Wanna spend as little as possible, have own car but will need a place to sleep obviously.. gonna go mid-july. Any advice? I am planning a Roadtrip through Norway - Sweden. The period is from 20 August to 20 September.
We are 3 or 4 persons in a big car. About 25 years old. We will mostly sleep in the tent or car.

I am photographer and filmmaker. so i'm looking for the most beautiful/magic places in Norway.

The destinations that I have selected are:
1. Oslo
2. Sverd i fjell
3. Preikestolen
4. Kjerag
5. Trolltunga
6. Voringfossen
7. Geiranger Flydalsjuvet
8. Fossevandring Geiranger
9. Trollstigen
10. Troll Church

Afterwards, we simply head north and discover without plan. Until we arrive at the Lofoten.

11. Lofoten
12. Tromso

Here in the north we want to look for a nice photo spot every night and hope to catch the polar lights.
Finally over Sweden the return trip.

13. Västerås Historiska Skeppsmuseum
14. Stockholm
15. Kopenhagen

What places have I forgotten where I must go?
Which of the 15th places would you not recommend?
Are there spots in Sweden in our route where we should go? What else could you recommend?

I am very grateful for every tip!

First stop to buy up alco and sig near Hamburg maybe, check tollvesenet.no for how much you can bring.
Oslo, stay short or stay long. It's a Nice city to see, but The best part about Oslo is all The parks. No matter where you live you Will have lots of green spaces.

The plan sounds good. Remember to see all of Lofoten and Senja, beutiful places. Also try to see Finnmarksvidda og it's possible, i would sau it's more desert than Manny other places. Maybe Even more than The mauritanian desert

Oh how original nobody has ever filmed Norway or Sweden

You sound like an insufferable person.

I can't help you OP, but it sounds like my kind of trip. I love driving long distances.

I'll be moving to Queens this fall to start graduate school. What should a newcomer know about the place? Rec'd neighborhoods for a student on a modest budget?

Also Queens general.

Queens is huge and the neighborhoods vary widely. Queens has a big enough population to be it's own major city.

I'll try to summarize the borough the best I can.

The borough in general is extremely diverse, considered one of the most diverse places in the world. The ethnic mixes you find will vary by neighborhood.

As a general rule, Western and Central Queens are very urban, while Eastern Queens is urban for US city standards but not for NYC standards. Eastern Queens is kinda boring in my opinion, especially Southeast Queens.

In my opinion, you can't really go wrong with the stretch of Queens from about Woodside to Jackson Heights, solid neighborhoods with lots of great ethnic food, plus they're all a quick subway ride from Manhattan. And to my understanding, there's a lot to do in Astoria which is a neighborhood in Western Queens right across the river from Manhattan.

For most of Queens, crime really isn't an issue, except for South Jamaica and Far Rockaway, and even then you should be fine as long as you exercise common sense.

Also, nowhere in Queens is affordable anymore, but some neighborhoods are affordable for NYC standards.

I think I'm gonna be studying at Queens College, which is by Queensboro Hill. Does that area fall more into the boring, eastern side you mentioned?

Going to Barcelona today need some ideas on what to do. I want to avoid as many Chinese tourists as possible so I won't be seeing things like Sagrada Familia or Las Ramblas. Any obscure places I can go to that /trv/ have checked out?

Would also like to eat at some nice local places.
Any one about for a beer as well?
Help an irishfag out, thanks

You got to see Sagrada Familia. You won't see any architecture like it. And it doesn't feel too crowded once inside.

Black Madonna is worth the trip too. Not so much the church but the scenery around it and the hike up the surrounding area. Tibidabo will feel cheap and boring after that.

Las Ramblas was just kinda annoying. The prostitutes come out at night and they are fugly.
Most of the food near the touristy areas is shit because they don't need to be good to get customers.
>>
Barcelonabro here.

Do see Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and other modernist stuff even if there are many tourists. It's a unique style of architecture. You should also check out Montjuic.

To see the skyline you should go and check out Barcelona's bunkers (from the civil war), used to be a shithole of a place but now is pretty OK (just don't go there at dark, some junkies still)

Here you can find many breweries that serve local beer: http://www.ambcompte.net/restaurants/bars-de-barcelona-amb-cerveses-artesanals-de-tirador/

Haven't been to all of them but I particularly recommend Moritz Factory and Catalluna. You should also try 'Cap i pota' (pork's nose and feet) and croquettes at Can Codina.

As others comment, hiking in Montserrat, where the Black Madonna, is pretty nice, although I think that the Black Madonna itself is shit.

How do you eat healthy when you're travelling and don't have a kitchen/camping equipment?

>How do you eat healthy when you're travelling and don't have a kitchen/camping equipment?

Pretty easily, I just look around places well before my trip and use google/tripadvisor/facebook/etc to see what a place servers and then mark it down for visiting when I travel.
>>
>>1249818
Plan better and book a place with a kitchen.

If you really care about what you're eating this is the only answer, or you could just ditch your autism for a few days and enjoy yourself while on vacation

Venice is a day trip or one night max unless you are there with a girlfriend/wife or something.

