So, kind of on a whim I bought cheap plane tickets to Frankfurt. I've got 10 days. I've never traveled outside burgerland before.
My basic plan is to arrive in Frankfurt, spend a day there and then spend most of the trip in Munich, stopping along the way maybe in Darmstadt, Heidelburg, and Stuttgart.
What are some good things to see and do along the way? I like museums and castles and stuff.
for starters, check out

kek I don't need to pay for sex thx
I've got about $12,000 saved, and I want to travel SEA for as long as that will last me, starting this summer.
Are there any good guidebooks that I should read before I got or take with me? I'm going in pretty much blind with my only plan being to stay in hostels and travel around and see shit

Stuff like lonely planet is good for getting ideas on where to go and gives a little bit of background to the place you're visiting. Review aggregators are generally better for finding places to eat and sleep; if a place gets in the LP they often start to offer less value because they know they will have a guaranteed stream of customers. Wikitravel is an option if all else fails, especially for very niche places but it is perpetually outdated so I'd keep it as a last resort.
I also think it's a good idea to do at least a bit of planning before you go. You don't need a itinerary but having a general idea of where things are and where you want to go helps avoid missing things and wasting time planning on the road. Also read up on the basic etiquette and common scams, it's easy to avoid running into trouble if you just make a basic effort to avoid it.

thank you!!

This.
Also, avoid tripadvisor like the plague, its cancer.
Advice/questions/stories about the trans-siberian railroad are all welcome
My friend are I planning to go from either Beijing or Vladivostok to Moscow this summer. Advice on which starting point is preferable, getting visas/other logistical pointers, or worthwhile stopping points along the way?
Similar question but motorbiking around Europe soon.
Thinking of catching the train to Vladivostok with the bike as freight to then do Japan.
Tips?

Hey guys!
I'm going to fly from Germany to Turkey for vacation soon and wanted to Know If I can ,,smuggle' some joints with me(5g) in the plane or in the luggage to chill once I'm in turkey
How should I proceed without getting caught :D
You have to bag them and shove them in your ass.......hahahahahaha. it will be funny when a drug dog sticks his nose up your ass....hahahaha
>>1222955
Don't light up on the plane when the no smoking sign is illuminated, like during take-off and during the actual flight. If you want to light up before you take off, go right ahead and blaze that muthafucka.
>>1222955
>smuggle' some joints with me(5g) in the plane or in the luggage to chill once I'm in turkey
Why the fuck would you do that? Getting on and off the plane is the one fucking time in your trip you KNOW you are going to be under the eyes of law enforcement looking for drugs.
Marijuana is illegal in Turkey, but obtainable if you chose to accept the legal risk of using it there. No need to fuck around with customs officials probing your anus.
Are actors given underwear with the wardrobe they use when they shoot movies/shows?

Real estate prices in Nevada are insanely low -- $10k for 40 acres -- but I've never been out there... what's it like? What should I know about in order to have a good trip out there so I can reconnoiter the area? I am looking in northern Nevada.
>elko not vegas
How does Elko compare to, say, the area around Unionville?
A bartender at one of my usual watering holes is from Nevada, but he just says it's flat, full of scrub, and there's very little water or much to do at all.
I want to build my own little microcommunity or hermitage out there.
>>1222849
Desert, Desert, Desert.
>>1222849
Your bartender is right. Land there is cheap for a reason.
>>1222849
AZ/ American south west fag here
>Real estate prices in Nevada are insanely low -- $10k for 40 acres
because they are literally selling you 40 acres of infertel dirt since you probably don't have anywhere close enough to pay for irrigation or farming.
>but I've never been out there... what's it like?
Exactly what your bartender told you it is like, NV, New Mexico, and mid-south AZ are all the same flat, nothing and bullshit hot
>What should I know about in order to have a good trip out there so I can reconnoiter the area?
Rent a car and drive from Vegas to there, because that's about the same for AZ and NM. You'll have one mega city in the state and 2 smaller cities with JACK SHIT to do outside of it. There are really 2 things to do, drugs or drinking.
>but he just says it's flat, full of scrub, and there's very little water or much to do at all.
Outside of the major cities that foot the bill for proper water distribution to turn the land green then this is correct. Even then most cities just drop off with death in every direction. If you like small towns then move to Elko, water, electricity, internet, etc will cost you probably more and I hope you enjoy life time bars and same old same old stuff because.
>I want to build my own little microcommunity or hermitage out there.
Good fucking luck, I hope this was just some drunk rambling idea
I'm in the Bay Area. My girlfriend is visiting me for like 10 days in a few weeks, and I need to find shit to do. I've lived here for 3 years and have been doing nothing but going to the same bar.
Does anybody have any brilliant suggestions that aren't like >1.5 hours driving? I do have a car. I have no real budget restriction, but would prefer not to spend thousands and thousands.
Dude there's like a shit load of things to do in SF like the tourist trap of pier 39, golden gate bridge, and Alcatraz.
Either that or do some hikes in the area
>>1222387
Twin Peaks, Hot Cookie, Marin Headlands, Haight St, Presidio, Baker Beach, Golden Gate Bridge, SF Zoo, countless stores based on her interests, SF MOMA, AT&T Park...
>>1222387
Walk through China Town. The real part not just the touristy part. There's also golden gate park, Cal Academy of Sciences, Union Square, Mission District for Mexican food (I assume, haven't been there in a few years). And is the Lusty Lady still around? It's pretty gross but not bad for a laugh.
What has been your best or worst experience in a club or bar while travelling? Whether it be shitty bouncers or bartenders only paying attention to the hot chicks, or one of the best nights of your life..
I spilled a drink on myself once. Luckily it was a few drops and I managed to wipe it all off
Clubs in Brazil are pretty amazing. Hot, incredibly sweet girls, and it's the norm to go up to them and start making out within a few minutes. In fact they'll get turned off if you don't. The clubs outside of Rio, where gringos are a novelty, are pretty fantastic for obvious gringos.
Otherwise my good times in bars/clubs when traveling were just because I brought someone home from them. Great nights because I got my dick wet in something super hot, not because of anything about the club/bar/situation.
My condom broke in a night club in Caracas and I was scared to have caught HIV. Well I am still scared until this day so I'd say that was my worst experience.
Is this country safe to visit as an African-American?
Serbia? Hell no

