What would you recommend to visit?
Any secrets or nice tours outside the city?
I'd love to see something like pic related.
How safe is the city for two white boys?
What price is the highest I should pay for a gram of hash? How to differ from Abdul trying to scam me and Abdul trying to sell me the best hash in my life? Any good places to obtain hash? Do dealer let you take a look?
Do the cops care about smoking?
Thanks for all answers!
Forgot to put a topic.
It's about traveling to Marrakesh in Morocco!
>>1152794
Are you there now? Im gonna spend one more night in essoira and then go back to marrakech.
Hash should cost between 1dh for bad quality to like 30 dh for excellent stuff, though you might need to find a proper dealer for that. So far Ive been supplied by morrocan friends i made while there so no real idea. Been avoiding street dealers like in most cities.
Cops shouldnt really care. Even if they do, below 100g worst they can do is a fine. Hard drugs on the other hand can get you in jail from one pill of mdma upwards.
Generally the city is very safe for everyone concerning crime, but there is loads and loads of scams going on.
>dont accept a tour through the tanneries, seriously dont. Ever.
>immediately send food you didnt order back. I had to pay 30 dh for a tiny bowl of couscous I thought belonged to the meal.
These are the ones that happened to me. There are most likely more.
If you want good food and athmosphere as well as a safespace check out "fox art food" close to the centre. Bunch of artists doing everything pretty much for fun. Seriously good food for very low prices.
hello bernd
I started a thread the other week about cheap street food in Brussels. Well Anon, was this the place?
Good recommended food joints global. I suppose, sorry so hi. Will start though, Wok to Walk in Amsterdam, their Bombay Source with all the nuts and chicken is where it is at. Pic can't be related sorry.
>>1152590
I think it is, not 100% sure. Did you like it?
>cheap street food
>3.5€ for fucking fries
>>1152729
Anon, it was great!! Huge bagette, loads of fries, meat, cheese and source for 5 euros. I ate there nearly every day because it was so good and I was so poor.
Thank you for the tip.
I've got a job opportunity to move to either an artsy, college town of about 30,000 or Nashville, TN. I've lived in Boston and I was born in a small town so I have a good understanding of each.
Small Town Pros: A LOT cheaper, good arts scene, good nightlife ( especially for its size ), close to home and family.
Big City Pros: Always have that urge to live in a big city, just feels like something you should do when you're young, ya know?
Yeah anyway. That's all I got.
>>1152565
Nashville is decent and has a good arts scene because of Belmont/Vandy. However, I wouldn't classify it as a big city, but that's my view after living in a huge place for the last 20 years. I feel like living in a small college town could also be really cool. Wouldn't fret too much over the decision desu
>>1152565
Whats the small town senpai? Small towns are not all created equal
>big city
Isnt nashville kinda a sprawl though? Doesnt that defeat the purpose?
>>1152574
I meant to include that somewhere in the OP. It's Oxford, MS. Yeah I'm not stressing over it but it was an excuse to post in a 4chan board I never post in. I never really get out of int/pol, lol.
I got a question for my netherbro's here
I went to Amsterdam last month and had a blast. Bought few grams of wiet without having to shop anything else but my passport( I'm Belgian).
I was wondering if it's also legal to buy weed anywhere else besides of Amsterdam.
Can I buy it in Tilburg ?
There was the whole wietpas (weed card) situation a while ago, but I think that's mostly over. Buying in a coffeeshop in Tilburg should be just as legal as buying in Amsterdam.
I'm unsure if some stores have policies regarding foreigners of their own, but the worst-case is you'll be denied entry or purchase, you won't get arrested for attempting to buy weed in a shop.
>>1152539
Ja jongen.
At most you'll be sent away (mostly in Mestreech, Roosendaal and places close to the German border, though). Don't try to bring it back, though.
