I'll make this as concise as possible. I'm a teacher, i started working last year and hate the job. I've already made up my mind to quit after this year. I googled the cheapest cities to live and Thailand seems like the best fit for me, apparently you can rent apartment for about $80-$200 a month. By the end of the this year I should have about 30-40k saved. I have means of earning about $500-$800 a month online, so that's my plan. Live in Thailand while I work online and earn under 1k a month to live of off. Am I absolutely crazy or is there somewhere else I can get more bang for my buck? I would appreciate ANY advice, your experience or alternative locations I might also enjoy. MONEY is the real crux tho. If I could earn more than $800ish a month i'd be more inclined to live somewhere safer.
Thailand is not dangerous but keep in mind that you'll have to do a visa run quite often (I think monthly)
I'm considering leaving my country too...
I'm undecided on where to live, Vietnam/Thaïland/China/Taiwan??
Any experiences to share?

that does suck, having to leave the country every month...
How good is Ann Arbor?
I'm going there for like 3 weeks in October, for work.
Is there anything cool to do? Or am I gonna be bored as fuck?
I'm French btw from Paris
Michifag here, currently posting from a tiny-ass village in Tanzania.
Ann Arbor is one of a scarce few places in Michigan I wouldn't mind living for a year or two.
I don't know if you'll find enough to keep yourself happy and occupied for the better part of a month, but there's certainly more to do than in East Lansing or Livonia. Google the "Ann Arbor Observer" and find its events listing - they compile a series of activities in the city weekly. Found some interesting things to do with dates off there in the past.
Ann Arbor is pretty liberal and has a nice 'local' restaurant, bar, and brewery scene, which is largely concentrated around the downtown. If you're single and not dismally unattractive, it'd be easy to meet students in October, when the school year is still fresh.
If you have the spare cash and any interest, consider going to a football game, especially if it's against Ohio State or Michigan State. Shit gets pretty heated.
Ann Arbor is really a college town. Unless you're in college or really like college football, you can only really keep yourself occupied for about a week
Anyone here been to Kaunas? What did you think about it?
I'm thinking of going with a group of friends for an extended weekend due to cheap flight tickets.
Is it worth it?

Made a trip from Warsaw-Brest-Minsk-Vilius-Kaunas-Kaliningrad-Gdansk
Kaunas is rather small, but has some nice sites to offer. When I was there they started to rebuilt their central avenue, it is like a boulvard with a lot of parks and attractions. Must be lovely right now since it is finished and its sumemr time. Night life is - depending on your companions - chill. Couple of beers, live bands, youngters speak englsh
>>1278459
dont bother, nothing special to see here for a tourist.
t. live in Kaunas
I want to spend 3 months in Asia. I'm waiting for something and I have ~4 months free time. I have an EU passport, so visa-free 90 days entry. Should I look at anything other than Japan? Seems like anything else is a boring shithole. I have no plans to ever go to Asia again. I don't want to travel in between countries I would like to directly fly from EU and travel only locally.

Japan and China. South Korea is MEH.

what are you even talking about?
I'm planing on moving somewhere with nice weather (I'm from ny) and I need some help choosing:
Honolulu
Phoenix
San Diego
Jacksonville
Tampa
Miami
Virginia Beach (I know it gets really cold, it's still better than ny)
Houston
Charleston
Savannah
>>1278307
Savannah is a hole, if you decide to move here, live in pooler instead.
The 31401 zipcode (the downtown area) is more expensive to live in than most of Atlanta, and you're still going to have homicides right outside your door. If you want to live somewhere that looks nice and "historic," do Charleston instead. The food culture in both cities is lit af though.

I was in savanah about 7 years ago and it was kinda nice. Either my 12 year old mind distorted things or it got worse since I last went

Rents have skyrocketed and the police have decided to finally start cracking down on the gangs that have been growing over the last two decades. The good nightlife and touristy areas are even getting shot up now.
I want to ask a person who have traveled in many countries.
what country do you think is the best to live in?
Besides the obvious Japan, Finland seemed to be the most "perfect" as a society. Even still, it's not for everyone (cold 75% of the year, boring people, and nothing to do but drinking).

Switzerland is excellent if you have the money or a Swiss based job.

why do you think Japan is good?

In the US DTI and DFW are surprisingly awesome.
I don't understand why New York City's airports are such shit. That is embarrassing tbqh.
I have almost $9000 dollars saved up in my bank account. I just graduated HS, and I worked way too many hours at shitty entry-level/manual labour jobs, but now I have a decent amount of money cause of it. I need to attend a semester of university for my parents, but I have a meaty scholarship and unlimited meal plan, so I plan on spending almost no money. Is it realistic to think I could move to spain in january? I am getting a useless degree so Idc about college, and I looked online and found rooms for rent at under 250 euros in alcala de henares. As for jobs, idk how it works there. I am pampered from living in texas, where I could literally just walk up to a construction site as soon as I looked over 13 and get 10$ per hour work. Is it similar there? I know spain had a harsh job market, but is it still easy to get jobs people don't want to do? Or, even better, is it semi-easy to get cushy jobs like restaurant work/not backbreaking shit? I don't plan on having a family, I just need money to eat and pay for rent, along with enough money to maybe hire a whore every now and again. I now flights to madrid are ridiculously expensive from texas, so if anyone has any tips as to how I can save money on that pls help. Also idk how visas work. The only foreign country ive been to is mexico and I have literally never been stopped going into the country, I have never even got my passport stamped there, I just bring my driver's license. So ya, thats all I got. Is what I want to do possible?
>inb4 why do you want to move, grass isnt greener, etc
I just wanna get out in the world, and I have nothing tethering me to the states. Europe/asia/africa look cool and they are more accessible there, plus I can always go back to the americas.
also i forgot to mention it but I speak pretty decent spanish. I can socialize/make friends pretty easy in mexico, and I've never had a major problem come up because of communication.