What's the worst scenario that could happen?
Is Croatia or Bosnia any safer?
I'm a female btw.
So I've been presented with a couple of opportunities to go away from the US and do some volunteer work overseas (doing it mostly for the experience).
I've gone on workaway and made contact with a couple in London, and a family in Southern Australia, both of which seem to want me to go stay with them for a month or two to do some work around their places.
Which one should I do? London seems cool but Australia looks like an adventure with all the wildlife and shit, but then again it's full of spiders. Any insights on the cultures and lifestyle would be appreciated.
>>1222098
Australia all the way.
Fuck off we are full OP
Go to great britistan
I came to Australia a month ago. There's no goddamn spiders or scary animals, definitely not in the city anyway. It's just expensive and the people aren't as nice as they make themselves out to be.
That being said I wouldn't touch London with a 10 meter pole.
Dearest Ameribros.
I am a lowly LEAF who wants to immigrate to the USA. After researching the visa options, it seems like I need to find a job offer from an American company as the best way of getting citizenship.
How would I go about doing this? Why would someone hire AFUCKINGLEAF when there are americans with the same skills? Are there any job sites with US placements or what can I do?
pls respond
get gud at tech via certs or just learn to be an accountant or some shit, it's probably not as hard as you think
>>1222004
Actually a job offer will get you a work visa, not citizenship.
>>1222004
Are you qualified in a field? (diploma)
If not, your only option is to marry an american
I want to plan a road trip from Key West FL, all the way to Houlton ME. Basically taking the whole US1 North

Have any of you worked with an NGO in places like africa or asia? how was it?
Ii'm about to graduate and my major is not very useful. Maybe I can teach math to kids or stuff like that, it would be nice. And a nice way to reset my existence.
Also curious about this.

Do you want a job ? Just be an English teacher in a foreign country.
Fuck doing volunteer work in a third world just to stroke your ego. You will be more beneficial to the third world teacher their kids English than you will be digging watering holes for Africans.
Looking for the best blend of weight, size, and capacity.
Any recommendations?
>>1221868
First reccomendation is make sure the capacity, volts, and amps are listed on the battery. Some airports/countries will not let you board with the battery if it's not listed on it.
Second, for me, 10,000mah is the minimum size you should buy. IMO, the best size, between usefulness and bulk.
This is the one I use. Only $9.99. My wife has the blue one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B014W39VFA/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1488922668&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=xillie&dpPl=1&dpID=41T88s71YjL&ref=plSrch

Thats a really good PoweBank OP, pretty much any Anker product is top tier. They are light, small, and very durable. If you want something that can charge 6-8 times the one you linked is really good.
I bought https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0194WDVHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_SVZVybERCR2FG
for my trip which can charge my Moto G 3-4 times.

Is the capacity and such listed on it? I didn't see it on the pictures
What are some some good EU schools to attend as an international transfer student that are free or cheap?
I recently found out that Norway and a few other places are inexpensive to study at as a transfer student from the US.
I'm a junior at a local university (Kennesaw State) and I have a 3.75 or so GPA studying Computer Science. Most of the universities in Norway seem very competitive like the University of Oslo.
Are there any respectable and beautiful schools that would be easier to get accepted to? The University of Bergen seems very nice but I don't know if I would get accepted.
Non-Norwegian school suggestions are welcomed as well, as long as the cost of tuition and living isn't too expensive.
I was also considering France, Spain and some others.
In Germany you will have to pay around 500- 1000 euro per month for living, food, study, hobbies and everything else. You don't pay much tution fees so it only depends on your living style.
>>1221626
Nice. What's your experience like living/visiting there. Is there a lot of good activities in the daytime or is it more casual?