>>1152560
Thats the reason im going there in the first place. I only need like 5gram for strictly personal consumption. It's not like im going to hoard over a load to sell here. I just hate the local dealers and the crap they sell.
Well, Im going to leave now, wish me luck
I am looking to rent a room but most of what I find are the regular boring places, square with white walls and bedrooms as big as prison cells.
Do you have any ideas for alternative living spaces?
I can't think of a place that can include a shower and kitchen. Some sort of office maybe? Is it even legal to live somewhere that it is not a regular apartment?
>>1152503
Where? For how long? Budget? A finally is this in any way travel related?
>>1152512
Moving to Glasgow permanent stay. $550 a month.
>>1152513
So you want to rent an apartment in Glasgow but you don't like big rooms.
So rent a small room in Glasgow? Also nothing to do with traveling
Hi /trv/, I guess this is the best board to ask this question. I'll probably be going to Japan in less than a month and was wondering if you guys could recommend any movies/tv shows/even anime or whatever based on their culture and folklore? I really want to immerse myself before I go there. If this is not the right thread to ask this question, I apologize in advance.
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Seven Samurai
La Blue Girl
Pokémon
Ichi the Killer
Cooking with Dog
Two movies I recommend are Lost in Translation and Tampopo
here is a trailer of the latter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_KctoG0bAE
Alright, I take it you can't fly to and from Israel for Arab countries. Got the same with Egypt
>>1152361
Largely correct. IIRC there is/was a Cairo-Tel Aviv flight but it was kept very hush-hush. As in, you had to go to the airport to get on because they didn't want people to know there was a connection.
>>1152361
Israeli here
You can fly to cairo and amman, and from there (especially amman) connect to dubai
Have fun
>>1152592
Have you ever wanted to visit some arab countries? What's the general Israelis' attitude to the boycott of Israel?
Hi /trv. I need some advice. I'm brazilian and going with my family in january to europe for 14 days. Our bugget is not big. I am thinking about going to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdan, Bordeux, Lyon and Genebra. Do you have any suggestions?
Be more specific. What are your interests? What is your budget?
>>1152354
You mean museums, historical places, etc? Try to visit the Louvre Museum in Paris and Bruges in the Netherlands.
You would like to visit Vienna in Austria.
>>1152354
Is it your 1st time in Europe? Ok. If not, go to Central Europe (Prague and Budapest) and you'll have a blast with almost a Brazilian budget. France and Switzerland is quite expensive for Brazilian patterns.
PS: And do NEVER make the mental exchange for reais. If something costs EU 10, it is R$ 10. Otherwise you'll travel as a hobo.
I have a 4 month deal with my boss to work from abroad to complete my thesis...
I also have a teal with my supervisor to work from my thesis from abroad.
Suggestions on cool places to live for 4 months, with internet access.
Id like to go somewhere new I already lived in thailand, canada, germany, australia
Just taking suggestions of nice spots for solo travel in general...
worst Korea has the best internet.
Be more vague please
What do you like
How much do you want to spend
What nationality/languages you got
>>1152288
Fair enough
I speak french, english, german and have 3 passports, visa won't be an issue
The most important thing for me will be to be able to meet people easily as a solo traveller.
I tend to like less developed countries more because of the chaos... If beach was accessible it could be nice.
I know that I gave very few details, but I just wanted to hear what place really wow'ed people during their travel. Don't you have that one city where you really want to go back and spend some more time ?
I'm cheap as fuck, so the cheaper the better.... But as I said I will have an income from my job so if its worth it, I can pay.
>segway tours
>>1152261
Those things are really fun, if you're going to go on a walking tour you may as well add an extra benefit. Don't be a cunt.
>>1152267
But muh dignity
>>1152272
go here
>>/fa/
Soon again, dark cold months will haunt us in the northern parts of Europe. This year I am not staying home all the time. I want to go somewhere where it's warm and nice, and not to expensive. What are the best places to go in Europe during late autumn? Is there still some heat left? Are there perhaps something funny going on like some sort of festival or other interesting happening somewhere?
