Hey /trv/. Thinking about going to Tallinn in Estonia for some decent parties. I've got some questions about it, and I would appreciate your help. Is it good destination for partying, meeting girls and getting some one night stands? I would like to go with a couple of friends for a New Year's Eve. Of course, we are males.

No, it's just full of Scandinavian and English lads looking for the same thing. The ratio at bars in Old Town and other areas is horribly unbalanced, just tons of fucking dudes everywhere. Go somewhere else.
>>
>>1142601
Thanks for the answer. So maybe someone could recommend a place for new years eve? We just want to party hard and meet nice girls.

Alright I found some info about Prague. What /trv/ feel about it?

Is there anyone on here who've traveled the world?

No. But it is my dream. Since three years I am preparing myself to do it. I know it won't be this or next year, or even in five years. But one day...
>>
Been to every continent except Africa. Even the Middle East, Bhutan, Tibet, and some of the 'stan countries. I've backpacked through many countries and it's kind of wearing me out. Next destination is Costa Rica because I just want to lay on the beach and drink.
>>
>>1142462
Do you have any desire to visit Africa?

I lead a fairly Bohemian wanderlust-driven life so I've been around a bit but I can't think of any reason to visit a place that seems like hell on earth as far as human culture is concerned.

Been traveling for three months now around Europe and I've been trying to study Arabic. Question is does anyone have experience traveling in any Arabic speaking countries that you think would be the safest right now? I'm planning to go to Morocco next month and will volunteer (work away) at a English school and from there I'll fly to Israel to say hi to some old travel friends. I would like to continue traveling into the Middle East. I am a US citizen so I might just be fucked. Any advice?

>>
1. Get to terms with the fact that you're not going to learn "Arabic".

2. When you get to Israel make absolutely sure you get a stamp on a separate sheet of paper on your passport, otherwise kiss Arab countries goodbye from that point onward.
>>
>>1142448
Yeah, been aware that a lot of neighboring countries will refuse entry with a Israeli stamp. Just talked to a traveler and she assured me everyone gets the stamp on a piece of paper.
>>
Oman is perfect in every way. First-world country, literally zero political instability, incredible nature, decent people, coolest castles you've ever seen, (though not as nice as you'll find in Morocco)
Ain't nothing wrong with Jordan either; their tourist industry is somehow holding together even with all the anti-Arab press.
I hear Egypt is doable right now, though I can't speak from firsthand experience.
Are you learning MSA? Are you planning on picking up Darija once in Morocco?

I'm going to Thailand at the end of the year and I'll be staying there for a week. While I'm there on a tour holiday for 18-30s there'll be likley women in the group and I want to know the best way to get laid without going to prostitutes instead (since there've been crackdowns on places like soapies). I'll be able to stay in my own single room so I won't have to worry about privacy. This will be my first solo holiday so I'd like some pointers. Anyone have experience of scoring with hot chicks on vacation?

>>1142434
Soapies? Is that what they call soaplands in Thailand or something?
>>
>>1142434
Lol, you really think they would ever crack down on prostitution? It's like the only reason 80% of people visit Thailand.

This is the way law works in Thailand, in a bar having a beer about 1:55 am, they start lowering the metal doors. I take this as a hint that its closing time, start to go. Mama san comes over, please sit, its okay. They close all the doors. 2:01 hear banging on the door from outside, they start opening the door, a cop is there. They pour him a drink he sits down. Mama-san says, by law all bars must close by 2 am. Law doesn't say when we can open. Lol

It seems as though no matter where I travel, there are always people dressed in silver standing still (what's the point?), Peruvian pan flute bands, etc...

Why are so many of these acts completely unoriginal and downright useless?

>Why are so many of these acts completely unoriginal and downright useless?
Supply and demand, I guess. If someone gives them money, they can continue their game of panhandling. No money? Then either they are exhibitionists of a certain type or they are innocuous attention whores who allow your guard to be focused on them and not on the criminals sizing you up. He might even be a dealer, or a lookout of some sort. Think about it.

Someone who "busks" for a living might be making just enough to fund further travel, so there's that attraction.

Speed up for jump in costa rica
>>
tickets out of EZE are expensive AF

Usually when I'm there go to sao paulo, and buy a YYZ/WAS/bos/NYC-GRU flight for $450ish RT granted this was in the off season

then I use my delta miles to get a gol airlines flight to BA and back.