I don't remember what time of year I was there, but dress for warm weather. You can look up weather averages for different times of year for anywhere in the world.

I don't know if he'll ever pay or what, but I consider keeping quite for now out of respect that he's letting me stay. I don't want to ask anyone for money. Guess I have too much pride. I could have my friends in Slovenia get me some work for cash if available. But to get to Ljubljana form Budva is around 70 euro. Have been thinking of walking it. But I have about 10 pounds in Croatian kuna and another 2 euro in Serbian dinar. Probably enough for a month of bread. Summer is here so should be ok outside. Or try hitch hike. I don't know anymore. Or I could stay the summer, problem that after its over I'm really in the shit if it pays out nothing.

TL:DR Stuck in Montenegro, out of money. working as a house servant. How to escape?

Is it possible to do like a one month stay in a monastery in Korea or any other country? Maybe India?

I don't want to go full monk but I would like to learn their teachings on meditation and avoiding temptations and materialism and maybe make a better life. I can afford to take a month off of work so I don't want anything longer or shorter. Money isn't much of an object.

I am Christian and do not want to convert or anything but maybe implement their principles into my daily life. I am white. Is what I want possible?

>I am Christian and do not want to convert or anything but maybe implement their principles into my daily life.
There are Christian monasteries, abbeys, cloisters, etc that allow very inexpensive daily stay prices (almost a donation really for your soup and bread supper), and you're welcome to join in prayer, or a "silent retreat" weekend and you won't pick up any unwanted spiritual guests by going pagan or occult with your vacation meditations.

You can hang out with Trappists, Benedictines, Jesuits, and others who have some pretty serious prayer traditions and doctrines on top of catholicism. Some offer one on one counseling, or some structured class or study to instill some reading or reflection times. Some have ridiculously nice buildings and grounds, and others are spartan sleeping, but gorgeous hiking.

I can't speak for the zen people or their prices. It doesn't interest me. If a person is interested, I figure they'd already study at home (why can't you?) and not insult people like a tourist trying on a hat. Adding a language barrier to study seems illogical to me. Probably you just want silence and time to reflect. You can get prayer anywhere without switching religions.

Hey /trv/! I know this is a slow board on 4chan and I'm sure you get threads like these all the time but I'd appreciate the help.
I'm young right now, and if I'm going to travel it's best if it's now. I live in LA and want to travel to Europe for an extended period of time.
What are good tips for cheap flights from LAX to Anywhere in Western Europe?
My plan is to find my way through countries like Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, the U.K. and ending in Ireland before I go home.
Plan on spending a few weeks there if I can save enough. Any suggestions for shit to do is great also. Thanks /trv/!

I'm emigrating to London in July. Anything I should know? Also some questions:
I'm a white male with technology consulting experience in my late 20's - what's the job market like?
What's a hip, central, up and coming suburb with good transport links?
Where's the best 50m pool?
Best healthy, and cheap takeout food (must be both)?
Best and cheapest chain of gyms?
Many thanks, britanons.

The job market is huge and varied, but you'll be up against some stiff competition as London attracts applicants from all over. If you're qualified and good at your work, I have confidence you'll find something.
Property prices are Manhattan-Tier anywhere central, I.e. absolutely astronomical. It gets a bit cheaper as you go East, Walthamstow is seemingly the latest place on the up. Don't bother going south of the river for accommodation, that way only madness lies...
Transport For London (TFL) is a source of great pisstaking, but with a Bus/Train/Tube combo you can get anywhere, and there's more black cabs and Uber drivers than you can shake a stick at.
The only time I've been to a gym was to deliver a TV, so I wouldn't like to comment on where you might go.
Despite what you'll have heard, British food isn't terrible any more, simply because we've stolen everyone else's. Consequently, whatever you already like, you'll find it somewhere.
There's pools all over the place, but for a real swimming community and the chance to meet some people, try Tooting Bec Lido in Hades/South London or even have a dip in The Serpentine.
Be fully prepared to initially hate the place for being cold, wet, full of pollution, and unfriendly people, it's a properly large city whose multitude of charms can take a while to reveal themselves. Persevere and you'll find it worthwhile.

>I'm emigrating to London in July. Anything I should know?
It's a bad choice, I would choose some other city.

I live in London since 6 years, hate every day I am here.
>m a white male with technology consulting experience in my late 20's - what's the job market like?
Easy to find a job, you will think you earn a lot of money, but within 2 month realize that anything below 100k per yer is too low
>What's a hip, central, up and coming suburb with good transport links?
Nothing you can afford.
>Where's the best 50m pool?
There isn't one. All are swarmed by waves of people. You will soon realize which ones.
>Best healthy, and cheap takeout food (must be both)?
Food in London is universally bad, extremely expensive and unhealthy.

I finally decided to take the plunge and booked a flight plus hotel in Pattaya.
I am flying in next week.
I have some questions before I go.

What's the average bar fine price ? 500 baht ?
Short time ? Should I pay 1000-1500 baht ?
What are the best ladyboy bars and is it easy to find a love hotel(I don't want to take them to mine) ?

Also I heard that poppers are illegal in Thailand. Are there any legal replacements ?
