Fluffies suck, no matter what you do, how many times you tell them, they'll continue to fuck up.

They are perpetually irritating.

And often cross into some kinda of uncanny vally (they're cute, but also have that face you wanna just punch in the face).

They're just "wrong" and need to be wiped out. We have this sort of weird balance of wanting to love and protect them because they're so weak and helpless, but we also know they shouldn't be allowed to continue existing because they ruin everything.

Killing them is ok, because they are barely living creatures. But it feels so wrong because they have that ability to communicate higher than any animal other than human.

We treat them as people, because they get into situations that only people could get into. Situations that you or I could get into. Sure, the stakes are lower and the premises are more shallow, but to a fluffy all of that is more than can be handled.

For instance: adoption is a human issue more than it is a pet issue. We see it in media and real life. People will rescue fully grown dogs. Nobody ever wants to adopt a big foal and nobody wants to adopt a tween. Why is one treated as more objectively fucked up than the other?

Why does watching SAW make you the average consumer, while reading stuff from the ringmaster make you a sociopath who likes it when small animals are hurt?

Is it because fluffies are small and defenseless Why watch any of the Alien or Predator movies?Why watch Life?

Why watch any monster movie? Isn't humanity small and defenseless in those films? Why isn't that fucked up?

Fluffies demonstrate the horrors of society and the powerlessness of the human being when faced with the bigger picture of anything.

And even then, our troubles will appear small and silly to SOMEONE out there.

When we watch a fluffy suffer, it's like watching a horror flick. It's a chance to see ourselves as the monsters. It's our chance to see the narrative in a different light.