If you can find anything to EZE directly for under 800 usd RT I'd buy it. Sept and October prices drop a lot. YYZ and MIA usually are the cheapest places to start your trip

I have saved up approximately $100k to move. I live on the east coast in a very busy area and want to move somewhere with legal weed and less stress. I am looking at CO, OR, and WA. I am also looking at NV and CA because they will be legal soon.

I want to buy a small house or a trailer. I can do my job on the computer so I do not care about job market. I want to live in a small town or countryside. I do not care about going to the bar or concerts or meeting anyone / having social life, I have been alone my whole life and I am always going to be alone.

Which of those States do you recommend for low cost of living and warm weather? Do you have any recommendations about buying a house / trailer for under $100k? Preferably under $60k. Thanks

Recommend South Eastern Washington or North Eastern Oregon.
>Lots of farms, lots of small towns
>Cheap, if you pick oregon no sales tax, WA no state income tax.
>Lots of other stuff
>Hot as fuck in summer, rivers and lakes. Snow in winter, all seasons are pretty dang good here

any questions i can answer
>>
If you can do your job online why are you staying in the US? You can live cheaply, fuck better looking women, and have a more interesting life abroad.
>>
>>1142361
Sounds good, I want to avoid the income tax. I like hot weather, not a big fan of snow. Maybe next to the coast there is less snow? Where I live now it is about in the 90's most days, I actually love this weather. I want to keep my cost of living low, real low. I am ok with living in a trailer, or a really small house. I don't plan on having a family and I don't have people over. I don't care how the place looks. I don't care what's nearby, as long as there is a grocery store, that's really all I want.

>>1142392
I thought about it but I am probably too socially retarded to ever make it in another country. It would have to be an English speaking country, I can barely handle communication in English without fucking up and saying stupid things, so a different language would probably exasperate that problem. I am just a cowardly fuck, probably had too many bad things happen to me, makes me avoid anything adventurous. The idea of changing States scares the shit out of me but I need a change, I am definitely going nuts living here, doing what I am doing.

I don't care much about having an interesting life, I'm not cut out for that, and I am probably never going to have a relationship. Just being realistic here, it's probably not gonna happen. I just want a peaceful place with not much going on.

Do you guys watch/make daily vlogs about traveling? I have been watching a lot a casey neistat and have been inspired to try and document some of my travel. I never get out of the house and makeing thees videos has kinda gotten me to be more outdoorsy.

Anyway post cool travel vlogers for more inspo

I'm planning on visiting Estonia for 2 weeks this upcoming February. My question is how much money would I need? I'm coming from the United States and the majority of my money will be for booze, food and gifts. I will be staying in hostels to make things a bit cheaper. I was wondering if someone could give me a realistic idea of how much this would cost.

Saying that, Tallinn is gorgeous, but it is worth only 3 days maximum. I think you can make a Baltic tour in 2 weeks.

Have you ever been to the National Parks in Utah? Which one is your favorite?

Also, do you have to be a fit guy to enjoy them? I'm not handicapped, but I'm afraid I can't handle intense outdoor activities.

Thanks in advance.

As long as you have wheels, there is lots to see and do in Utah. Bryce Canyon is my personal favourite, but Zion, Capitol Reef, Arches and Canyonlands are worth a visit also. You can hike the trails, but there is also lots to see that is a 10 minute walk from your car.
>>
Don't go in middle of summer.

Go in spring or fall. Just be prepared with the right clothe and plenty of water.
>>
>>1141890
>>1141866
I agree with this guy. Most of the stuff you can see from your car, but Arches (pictured) you have to walk / mild hike about 15 minutes if memory serves. Nothing that touristy is very hard though.

Hi /trv/

I looked pretty much everywhere on Jewgle and can't find reliable information about this. If I have a 9-hour layover in another country (US) that is not my final destination. Is it possible to exit the airport and go throught customs anyway?

Will I need to pickup my luggages after my first flight, to get them re-checked?

My stop is at Houston George Bush aiport for those who are familiar with this airport

Do anyone have tips & tricks for shit-long layovers?

thanks

>>1141831
If you have a layover in the US, you MUST go through customs as there is no transit zone. You must also have a visa or ESTA.
>>
>>1141832
My local airport has US customs for flights that goes to US. Is it likely that I will go throught that before my first flight?
>>
>>1141831
>I looked pretty much everywhere on Jewgle
You are on 4chan making jewish jokes? WTF is your damage? That racist hate doesn't belong here in this forum.

