Sometimes I feel guilty about relatively radical political opinions I hold, mostly about people in positions of responsibility being scum that deserve the death penalty and generally being so unhappy with the system and its results that I just want to toss it all in the garbage, including the people who use and abuse it in ways I consider irresponsible. But then I see the shit my political opponents say, and I realize the social pressure that makes me feel like my opinion is unusual doesn't exist for them, given that they say worse shit openly. They only care about radicalism when it's their opponents who do it, but protect and support radicals on their own side. But that's exactly why radicalism against them is logical, or even needed.

The system we have now requires everyone to be onboard with it. The moment anyone decides to start abusing it to further their own idealism, is the moment it fails. That failure leads to the rise of radicalism, both of the politically supported brownshirts, and their ideological enemies.
