Everybody is always raving about Budapest nightlife (pun intended).

Don't get scammed during the day by brown people from ye olde east.

VII. district is where its at, if you are into that thing, partying with fellow foreigners, drunk Britbong slags and so on
look for so-called ruin pubs, that's a local thing tourists seem to be fond of
Castle, Parlament building, the Grand Marketplace and public baths are nice
architecture too, if you are into Jugendstíl/art nouveau
check out maybe a free walking tour, there are thematic ones as well
>>
>>1114410
go hiking the budaside & check out the Budapest history museum in the old castle neighborhood.
The church up there is really nice as well.

Check out Instant Club for nightlife. Filled with foreigners and just unlike anything else

Hi /trv/,
I'm a Canadian planning to travel to Ireland. I will be going to London first for a few days, then I want to go to ireland for 6 or 7 days, then back to London.

We would fly into Dublin, then maybe rent a car or just train and public transit everywhere we need to go.

Can I have some help planning my trip? I'm really into the breweries but all of the brewery tours I saw had pictures of old people, so fuck that I'm 25.

Any advice or suggestions for Ireland would be appreciated.

Not from Canada so it might be different, but from what I've researched, it's much cheaper to fly into Dublin than London.
>>
>>1114084
Yeah, my sister lives in London so I'm going to visit her for a couple days. I've been to london a few other times so I'm only going to see her, then go somewhere during the week because she works, then back to london the following saturday or sunday. At least that's the plan.

Do you mean breweries (of beer) or distilleries (of whiskey)?

If you mean the former, the Guinness place in Dublin is friendly to all-ages, although it is very much a tourist attraction - albeit one that is interesting and informative.

The one distillery I've been to in Ireland is at Bushmills, in the north. I'd strongly recommend it, actually (not least as the Giant's Causeway is just down the road, and the landscape round about is stunning, although the town of Bushmills itself sucks rather a lot).

Otherwise - depends what you are interested in. Ireland has both stunning country scenery, great music and hospitality, and a few really appealing medium-sized towns. (Galway probably my favourite of those, Belfast is great and a lot of incredibly interesting stuff concerned with its recent history to see too, Dublin is a charming capital - at least the city centre part, anyway). But above all i'd say - don't overlook the North, there is a hell of a lot of great things there

I'm considering travelling to sub-Saharan Africa in the not too distant future. In particular, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia have caught my interest.

Are there any other countries in the region you guys would recommend? Preferably English-speaking ones where the crime rate isn't too ludicrous.

Thanks, /trv/

Swapkomund in Namibia was one of my all time favourite places and I cannot recommend it enough. One of the few places that felt safe enough to walk around alone at night
>>
>>1113989
Sounds nice; I'll have to check it out. Thanks
>>
>>1113985
Crime rate is ludicrous everywhere; you just need to be have common sense.
Chances are you entry port would be Johannesburg, South Africa. There are a couple of places there you could see or at least pick up some essentials before you head to the other places.

I'll vouch for Namibia; it's one of my favorite places.

Someone sell Australia too me. My friend invited me on a trip to Aus for "about a month". I can get the time off work and I have money, but is it worth it? Australia just seems like a cultureless wasteland with lots of spiders.

What's the appeal?

Ausfag here.
What are you into?
If you're into camping and swimming in rivers and waterfalls, then Australia is great. I haven't heard of any visitor here not loving it. There's also a shit load of pubs/bars and shit.
I guess you'd have to specify what kind of holiday you want for a more specific answer
>>
>>1113806
culture? is it just pubs?
>>
>>1113815
Ha, well, honestly no, not much culture here. Unless you want to check out the indigenous population and such.
But then again, that's just me, a different aussie might disagree wholeheartedly.

>24 years old and live in England
>Have 20k in savings
>Applied and got accepted into engineering degree programs starting September
>Have traveled and stayed in America for 3 months in the past with friends
>Ultimately wish to move to US/CA permanently

While I'm at school I will be getting zero funding from family and will be amassing huge amounts of debt. My goal is to move to the US and it seems like there is no way to get there without having a degree and getting an employer to sponsor you which is difficult in of itself. I'd much prefer to save my money and have no debt but be able to make it over there with an income, but I don't see how this is possible without a greencard marriage, which is not an option.

Do I really have to get myself into huge amounts of debt to be eligible for skilled visas?

Shame, I already fell in love with your country.
>>
>>1112248
Is this masters level work you want to do in the US? Maybe wait...get your degree done in your country, work/intern a year...make more savings...then come on over on your own funds. Engineering degree debt isn't a stupid idea, could have little risk, but it's not the only path.
Want to do computer engineering and focus on security? Might get some college to pay your way for that one, being a non-asian and higher chances of not being declined some security clearance.

I'm a EU citizen. This summer i'm going to the USA for the first time nd I will have to do 2 transit flights to reach my destination. I'd like to know

What's this ESTA all about?
Are security control really a pain in the ass?
Do I have to check my bag again for each stop in the USA?

My itinerary will be: Rome, Paris, Denver and Helena in Montana (yes, I like mountains and quality beer).

You will have to go through customs and recheck your bag at your first US stop. After that (assuming you had more than one connection) you wouldn't see your checked bags until your final destination.

anyone worked the japenese ski resorts?

I work in hospitality and I can skii a bit

have concerns that wages up there might be slave-like, and cost of living really high
also that it might be a sausage-fest

but then it sounds like an experience, and something that's fairly within my reach

Yeah nah it's not Whistler. Can't just show up in sandals with a bottle of jack and ride out the winter working the lifts and sleeping in a staff hotel room.

They're strict rule abiding assholes up that way. Trust me man it will NOT happen without work papers and you will NOT get said work papers.

Don't get me wrong, I love it when weebs get their hopes and dreams crushed but I dont want to live with knowing i encouraged some dumbfuck freezing to death on my conscience.

This is almost as stupid as the Somalia backpacking guy.
>>
>>1117024
I'm aware papers are a strict requirement, but I don't see any reason I wouldn't get them
I've got friends who went up there and worked in ski stores and cruised out the winter

where is you advice coming from, have you been?

I'll be visiting northern Italy in September. While I'm there, I'm curious if there is any world war 2 sites I can visit. I've always found that part of history fascinating.

I did Sicily and southern Italy last winter. So I've seen a lot of those locations. But I'm just curious about the northern area. Thanks

What do you mean specifically, like memorials of killings, museums? You can find stuff especially about partisans in many cities or towns.

History of fascism is though still a taboo in northern italy, you can visit Saló or mussolini's town Predappio though i dunno if they are actually interesting.

Congolese music from the 60s/70s blew my mind when I first got into it. There's nothing that really sounds remotely like it...

If you like electric guitar...