Its not Europe but the Spanish canary islands will be about 22c in October.
>>1152189
Greece is warm all the time. Athens has like... 20 degrees in October.
>>1152189
Mediterranean. Southern Spain. Andalusia. Not expensive and warm.
I have a question that I think is appropriate for this board. Since between everyone here, I imagine an incredible number of cities have been visited, I would not be surprised to find an answer here. I am wondering where is still left for the artist to go and thrive.
In the late 18th century artists flocked to Vienna, in the 19th Paris and in the 20th, New York became individuated by innumerable artists. Where is that ideal for the artist of the 21st century whose inspiration is gained from men and not machines? I recently read Orwell's 'Down and Out in Paris and London' and was left wondering if the Paris and London of those days exists at all today. I am sure they do but despite having traveled often, I have not seen any city that offers so much to the developing man as Paris and London seem to have in the past.
I suppose the artist flocks to where he can live for little, be surrounded by people not unlike himself, and have the time to create. Is there an ideal place for him today?
The internet? Nobody goes anywhere now, just online.
Berlin
>>1152079
Even if one could live in and off the internet, I don't think it would inspire any great work. Art is inspired by the beautiful as it is conceived and made manifest by man; the internet makes the beautiful accessible, but is not in itself beautiful.
>>1152080
Can you say more about this? What about Berlin attracts artists?
Hey guys, this has to be the best Travel VLOG I have seen so far.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuW40Cknu9U
Can you share yours?
>>1152015
OP, is this your Travel VLOG by any chance?
Either way it's fucking shit.
>>1152015
stopped watching when the song started
How does Bucky Hayashi, a guy that can't really speak English, and does little to no editing on the 1 minute clips he takes of rural Japan have a better travel vlog than you?
hey /trv/
i'm an american
i want to pick up and move to another country and just start and entirely new life
i dont want to be a vagabond, i want to settle elsewhere and abandon my old life; just create a whole new identity
if this possible anymore?
if so, how do i do it
Do you really need to leave the country to do that?
>>1151980
do i?
i feel like i do.
I at least need to move to a different city/state, and i'm not sure how to do that on very low funds.
Maybe you should ask one of the other people that creates this thread twice a week now
Moving to another country is hard, bureaucratically, just move to a different state. Hitchhike there as hitching is free (yes it is still doable). Get a job there. Find a place to sleep. Start a garden. Stop being such a bitch. Go make friends at the comic book store. Join a D&D campaign. Knock up the cleric, get her drunk if you have to. Get a place together. Start a family. Get a minivan. Go to soccer practice. Go to pediatricians. Go on family vacations. Have an affair. Go to couples counseling. Get divorced. Go to visit your kids on Wednesdays and every other weekend. Go with them to the water park. Just for the love of God, don't come back to /trv/.
Hi, /trv/. I hope I'm on the right board but basically I ask for help with deciding our vacation. We're considering Italy and Croatia (we're from Czech Republic) and we basically want to know which are the best places to visit from both of these and at best cost favourable.
Thanks very much!
>>1151844
bampo
>>1151844
I was just considering the same thing, so have a bump OP.
Any other advice about Croatia would be great.
>>1151844
Came back from a one week trip to Istria a few days ago. Didn´t expect too much and was surprised about these charming small towns. The major downside was, that there was a shitton of tourists, but I guess thats the same anywhere in august.
Be sure to check out Rovinj. Found it a lot more charming than Porec.
We also stayed a night in Motovun. Really nice and cozy town on a hill. 10/10, would visit again, even though theres not much to do besides walking around the castle and eating truffle-dishes.
Pula was quite shitty. Would only go there if youre into history and want to see the roman arena.
Also: Consider going by bus when you want to do day-trips. Driving and finding a parking-spot was annoying. But propably thats a lot better during off-season.
