking
If you want nature, go to the west coast, travel from Bergen and up north to Ålesund, the nature there is god tier
Yes, it sound good, but what typical places must We see. Something about travel from Bergen. What concretly/typical places, we must to see. Mainly we want to see Trolltunga, Trollsteigen, and I think it wolud be good to start from Bergen.
Where do I start? I wanna hear from you.
Hiking? /out/. Bring more water than you think, either sneaks or boots depending on terrain, bring food. Make sure the boots are pre-broken in. An extra pair of socks never hurts.
>>1089327
Where do you live? Pretty much every continent has a great location to do some hiking. I suggest starting locally (in your country if you can or a nearby one).
Don't invest a lot into gear until you're really into it, there's a lot of douches who wear $1000 outdoorsy jackets in my city who have never been outside of the city proper. I do recommend getting a good pair of hiking shoes or boots (depending where you want to go hiking). You can get those for $100.
If you want to do pic related you'll have to go to Hobbiton village in New Zealand.

Most laughable and overpriced tourist trap in the whole country, and that's saying something, considering they invented zorbing.
Writing is my passion. Is there a way I can turn that into a lucrative career that will allow me to travel? What are my options?
>>1089241
Just take nice pictures of cool and pretty places around the world, be a girl and get a gorillion likes on facey-b. That's a career.
It's really not viable, mate. Unless you're one top-top tier author, you're just going to have to face it.
Here are some points to consider:
1. Find a niche and start a Kickstarter/Indie Gogo
Like documenting X obscure activity around the world and some people might throw money at you. But this requires to be expert on at least 2 subjects (writing+niche)
2. Being a "digital nomad" and working a freelance writer job while living in cheap countries
There's a thread about this right now, check it.
>>1089241
If you're a decent writer, you can probably sustain yourself in the cheaper parts of the world doing freelance work.
Yo /trv/,
I am trying to find a cheap place to stay for me and a few mates any good sites to find hotel rooms/holiday houses?
I only know about housetrip.com and booking.com
What continent were you thinking of?
Try airbnb.com.
hi /trv/
ITT: show off your bags
tempted to buy a new everyday backpack, to start with. namely the fjällräven kånken, but I haven't settled on which variety to get.
my other bags include:
* a targus laptop backpack I never cared much for and which the kånken would replace
* two no-brand questionable-quality travelling bags (one ~50L for hand-luggage and a considerably larger 100+ litre one I use for roadtrips and checked-in luggage)
* the Lowepro NOVA 160 AW I've come to realise was never very ideal for me
* the Jack Wolfskin ACS Photopack... provides too much camera gear space and too little space for other stuff
I'm from Sweden but family from Bosnia, and we visit Bosnia every summer, the problem is that i can't speak bosnian for shit. Well, i can speak a little but it's not enough. At the same time i would, need to learn Japanese since i will be working there soon.
What is the best way of learning fast? Like, really fast. And where do i start?
pic not related.
>>1089172
Oh my friend. Bakan diaspora. Well fast, the best way is to snoop around YouTube for lessons. Find a complete series and go by the title, it will describe what is covered. After that surround yourself with media in the language you want to learn. Movies, music and something that's written down.