As another said, you do retrieve your checked bags upon deplaning, and then go through customs/immigration at your very first stop in the US. What you do from there to leave teh airport is your business. Yes, you are allowed to leave or you wouldn't be allowed to transit here in the first place (visas in order). If you feel that you have enough time to leave the airport, and come back and go through TSA to get to the secured area at the gates, then do that. I'd allow 2.5 hours before an international flight, if not another 30 minutes for TSA delays and the fact IAH has LONG RIDES to/from the gates on these driverless shuttles called mobile lounges (big tires interiors like a small shuttle bus). They take forever to pack in and load up with passengers before moving. If you don't get the first vehicle, you wait for the second one about 20 minutes. They add time and aggravation. You _can_ check your bags on for the next flight at your risk, if you want somewhere to store them to be handsfree for the sightseeing. And, it's a pretty decent airport for local brands specific to Texas (cowboy boots, clothing, jewelry, foods of all types). ISo, if you wish to leave to get somethign specific, check out an airport map instead.

IAH is way out in the suburbs north of downtown. I use this airport when I go to Lake Charles LA every year for a private Mardi Gras celebration ball. I've only ever rented a car there from their new nifty people mover accessed rental center, which is lovely, but I don't recall seeing any businesses for a while afterwards, lots of expressways and greenery as I go East.

I believe there are quite a few immigrants from Senegal and other places, as well as some expats living there, and some travellers. What do you want to know? I'm not black, but I can't think of anything specifically you'd have to watch out for.

I'm American so i wonder how many black tourists most italians see, i don't really want to be stared at like Tokyo. Will I be one of the only black guys there besides african workers?

How are Italian women towards Black guys? I'm 6 feet plus and can pull attractive white girls in the US for what its worth

What is there to do here? Gonna be here next week.

Hello /trv/, I'm planning a trip to Amsterdam with some friends and I would like to know if there are some good camping sites where we could set our tents. The idea is that we want a cheaper alternative to the Youth Hostel. Don't mind if it's far from Amsterdam, as long as it's connected with a bus or something.

Youth hostels are like 15 euros a night. Camp in the big park in the city if you're that cheap. I'm willing to bet you're a drug tourist and are going to pass out in the fucking street anyway.

Which of the 3 major US carriers do you prefer flying with? I flew first class with United today for the first time and it was an overall excellent experience. Way better than American. I've usually had good experienced with Delta too. What does /trv/ say?
28 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1140347
See when you say "way better" in First Class between any of these three carriers I know you haven't done First very often or to too many regions. Your experience will not vary much on these three brands, but rather you'd understand that it is on the route and equipment on your flight. Even your meal service could greatly vary depending which airport you just left. But, these three? Same exact transatlantic or transpacific experiences. Exact. And, your time of day could determine which equipment you take to say Alaska and whether you felt you were in luxury or back in 1980s business class.

Variances happen when planes are refurbished or just rolled into service with cabinlike sleeper changes. And if they are suddenly better than each other, the other competitor airline meets it within a few months. When you go transatlantc mostly is where all the competitors start their best cabins and equipment too, oh but you pay for them. They are there to reward the most frequent of their customers using their credit cards and mileage and really giving the airline their thousands of dollars each year. You might prefer lie flat, have a door you can close, or the nice toiletries and the right ethnic food. Some airlines are government entities and sort of fall out of the normal business model of making money when their purpose is to support their own countrymen having an airline, any airline, and as a hub to bring tourists through.
>>
>>1140347
I usually prefer Delta, best business/ first class of the 3 US airlines and the most punctual, in my opinion. United is decent, though I'm not a fan of the 2-4-2 configuration in some of their business class seats. Really looking forward to the major upgrade they make to their business class product over the next few years. Even though I have a friend who is a travel blogger who loves American Airlines, I avoid them as much as possible. The times I have flown with have been unpleasant and always have to deal with some sort of delay or cancellation.

Also, Jet Blue has really improved throughout the years. Pretty good business class for a low cost carrier.
>>
>>1140347
I fly United and affiliates more often than the other two, because I live in a United hub city. It is not great, not terrible, like all other major US carriers. I have been impressed with customer service at American. I have found business-class flights on all three (my only first class flights have been on non-US United affiliates) similar enough.
