Judging how the body transforms, i think you can get a largely gorilla ish transformation from the organic primal, you'll just need something to cover his head.
I'm a little surprised they didn't have a head flip out from under the cockpit, then swivel the whole backpack

Wow this is it, this is what is making me finally drop the line, I'm going full third party now. They actually care about the fans and the toys designs. No hollow parts, superior materials and articulation, just the whole package. POTP just looks like knockoffs compared to them. Not even Takara's superior paint jobs and accessories can save this line. hasbro you ruined it, you took your golden goose and just shat all over it with gaudy G1 garbage that nobody wanted. You didn;t even have to release an Optimus primal with realistic fure just one that looked like the in-show model and transformed just like the original figure.

Classics Voyager Prime is still the best CHUG Prime that I'm aware of. His 2 main flaws are the arm kibble and the fact that he's kind of short, although with toys getting smaller, it isn't as pronounced as it used to be.

Let's look at some of the alternatives/options.
1) Classics DX - Super G1 in robot mode, kinda trashy in truck mode. Somewhat gimped by gimmick.
2) Energon Prime - Fat with scrawny limbs. Nice Megazord mode though.
3) Cybertron Prime - Awesome, but too big for CHUG.
4) First Strike - Actually pretty good except for the HUGE backpack. As much as I hate the movie designs, I like him. But he doesn't fit CHUG aesthetically.
5) Battle Blades - Too Bayformer but otherwise, really good.
6) DotM - Ahahahaha... no. He looks like a Revoltech reject.
7) Evasion Mode - Great Vehicle. Amazing that they could get a movie style robot into said vehicle, but again, too Bayformer for the role of CHUG Voyager Prime.
8) TLK - Looks like a movie Prime, but not an Optimus Prime.
9) WfC - Too small, but otherwise super cool.
10) FoC - Even smaller. I have him as the oversized leader of my Legends/Cyberverse.
11) Prime (FE) - Totally awesome. I love this guy. Just not as CHUG Supreme Commander of All My Autobots though.
12) Beast Hunter - Love him, but not CHUGgy enough.
13) RiD - Too small. Although I'm tempted to grab a cheapo oversized knock off of him.
14) PotP - Too big. But I'm still gonna get him when he comes out. I think he he looks really good.

The thing is, a lot of CHUG are deluxes and Voyagers. Leaders don't really fit as Prime isn't supposed to be the biggest of the bunch. TT/CW Ultra Magnus and Jetfire fit because they're supposed to be oversized.

Classics Voyager pretty much wins by default. He's not perfect, but still excellent. His articulation is very good, despite what some people say.

Yeah, I'm looking for a replacement for him. But at the moment, he's still the best for that very specific role as CHUG supreme commander.

If Hasbro had their shit together, they would have scrapped Titans Return PMOP and tried to find some middle ground between the two here. The Powermaster gimmick would actually have worked in POTP since they could include a little Hi-Q titanmaster matrix dude that plugged into Prime's grill, and most importantly, a truck cab that turned into a robot that could also fit into the trailerbot. I'd rather have one decent Leader-class Optimus Primes with the span of a few years than two mediocre ones a year apart.

We had discussions here before, could have voyager sized shells with legends sized figures but then its just a crappy shell, could merge it with the robot but then the shell and inner robot concepts are gone much like rotf and rid bludgeon, how would a triple changer who goes from shell mode to robot mode to vehicle mode work?

You're not alone. Imo CW, TR and POTP are what the main lines *should* be - interesting and fun takes on not just G1 but all of the Transformers lore, which do innovative things with old gimmicks. Slavish G1 should be reserved for MP's, which it is and all of you fucks complaining should just switch to collecting those. Being able to link up two Titans and 6+ leaders into a colossal mega-city populated by tons of headmasters would have made my kid-self go bananas.

The only downsides are the low budget hollow plastic and stickers, but you take the good with the bad. Regardless, anyone who looks at pic related and doesn't think it looks fun as fuck is dead inside.

So the fully decked out Abominus will be shown tonight, his chesplate and head are 100% g1 accurate. You can see why Hungrr's beast mode looks so spindly because he doesa defensor by pulling out the whole chest 180 degrees around the figure. But the end result is a bulky looking torso. It's a very complex transformation probably the most complex torso yet.

What sucks it that toys like Sky Shadow were almost perfect, but they have to use stickers for like four important details, so it's kind of trash. You can't really just remove the wing stripes.