Youth unemployment is really massive in Spain and in addition to this you will be competing for the shittier jobs with millions of Romanians poles and whoever else who do actually have permission to work there thanks to the free movement in the EU.
Im not sure if there is a working holiday type agreement for Spain with the USA- I doubt it but you can always look into it as that would be your best (and possibly only) chance. To be honest you sound like you haven't researched any of this at all, which is strange for such a big life move... But hey ho... Maybe the best thing for you would be to do a tiny bit of research about the country you want to move your entire life to. But that's just the opinion of a stranger on the internet,
Good luck fucker- you'll need it.

You'll probably have a better chance at getting job in like Australia or NZ on a working holiday visa. Europe is pretty saturated.
I have a friend in NZ right now, and he works as a backpacker at a travel agency there. But there are bar/restaurant jobs too. Ask the hostel/hotel staff when you get there, they'll find you something.
hey /trv/ i don't really post on here a lot but i'm moving to mainland china in september. i'm moving to quanzhou; what should i expect in terms of food/people/transportation/nightlife/dating/access to vidya (i only play retro games so i think i should be good)

Hi guys. I wanted ask you about cash in hand jobs in Australia. I would like to go there for 3 months on tourist visa and find a job not to make money but to a least pay accommodation.
How is the case with illegal cash in hand jobs?
>>1284611
Its gonna to be hard to milk sheep if you're holding cash in your hand all the time just us a bank
Had to reread this several times to figure you you weren't talking about hand jobs. This is 4chan after all.
>>1284611
Grew up in a rural area in Australia, cash in hand is the norm unless you're working for a corporation. Find a small cafe or grocery store and you'll likely be paid cash for part time work although it will probably be less than minimum wage. Don't expect to get anything from the government though.
Hey guys. I'm travelling to Catalunya in a few weeks, basically doing Barcelona 4 nights, Sitges 2 nights, Tarragona 2 nights. I've already been to Barcelona so I've seen the major sights, but now I'm going with my girlfriend, so I'm looking for advice on how to have fun with a girl there. Any advice is welcome.
We'll be doing some museums, some food & wine tasting (not a proper food tour, just go out and eat lol), we'll be doing a daytrip or two to Figueres and Girona maybe, see some Gaudi stuff, etc. Anything you can suggest falling under these categories would be welcome.
We're also gonna do some beaches (looking for nudist ones to try out too!), some nightlife (preferably cool bars and pubs, not huge discos), maybe even hit up a swinger's club just for fun. Any suggestions in these areas?
Just for reference, we are in our late 20's, this is not babby's first trip abroad, though it is our first trip as a couple, so we both want to make it special. We have a decent budget, meaning we won't be hitting 5-star restaurants every night, but we could afford some mid- to high-class dining once or twice. We can both get by decently well in spanish as well. Thanks guys!

Lol enjoy getting slapped on the ass on every corner by some faggot
>Tarragona 2 nights
Never been there, but I heard the Roman buildings were top choice
Okay, so further advice, hmmm, let´s see what else OP is asking

Ah I see, truly a work of art, this baitpost. Never seen one so subtle, yet so infuriating before. Here´s a well deserved (You), you fucking faggot.

wtf is your problem? Let me guess, are you a retarded, separatist catalan? Yeah, I know spanish is not the official language of catalunya, you mong, but everyone speaks it there, except for stuck-up snobs playing Che Guevara revolutionaries.
>>1283573
I dont even think the most retarded catalan would expect a foreigner to communicate with them in catalan instead of spanish
I have a friend traveling the country. She's driving around in a Volkswagen van with her cat, she's already kicked some ass and not even a year in but she needs some assistance. she's run out of money you can help by spreading her travel blog she can one day get enough traffic and have an income from it or contact her about possible employment or other possible income sources wherever she happens to be at the moment or donate directly to her. I'm looking to travel to France soon, but I want to spend all my time in once city. I'm looking at either Paris, nice, menton, or Ajaccio.
>Nice/Menton/Ajaccio
>One week stay
are you out of your mind?
You can either go to Paris, Lyon or Marseilles but don't waste one week of your life in fucking Menton or Nice. Visit Corsica but don't stay in Ajaccio
>>1279590
I'm gonna stay for 3 weeks, and I was planing on going to bars and getting laid

stuck in manila for 2 weeks waiting for a flight
is there anything of remote interest here worth touristing over?
people here are friendly and the food is decent. not complaining, but overall getting around js such a pain i feel like just getting coffee every day
>>1285113
Manila is an awful place, why not head down to a beach at Puerto Galera. It's probably about 100 kilometres to Batangas then across on the ferry.
Even if you don't like beaches being stuck there is better than being stuck in Manila
>>1285121
i have a friend here in makati and we han out when he gets off work
it really does seem mostly awful here but i just came from spending weeks at a beach and am looking to go to another beach so I'd thought to give it a try here
when i am tired here it feels nearly like hell on earth, not even 5 inches of personal space when walking, unreasonably slow traffic to go just 1 km, etc... but i have several friends who like it here because of the social atmosphere, so I'm giving it a try. i just feel bored during the day
They have cool malls, but so does everywhere else in SEA
